  • Check out this Indonesian 24 Hour MRE - this Ration Pack weighs 4 and 1/2 pounds, is filled with amazing and interesting food, snacks, and drinks, and was truly one of the most interesting and incredible Rations I've ever had.
    Huge thanks to Stanley Productions for supplying this and two more upcoming reviews -- the T2 PJ (Freeze Dried 2 lb, 9oz) and the T2 SP (Canned 3 lb 8 oz) options.

    minkal = minuman kalori (cereal)
    viteral = vitamin mineral drink
    love your videos mate. there's more around of 4 or 5 other ration types.
    - Konseven-in-a-can = main course without rice
    - konserven-in-a-pouch = main course without rice
    - T2SP = all rice and meat pack together in a can + crackers etc
    - T2PJ = dired rice, just add hot water. This is the most tastiest.
    - FDC ration = Susu Komando/Commando Milk. I saw you already got some
    keep it up ! 😀

    Fishballs are extremely popular throughout all of Asia as a form of comfort food. I understand that they may come off as strange and processed (they usually are) to someone who didn't grow up with them, but to an Indonesian soldier, they would make for a good morale boost.

      It's not the best idea to pull all of your eggs into one basket, so to speak. Under duress, you're supposed to eat what you can when you can. Having all of your calories in one dish of wet food that you can't just whip out little portions of throughout the day would cause many, if not most of the soldiers on front lines to just go hungry most of the time.

    I'm glad I found your channel. What's really spectacular about all of these soldier rations that you go through(and I think it would give you more content to cover) is the amount of thought involved by the teams of dieticians and food chemists. Not forgetting to mention the work of production that produce them. There is also some psychology involved. Great job so far. Good luck with your channel.

Sometimes is has milk or coconut water too. I'll bet that's what the first drink was. It's usually drunk hot in Indonesia and is considered a "cool weather" drink, or as cool as it ever gets in the lowlands. It's all relative in Indonesia. We had one night where it got down to 65 and everyone was running around in jackets and shivering.

The Kostrad guys and elites definitely have modern gears, they are equipped to fight a modern war. They are after all, the core of the army,they are the ones we deploy,send overseas or currently in the fight against terorists. Kodam guys in the other hand are teritorial army they act much like reserves. mostly married and old men. The army didnt prioritize anything on them. They rarely carry arms and when they do its a cold war relic. They mainly work humanitarian or serve as extra hands for the police. some story said they pack their own meals from home instead of being issued rations during disaster relief op. so Its not a surprise that if the majority of them never even see these rations.

      *Gabriel Gianni* Not sure. But Kwong sounds Chinese and Indonesians from Chinese descent often give their children European names.

    It's a bit odd that they supply a fuel tab stove with plastic trays and retort pouches. Separate metal mess kit or pots, perhaps?

      Indonesian soldiers always bring a small folder metal parafin stove, a flusk with metal cover that can be used to cook water, and a folded shovel that can be used to dig up the ground for the stove's place, as their gear.
