  • The Low Dye taping technique is a way to prevent excessive motion to the foot. Many different lower foot and ankle conditions such as plantar fasciitis require the reduction of motion for adequate recovery.

    This taping method has helped my arch pain more than any other method. I have very high arches.

    I feel relief just looking at this application. Thank you

    I've been having mid foot pain for years. I also have professional orthotics. It's good to hear that the issue is load. I have not thought the arches high enough in the orthotics. Also, in terms of midfoot pain, a family member purchased me a pair of Crocs (original design) and I learned that I couldn't even have a light weight hit that area or I'd get shocks of nerve pain.
    Between low volume, flat (medium arch that falls), hypermobile feet with gout in one toe (female since age 22... have no clue why as I don't have the lifestyle issues associated with gout), slim but not narrow feet with a narrow heel and low ankles, Morton's neuromas (which I got at 56 by wearing some flip flops with arch support and a heel cup), and now this upper foot pain for the last decade, finding shoes has been an a nightmare throughout life (not to mention I wore a 9.5 in the US when makers often didn't carry 9.5). So many shoes that are supposed to fit the bill to help one or more of my foot issues either have stitching across the gout area, have a heel (I can't tolerate more than 1/4" heel because the orthotics also have a bit of a rise and anything more than 1/2" causes me to teeter toward sesamoiditis and aggravates the gout), or the toes turn up unnaturally aggravating multiple Morton's neuromas.
    Thanks. I needed to whine somewhere. Have been watching taping for MN. I'd like to see taping for MN and this upper foot pain. Perhaps I can figure out how to put the two together. My feet will look mummified.

    I use a similar taping technique, taught by the podiatrist, and it works. You want to limit the motion of the fascii...

    Why do other videos specifically say not to use kinesio tape.

    • @needlessdestruction

      Because you want it to be ridge and support. Kt doesn't do that.

    Iv been running for 13 yrs in my vibrams. I was running some crazy trail course & a rock smashed into my heal then a root right after. Ever since its hurt so bad. Some days its like I dont have an issue but I ran 5 miles today & I went up a small steepish hill and something felt like it stabbled me right under my heal. 😬 needless to say I'm starting to get discouraged bcz I race every weekend and I can't even perform at my 7 min pace its super frustrating. I'd like to try to do this tapping in hopes it really helps relieve some of the pain 🙏

    If you're avoiding skin wrinkles why did you leave them there?????

    • @CanaleInsensato

      He is avoiding the "wrinkles on the tape itself" (4:06 of the video) whereas the skin wrinkles may happen because they are not a problem in the procedure

    Hey guys - this is Great! I'm recovering from a Stone Procedure on my rt big toe 2nd joint to remove the golf generated bone spurs. Surgery was almost a yr ago - scar tissue prevents any flexion in the joint and now I have major pain in my 2nd/3rd Metatarsals - XRays and MRI w/ Contrast say no stress fracture but it's swollen and painful consistent with one. I do have custom orthodics from my pod. but still tons of pain.
    Love this tape technique to start stabilizing - what more can I do to secure the pad and support the Mets?

    this taping should have been done w athletic tape- KT tape Should NOT be stretched at the ends and should be cut rounded so it stays on- there are better tapes for plantar using KT than this one-

      After using athletic tape, I tried using K-Tape. It works! Of course it doesn’t feel as rigid as athletic tape, but it feels good and reduces the pain. And it definitely helps to round the corners of the tape.

  • @trainerjoefitness6615
    @trainerjoefitness6615 Před 4 lety +3

    Not good use. Round your ends to avoid peeled corners, and do not touch the sticky that much. Also not sure why it took so many pieces. Watch other vids 😉

      Okay, I have painful plantar fasciitis. BFST is helping healing less pain but my impatience and desire to resume my usual activity level has me seeking additional measures to accelerate and increase the speed up of healing. If I can just use athletic tape rather than Kinesio tape and achieve the desired support without negative effects then I'll change out/retape daily. He "waterproofness" is not an issue.

    If you're using Kinesio tape, then you aren't doing Low dye taping - this article is more harmful than helpful.

      Actually, I really like using K-Tape like this. I’ve been using low-dye taping with Athletic Tape which is excellent, but using K-Tape really reduces the foot pain.

      You can order it online, or many drugstores carry it under different brand names. Just ask for K-Tape.

    Might as well use that tape for a foot tape job. 'Cause it doesn't do anything for what it claims to do in it's advertising.

    CAN this be done with Duct Tape???

    • @brimstone33
      @brimstone33 Před 4 lety

      NO. Not for long anyway. Duck tape (not duct tape, which is used for HVAC duct joints) does not let moisture pass through and in a matter of hours it would begin to degrade the skin, eventually leading to something like trenchfoot. You could use a medical tape like Luekotape, or athletic tape, but Ktape works best because it has a nice springy stretch which supports with gradual pressure.

    By my experience as a physio- so much crap! I love kinesio, but can't handle people like this one...
    Obviously it helps if you wrap the whole foot in tape...but it has nothing to do with using KTape properly

    • @jlester4892

      K tape, scotch tape, duct tape. K tape doesn't do shit. Placebo.
