I played a game in the 90's as a kid. I loved it, but could never remember what it was called, just what it looked like. It was Firepower 2000. Holy hell dude, I'm so glad I'm going through every single one of your videos. I don't usually comment, but I had to say thank you for helping me identify an amazing childhood memory of mine. Thanks for all the content. I've got a long way to go before I reach your current vids, but I'm loving every minute of your content.

@@thatvideogamesshow , the spiritual sequel of sorts to Cybernator, which is Metal Warriors, is also worth playing as well. Fun fact, LucasArts actually handled the NTSB-U publishing rights, alongside Konami, for both Cybernator and Metal Warriors. Another fun fact is that those two games also have a prequel game, or, in the case of Metal Warriors, a prequel game in spirit, that is called Target Earth for, ironically enough, the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and it was not ported, developed, or published by Konami, as far as I can tell, but, rather, NCS (Nippon Computer Systems, which technically made the first two games, and is also now known as Masaya Games, which is a division of Extreme Co. Ltd.). Moreover, the first two games are a part of the Assault Suit series. Target Earth was actually Assault Suit Leynos and Cybernator was actually Assault Suit Valken in Japan. Also, despite sharing many of the same styling cues as Target Earth and Cybernator, Metal Warriors is, oddly enough, NOT a sequel to either game, or any other of the Assault Suit games. However, later on, there would be three more sequels in the franchise, the first one being Assault Suit Leynos 2 for the Sega Saturn, Assault Suits Valken 2 for the Sony PlayStation, and two possible remakes/reboots in Assault Suit Leynos for the Sony PlayStation 2 (which is available in PAL regions) and Assault Suit Valken, which is available for the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows.

I've played 7th Saga and Knights of the Round from this list. Knights of the Round was a decent arcade port that didn't sacrifice too much in terms of performance. 7th Saga? Well, when it was brought to the US, they reduced the number of attribute points you gain, but not of your rivals, which would lead to very hard, if not impossible, fights if you tried to power-level. I'd wager 7th Saga is one that might benefit from a re-release on better hardware, and maybe a restoration to the Japanese attributes on level-up.

Sonic Blast Man 2 and King of Dragons looks a lot like really hidden gems if you ask me, the original Sonic Blast Man sucked pretty badly but there was a sequel which was a big improvement, but I get the feeling that I'm pretty much the only one in my home town that knows about it...
King of Dragon is like Actraiser, Knight of the Round and Golden Axe mixed up together, and as the game's titles suggests it, a big Red Dragon is on a rampage in the entire realm and it's up to the players to kill the Dragon, simple as that, but don't expect it to be easy...

7th Saga was a flawed gem in many ways. Sadly, they created a fatal flaw when porting it to the US. For the US version, in order to artificially lengthen the game, they decreased the stat gains upon the character leveling up. Also note that the battles against the other apprentices automatically set their levels equal to yours. The big issue is that the enemy apprentices kept their Japanese level up gains. In other words, the higher your level, the further you fall behind your fellow apprentices. This almost makes having Valsu as a character essential. Fortunately, there is a hack that restores the original Japanese level ups, making the game much more forgiving, particularly with the apprentice battles.
