Colder weather has also started to set in here in the NW of England so like you two I've got to start sowing seeds for the glasshouses. Thanks for nudge to get going on this! Best wishes and stay safe.
Hello Brian, very nice to meet you today, I saw you subscribed to my channel and came over to visit you. I know I will enjoy your channel, we are going to build a green house next summer. I love gardening, I am not the best at it, but I try every year. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
Hi Sandra ! nice to meet you . Love your photography!. Just yesterday I filmed a huge flock of geese flying over our farm. I think I will add it into our next video.
Good idea! A green house can be made from recycled materials , cost very little, but can be an essential tool when things become difficult in this world, to be able to grow your own greens in a time of need I would also say it is a must for anyone into prepping. Ours is the size of a garden shed, most people have a shed they could convert by installing windows on the sunny side.
As the world gets nearer to the book of Revelation, you probably will have a chance to use it in the very near future. Its always good to have a backup plan .
It did fairly well, it was too cool for the watermelon but the salad greens and tomatoes did well , the Garlic has already popped and is ready for the outdoors. Spring is around the corner so we we will start the seedlings now and get the garden ready once the snow melts LOL
@@solarbrianyvonne That’s cool. I’m getting a small hoop house going soon. Unfortunately our winter months have no sun bc the trees block it, but I can get some early growing in late winter. Have a great day!
Hi Ming ! we are still eating tomatoes ( miniature ) just ate a beautiful red one yesterday such a sweet flavor ! I pollinate the tomato flowers once a week by hand with a qtip. The watermelon did not like the cooler temperatures and did not grow properly , Garlic has already sprouted and looks great . The lettuces did well and we ate lots till the cooler temps set in . Now that its almost spring we will replant the watermelon and all the other ones we like and get an early start on the season.
OMG! OMG! OMG! Just found your channel tonight and I can’t believe you are in Saskatchewan. the wife and i are moving from Quebec to Saskatchewan this spring. We just bought a 10 acre property and are so excited to make our way to off-grid living too :) In what area are you guys?
@@solarbrianyvonne yes, we made sure there was a nice well with good water and there is also a good amount of trees all around. We are going to be a few minutes outside of Foam lake! It’s incredible! I think we will be less than 1 hour distance..... :-)
@@sidneylefrancois3204 Hi Sidney. We drive by Foam lake quite often , its a nice town, good people and excellent farm land, I believe you are in the zone 3 soil area ( same as us) which is extremely good for you because you can grow anything on that type of soil. (grow your own food that sort of thing) ... it has a small hospital and you are only 2 hours away from a major city , cell service is good and you should be able to get high speed data to your house. Our environments are nearly identical and only 60 minutes apart... we can help you get started in the right direction regarding solar off grid, green houses, water purification and farming small scale to live self-sufficiently. you can do quite a bit on a 10 acre chunk of land.
@@solarbrianyvonne this is such a sweet offer. We are definitely saying yes to you guys teaching us stuff. We know we have a lot to learn but are eager and very excited to get on to this journey. There is definitely a lot of home made Kamboocha and sour bread coming your way for this priceless knowledge. Xxxxx
Hi Flowers and textures! our zone is 3b . Yes we have a green house it is heated by solar exclusively. no wood, no electric or propane, I published a video about it on our channel . czcams.com/video/fran-17aw_k/video.html
Glass truly is the best material for a greenhouse. Many a test have proven this to be true. Thank you Off Grid with Brian & Yvonne.
Indeed ! and when its free its even better!
Winter Watermelon! Gotta Love that! We tried growing carrots, but guess we did not have enough water, or something. Thanks for sharing!
Ya some things we are not able to grow either , but its fun to try , Thanks for stopping in !
Wow very nice planting my friend!
thank you, we will check out your channel too
This inspires me to build a greenhouse next year.
Most homeowners have a shed they could convert into a greenhouse !
Interested in being more self reliant.. I have been growing container veggies and fruit along with some aquaponics in my backyard.. Thanks for posting
We look forward to seeing what you do and lean from Aquaponics with your videos too!
Super cool channel gonna have to subscribe. If I keep subscribing to homesteaders I won’t have any minutes left to watch everybody 😂 lol
Welcome aboard! More cool videos on their way!
Love yalls setup!
Awesome ! we will check out your vids too!
Interesting to see how it turns out :)
indeed... every year is different in the greenhouse, and its nice to eat your own fresh salad instead of having to buy it in winter.
@@solarbrianyvonne yes exactly we crave it more then too ;)
Great video 👍 I enjoyed it! ❤️
thanks , we will check out you channel too!
Hey Y'ALL from Collierville Tn. We just subbed you back! Great channel. Lane and Rhonda
Hi Lane and Rhonda nice to meet you ! and thank you
I built a greenhouse last year and have not had time to use it . maybe when I slow down. In a few more years .
make sure its ready to go, in times of economic uncertainty having your own greens during a crisis will be important.
Colder weather has also started to set in here in the NW of England so like you two I've got to start sowing seeds for the glasshouses. Thanks for nudge to get going on this! Best wishes and stay safe.
Thank you, we will be watching your progress too!
Hey, thanks for the support. Jumped over also. And my name is Brian also. 😀

@@solarbrianyvonne I love filming geese. They are never to afraid of people so I can get real close to them sometimes. They are beautiful birds.
i am thinking next year I might make a greenhouse out of windows and boost my vegs
