Sri Lanka is not as tricky as you have led us to believe, or else you two would never have gone there.
I.e., it ain't Israel right now, put it that way. 😮
If this place were really that hazardous I rather doubt, knowing how smart you two seem to me, that you would have chanced going there at all.
You two are appealing, enough in my opinion.

I went to Sri Lanka few weeks after the Easter church bombing in 2019. Super friendly people and they were appreciative of me being there. I felt safe as a female solo traveler. It's a beautiful country, enjoy.

Sri Lanka is one of my all time favorites. Amazing culture, history, and geography and I absolutely love their curries. Super friendly and kind people. I stayed with a group of friends at a beach town called Hikkaduwa. We went from there to Colombo. When we checked in at our hotel, we realized one of us was missing a passport. It had been left behind at a scooter rental shop. We called our hotel in Hikkaduwa. Two of the lads from the hotel collected the passport, put on their nicest clothes, and took a 2 hour bus ride to Colombo to bring the passport to our hotel. They refused to accept any money ( we forced them to accept some). Just the nicest people.

Sri Lanka is much more safer then western countries. People are very nice and friendly. Violent crime is very rare. Especially against Foreigners. Tourists just need to beware of being scammed and overcharged. But that's common in most Asian countries. Enjoy.

The part about safety / travel warnings about Sri Lanka was jarring. We've been several times and have never felt unsafe. It's an amazing place to go solo. I hope your visit has changed your mind for the better.
Its all western propaganda and prejudice. For all the rampant crimes and violence happening daily in some american cities and wars happening in europe, the rest of the world should be issuing outright travel bans to the US and EU.

Omg! My heart to be so full watching this vlog ! I visited Sri Lanka at 2014 and still can I remember flavors of fruits , specially mango , and pineapple with cinnamon and meals! I would like to visit Kandy and Ella, but was raining too much, so stayed at Nuwara Eliya so cute place at tea plantation village.
Really we can feel like old years ago ! You see the technology but people and things looking like old times!
I come back to Brazil and my heart stayed there asking to come back!

There was a simple acomodation B&B name The Field who was manager Mr Harold, Tuk Tuk driver Mr Damika who found for us in the last time causa the bus came at Nuwara Eliya very late at 1 am and finish time to do check in. But this was the best happened for us has great experience. We stayed there for 1 week.I hope you can to find . I unfortunately lost contact.

Went to Sri Lanka at the end of Aug 2023 for 16 day with the hubby. Very quickly and easily became our favourite country to visit. It is one country we definitely plan to visit again someday. The people, culture, history and food are hands down the best.

Im living in Sri Lanka and its raining for more than two months now , and it rained almost everyday for these 2+ months to SL

and my 3 story house was look like a white mansion until last month and now I cant even imagine whats this house😂this is now 100% perfect for a scary movie location , outside white walls have now turned to light green 😂💔Im still waiting for a perfect sunny day to clean those moss/algae/lichen up.feels like Im living in a rainforest🥲

Sri Lanka is totally safe and visit Sri Lanka to have memorable experiences! This island has a lot to offer! The below are the main reasons why you should visit Sri Lanka,
1. Sri Lanka is a year around holiday destination.
2. More tourist attractions and different climates within less time (the beach areas have a warm climate and the hill country has a cool climate).

This is so cool - Your tour guide is amazing - He has shown you so many things that other tourists would not have the opportunity to see. Just as an observation, Lloyd will have two complete arm sleeves before the year ends. I just finished mine while in Thailand for three months!

Man, this is a quite good vlog, the music, and the visuals, are all artistic, and I haven't seen some historical places in any other vlogs. It's a wise decision to have a local guide, if not you can get hustled. Many independent travelers face hustling in towns like Kandy and Colombo, but the village is a different story, I think you might have a better understanding by now. When you head up to the village you will feel at home. Sri Lankan people are very different, ethical, and friendly, and their hospitality is incredible. They love tourists, and they treat tourists like kings and queens. Have a safe journey guys, excited to see the rest. Enjoy! 🇱🇰❤✌P.S: Especially the local food here, we eat all medicines and herbal in a different tasty way, with rich use of spices. Which keeps us away from many diseases. The herbal porridge is a very healthy drink. And coconut sambols, many will love it.

Great to see you guys in Sri Lanka. We have been following your travels from Vietnam to Mexico and in-between. I was born in Sri Lanka and lived there till my late 20s before moving to US. We loved your Vietnam series and will be considering some of your tips for our upcoming trip to Northern Vietnam in mid November 2023 (next month). Your Colombo city tour was great, and I am embarrassed to mentioned that I have not visited some of the places that you'll went. Sri Lanka cuisine is delicious. Try Hoppers, string hoppers and some authentic village rice and curry if you plan to go out of Colombo. 99.9% of the people are kind hearted and genuine. Beware of some of the tuk-tuk scammers. Enjoy Sri Lanka!

We visited SL in Feb and loved it! Returned in July, set up a small company and bought an apartment to use and lease. 1/2 way between the airport and Colombo on the beach, wonderful.
Working with friendly local to set up and run is an adventure in itself!
You guys made some awesome changes for longevity on traveling. I try and adjust to the time zone the following day by staying up with the sun and going to sleep with the moon. It’s usually a total 180 turn for timeframes of sleeping. It’s usually pretty easy to adjust to visiting country but harder when you travel west. For me, back to America, and it always takes me so much more time to acclimate.

I am proud Being a Sri Lankan and contributing to Tourism. Sri Lanka has been a safe place to Tourists always and probably you will not find a cleaner country in South Asia than Sri Lanka. Yes we have to accept that scams are there al over the world and unsafe situations are there in most of the countries (Mostly if you involve in un wanted situations) also keep in your mind as a tourist there should be limit to mix up with local communities and local life

There are many, many interesting places of attraction for you to visit here in Sri Lanka, even in the Colombo City itself. Please look out for heigene when eating from roadside small stalls.

Wow You guys toured the busiest and most congested part of Colombo which is 10 12 13 14 and 15( a delve into the Bowell's of Colombo) which house and are frequented by traders conducting wholesale business(fruits Veggies spices tea and other commodities and in large volumes, and divided into varying clusters such as electrical hardware and so on the food culture in the area caters to serve the crowd that pours in on a daily basis day or night. I am really happy you guys toured this part of town keeping true to your caption in the thumbnail.

Being shown any ropes by any local is usually the way to go however scammers are everywhere as well.
It always pays to be cautious regardless especially when one is a Foreigner in a foreign land.

If you don't visit Sri Lanka you will never experience a true tropical paradise.
This is the capital city and its the annual South West monsoon rainy season. If you are fortunate enough watch all their videos in the next few weeks and you will be amazed at what this beautiful country can offer. There is so much variety packed into a such a small country, you can go from hot weather to chilly hill climbes within a few hours, from pristine beaches to tropical rain forest within 2 hours. If you are into culture heritage stuff you have the ancient ruins, nature, adventure sports or safari and the biggest asset its friendly smiling caring people.
Won't be surprised if you make a booking to get here yourself.😂 😅
