When you do get into slime farming-- the way the mob spawning algorithm works, it distributes attempts to spawn mobs evenly across all vertical area that has blocks in it, so with the deeper world, farming slimes down in slime chunks is more difficult than ever. To get practically any to spawn, you need to clear all the land above, and build as low as possible (already a tall order; that's a lot of digging) to concentrate that chunk's spawn attempts where they can actually make slimes-- and to make matters worse, hostile mobs (like slimes) won't attempt to spawn when the hostile mob cap is full (that is, if there are already enough hostile mobs hanging around nearby), so you likely need to light up a huge number of caves all around (and if you miss any spots, hostile mobs may build up there and slow things down for you).
If you don't want to go the world eater route and make a perimeter (daunting in itself, and likely not worth it for slimes alone imo), it might be worth looking into farms that are built on the surface, in swamp biomes. The advantage is that you can build up and hang out way up in the sky, above the farm, and if you get it right, all the caves and most of the surrounding terrain will actually be too far away for hostile mobs to exist-- they'll instantly despawn, focusing all the game's spawn attempts into the farm and making it so you don't need to wait nearly as long for good amounts of slime.
Enjoying the series! Looking forward to more.

Thanks for this feedback, I really appreciate it! I haven't seen a slime farm tutorial since before 1.18 so I wasn't aware of the difficulties caused by the added depth. I recently saw one of those surface swamp slime farms in Docm77's first episode of Hermitcraft 10, looks much easier to build than the slime chunk methods.
