Please pray for me as I am not able to get past the physical attraction factor and open heartedly consider the relationship God has set in front of me.

Even if you married the "wrong" person rather than the "right" person ... JESUS can redeem you and your spouse and your marriage.

I bind being or thinking to be unattractive in character and appearance in agreement with this whole message and song of solomon 1, proverbs 5:19 and proverbs 2:10, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

I know of Christian marriages that are toxic ( at least in most cases for the for the wives ) not so much physical abuse but more emotional " his statement marriages that they were on the brink of divorce were saved." really .. ( or does the abused conceded to that life) maybe they shouldn't of been saved . churches are more concerned about saving a marriage then the safety or happiness of the people or more so of a singular person in it . I've seen times when the church would side with the abuser just to try to keep the marriage together of course the abuser ( narcissist ) thinks there is nothing wrong in the marriage , the Christian culture is a good place to hide toxicity .

So sorry you feel that way! I am a witness that God saves marriages! I got married at 18, and filed for divorce when I was 26. No abuse, we were just immature and too busy focusing in the wrong things rather then trying to grow/mature individually AND as a couple. During this time, I was not serving Christ. I remember one night I was really upset and I cried, and said “Lord, if you want me to serve you, you will have to change that man first!” (How selfish right? I was making a deal 🤝 with God in order to get what I wanted.) A month or 2 after that, we called off divorce and decided to give it another try. And in November of that year, my husband let himself be guided by God and really changed. Not perfect, not sinless, not holier than thou, but just a change of heart, true repentance. 4 years of following Christ, ups and downs, but hand in hand with God. We are more solid than ever, thanks to Jesus Christ 🙌🏻

I’ve never read it in the Holy Scriptures-just many words taught by preachers. The Lord does not mention it in his word or pull up anyone for sex before marriage. So, I say, why sweat about it? Enjoy your freedom in God.

@@companyboss5447 Hello brother in Christ. Yes the Bible does teach that sex outside of marriage is a sin.
1 Corinthians 6:9-12 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither FORNICATORS, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”
We are called to be holy as our risen Lord is holy. ❤
1 Thess. 4:3 “this is the will of God: your sanctification; that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust like the gentiles who do not know God.”.
Our Lord’s will is for us to be sexually pure in body and spirit. As it is sinful to engage in sexual acts outside of marriage. I pray this will encourage you to choose our Lord and not sexual immorality ❤️❤️ Bless you.

If you read Song of Solomon according to the traditional interpretation, there is no reason to blush, as it depicts the love between Christ and the Church, or God and Israel; myself, I read it as Platonic allegory. The literal reading of it as sanctified erotica is a very modern prejudice - just to be clear.

11:05 What support of this “biblical mindset” that God lays out a “type of person” to look for rather than a one? I can lay out support that God *does* providentially choose our spouse: Adam & Eve, Rebecca, and Isaac, Mary and Joseph, Ruth & Boaz, Jacob & Rachel.
I dont like teachings like this that rob God of His providence. By saying we have some list of people to choose from you claim to have at the very least God-given sovereignty of how your future plays out and I find that ridiculous juxtaposed to the reality that God knows all, that He has positioned all to act according to His will, and if a person is at their proper maturation and desiring a spouse; God would provide the circumstances for that to come about, not because that person just decided for it to happen. There are so many factors at play when just entering the dating pool alone, even at church, that to say its based solely on our choice is foolish.
