Thanks for this how to. I also have the knock outs hidden in the back and I was wondering how I was going to mount the switches before I found your video. Thanks! I plan to put the heated grips next thumb in tomorrow. If not it will have to wait until next days off. But I’ll get it done before the snow flies 🇨🇦👍
I use high hold hair spray when putting grips back on, when its wet, its lubes the grip allowing easy install, then as the hair spray dries, it forms a bond between the grip and the bar. Been doing it for years, always worked well...
I did this on bikes as a kid. Really didn't feel like it was necessary here. The grips are pretty snug with the thickness of the heater elements and I think the heat helps seal the rubber as well. Might be worth it for non EPS models since you'll be tugging on the bars a bit more.
This helped more than you may realize. I have the same head unit on my 2021 Prem. Touring 570 (for whatever reason). Other videos I've seen show the knockouts for the switches on the front of the unit. I wouldn't have guessed they put some on the back. Cheers
Thanks for taking the time to make this video

Glad it helped.
You put the grip on the same way as you remove them !! Works great
I’ll definitely do that if I ever need to replace them.
