The PS1 had so many good games that I'm still finding out about ones I've never heard of.
It’s a console that just keeps on giving, even all these years later!

Same. And I was that age where I had no money when ps1 was out. So even a lot of the great games I knew of, I never owned.

Alundra was a game almost no one knew about when it was new. But I checked out every Working Designs game at the time.
Alundra is on the ps3 and vitas psn store. Its only like 7 dollars i think.
The soundtrack is soooo good too
May I add : Silent Bomber, Deception3, Soukyugurentai, Star Gladiator, Syndicate Wars, Tobal2.
All of them are still enjoyable by today standards, especially on a psvita ! :)

Out of all the games shown on this video, Alundra and Vandal Hearts were the only ones I knew about. Damn, the PS1 has a billion cool games! Your videos are a goldmine, man! I've been updating my personal "games to buy" list thanks to your recommendations. Thanks for showcasing these games!

OMG Vandal Hearts! I have been trying to remember what that game was called. I had it when I was younger but lost it after I went in to the army. (Lost everything I had actually. Family really sucks sometimes.) I am glad you listed it. I loved that cheeky, shameless FFTactics clone :D
Forsaken was a lot of fun too if you could get over the nightmarish controls.

This is a great video and I'll be checking out a bunch of the games mentioned, but there is one thing I would recommend to improve the video. It would be nice to mention if a game is exclusive to a specific territory, such as Rapid Reload being release in EU and JP (as Gunner's Heaven), but never released in NA.
It would help people find these games easier if they knew which regions they were released in as well as different regional names if applicable.

Some of these are well knowed and very respected but I did find out about one I never heard of.. puzzle park/gussun paradise is one that I will have to check out!

3:15 - Trick'N Snowboarder has bonus Capcom characters, advertises a way to make your own snowboarding action video based on your run, supports a mouse controller for editing the logo - like R4: Ridge Racer Type 4.decal editor via the garage - and, also like R4 Ridge Racer, supports PS1 system link for a pair of PS1s supplying output to a couple screens much like Cool Boarders 2. Of course, have to mention this is from the NTSC point of view so regions might differ.
..... 6:18 - an interesting concept with the ~psionic energy in Disruptor. If there was only one thing I wish the fevelopers had done it would have been to a add mouse controller support for looking, firing, etc. in tandem with a controller for movement, etc. - much like Quake II and Alien Resurrection for PS1. Still a good FPS.
Nice list. PO'ED for ps1 is one of my favourite and is a very uncommon ps1 title.
This was a surprise, I mean I thought I knew most of the good games of the PS1 library. Yoyo, Trickn, and Final Resistance came of left field. Awesome list. I feel like there are too many hidden gem vids that cover most of the same games, it's the list that covers new games you haven't herd of is what a real hidden Gem. Vandal Hearts I knew about but you were probably the first to mention it in a hidden gem vid. Thanks!

Looney Tunes sheep raider is such an underrated game it doesn't even feature in underrated games lists xD One of the best and most fun ps1 games IMO and so many people don't know about it or have some kind of preconception about it.
First game I thought of was Vandal Hearts. It deserves the same level of recognition as FF Tactics.
Vandal Hearts is a great game. Played it through at least 5 times
It would of been nice to have seen Omega Boost in that list. One of the best mech shooters of its time but never got the recognition it deserves. Such a shame.
I'd like to recommend a few.
Hogs of War, Team Buddies, Demolition Racer and Jade Cocoon.

@@bluesnoopz It wasn't when it was new. Picked it up the first month for $20 in the discount aisle at K-Mart. They put a lot of lesser known games right there.
You know what I've noticed? Japan got all of the great Fighter games, and the great Shooting (SHMUP) games. I see tons and tons of hidden gems and most of them tend to be Japanese release only.

Good video! I must admit I find Alundra is actually overrated. It's pretty good but feels stretched out and often boring. Also it's just frustrating to play and never felt with it for me. But it is pretty good still, but it doesn't touch the best Zelda games.
The BGM - Dewprism Threads of Fate Opening by Squaresoft is a first of a brilliant OST

Colony Wars, any of them, severely underrated
There are so many you can't just do like 10. It has to be 10 underrated RPG, shooters, fighter's, platformer, action/adventure, racing and puzzle.

rapid reload was my first ps1 game, i mean, i rented it a couple of times when i only had demo disks at home, and then decided to buy it directly [i was very little, so i had to save some money]
heavily underrated, but also very difficult game, so i get that it may didnt sold well as it should.
seriously, i finished the game YEARS after buying it, the game has few levels, but one of those was a huge roadblock for me
PS: Axel and Ruka makes a cameo in wild arms 2 if i remember correctly
Final resistance is basically what resistance the ps3 series turn into. But it went from 3rd person to first person.

I've only played Alundra - an amazing (and hard as hell) game - and Vandal Hearts (a truly underrated tactical jrpg; better avoiding the second one)

@@ReaveIdono I got 3 corona motherboard slims 360’s. One is the 360 slim elite. I just got it off Ebay for $35. Another of the 360’s is an RGH hacked. It is awesome for retro. Came with a ton of emulators on it. Also a lot of 360 shooter games on there as well, but I have never played a shooter so who knows if I’ll like it. Hey another couple games like VH are Vanguard Bandits for PS1. It’s mech based. Another is one of my absolute favorites Front Mission3. Both use the strategic grid like VH.
Alundra is stellar, still holds up :)
C12 and Disruptor,2 games who i need finish,good games when i been so close,but both servers has blocked me on laptop
I will suggest Shaolin, that game allowed to fight simultaneously 8 players if you have 2 multitaps, it was incredibly fun to play.

Guys, I can't remember the name of the game, it's like Twisted Metal but on-foot instead, I can't remember much, I remember wizard old man, monster or alien, cyborg or robot, giant gorilla or something and man with dual pistols, I think it's free for all deathmatch, 3rd person camera view, did you guys remember this game?
For a great inexperience way to play these games and hundreds more get the true blue mini for the playstation classic. I'm not a seller just a real happy customer that loves the ps1 games and can't afford the high price of these awesome oldies

Alundra, the puzzle game disguised as a Zelda-clone. Why? Because if you die enough times, the game gives you the best weapon in the game and is like "Focus on the puzzles, my little gamer."

Vandal Hearts is a good game, but Vandal Hearts 2 is a hundred times better.
These games aren’t “underrated” in certain cases because they actually reviewed highly. Underloved or generally unknown? Yes.
