Countries set criteria for letting someone get citizenship, It depends on things like "are you providing something valuable to the country, are you having a job in the country, do you have lived in this country for a long interval of time, do you do business in the country, is your spouse a US citizen, etc." I hope I have explained the citizenship criteria in brief.

When someone comes to your house you want them to come to the front door, knock, wait for you to answer the door, and then YOU make a decision to let them in or not to let them in.
What you don’t want is for someone to sneak in your back door without your knowledge and steal what you have.

My Father came from Mexico in the 50’s under a migrant work program called Braceros. He worked putting out fires in different states as where needed and put in some serious work. He was given citizenship for my entire family so he brought everyone over and we are hard working American citizens. I live in Northern California and work on the freeways. I’m the guy building All the concrete Barriers in the middle and paving concrete pavement up and down the state. I was the only one born here and for that I am proud of my father. As for everyone cheating the system straight garbage. Close the border build the wall. Enough of free hand out’s. Not fair to those who do things the correct way in my opinion.
My uncle came the same way, through the bracero program. He then brought his wife, wife's sisters and MIL. My mom was one of the sisters. I'm proud to be American and of my heritage. I will never forget the sacrifices my family made to thrive in this country. My mom made miracles out of tortillas, queso y frijoles because my parents were too proud to ask for a government handout. We made due with what we had. People coming over under this joke of an administration want everything just handed to them. And who funds all this? Regular citizens like you and I. I have a special needs child, an AMERICAN CITIZEN, who I am constantly advocating for. He was denied disability benefits. His therapy costs thousands of dollars yet these illegals get medical care for free. Makes me sick to my stomach.

Which is why people just come across illegally. It's just too difficult to do it the "right" way if you have nothing before you come here.
