It would be epic, but LAFC and RSL may still have something to say about that. RSL is already playing some of the best soccer in MLS right now and they are bound to only improve as they integrate all their new players. They've become basically Colombia's B team, with a lot of their best players who aren't in Europe. But if LAFC gets Lozano, all bets are off.

St. Louis is Top of the Western Conference (with LAFC right behind) with some really good players along with a world-class goalkeeper, Roman Bürki, who played for Borussia Dortmund.
Inter is bottom of the East, but Messi could very well bring them up to a playoff spot by the end of the year.

Dear God messi has his work cut out for him.
That went as you would expect when a last place team visits a first place team. But I expect that Miami will be a very different team when the MLS season resumes a month from now with Messi and all the other new players they are bringing in. In fact, once they Gregore is back (Sept.?), none of the midfielders who started in this game are likely to see much playing time, with the possible exception of Cremaschi, who is more likely to line up on the wing.
Cremaschi has a bright future. Looking forward to seeing how much he blossoms with Messi and Busquets on the field.
All 3 goals were stopped ball sets, nothing special tata martinez just need to iron that defense and busquets will help with defending

@@Spheterix both players aren't exactly known for their defending lol. alba will help out in the attack while busquets will prevent possession from being lost to teams like st louis as easily, but when possession does get lost, that defense is going to have issues

He didn't get much playtime in the Buli. Yes, the MLS is kinda boring with no relegation and the USA has some safety issues, but I could see him play in St. Louis (which looks relatively safe) for a few more years. At least he can be a starter there and be fully appreciated.
And the league might get it's spikes with more players from Europe joining and several of them being in the same team. You need your own quality players to counter that.
@@stevensiegert Lowen is exactly the type of player MLS teams have learned to target. Someone in their mid-20s who has the quality to play in a Top 5 league but for some reason or another, never quite got the chance to fully show their full potential. Most of the best players in MLS right now either fit this profile or are promising young South Americans.

To be fair I’ve only watched a few Miami matches thru highlights, but in all of those matches it looks like their defense has some serious issues.
Pah, the attack is a disaster. The mls every game the teams dont use their chances to the fullest... People talk about bad defending. But the bad attacking is personally a lot harder to watch, the defenders at least defend here and there. Worse, even with Messi we some of these Miami players dont passing the ball, not shooting when they could, running to the side,etc.
Messi improved the attack players so much, but when you see the first half vs red bull New york you really see awful attacking... Some of these players really need to learn when to pass...

Even with Messi and Busquets Tata has his work cut out for him. Players falling asleep on the set pieces. I'm guessing it is a lack of communication. But you'd expect better defending from pro players.
Part of the problem is that due to their rash of injuries and lack of a bench because of the sanctions Miami received for the Matuidi scandal, half the players in this game aren't really pros. They are kids from the development team.
