Similar to my family, both sides - my father when he was 9 yo, his parents & several relatives all emigrated here legally from Germany, and my moms parents both from europe. My father even didn't allow any german to be spoken in our house, only when we went to visit his mom and sister at their house. My father was also a lieutenant in the army during wwII. All of my family's legally emigrated people were proud to become Americans.

As a retired Correction Officer, I've experienced working is some very overcrowded, under staffed facilities; there were so many new bookings and movement that it was almost impossible to keep a proper count. And then, when someone would call in "sick" because they couldn't get a day off, they would "Mandate" some of us on shift to work another double shift!
