2018 Lithuanian Food Ration MRE Review Meal Ready to Eat Taste Testing
Vložit

- The Lithuanians are eating well with these rations. Like the stewed pork with pearl barley in this one - talk about a delicious and quite normal tasting meal. Perfect for camping trips in cooler weather - but be careful with those biscuits as they can be rough on the teeth. I had a fun time doing this review, and it is about time here doing a Lithuanian MRE as these are quite common in the ration world. And I've enjoyed them for a good while now, and these things have not changed very much at all in the last 6 years. Anyway, up next are some older rations, gettin' served up on a silver tray. Can't go wrong.

LET'S GET THIS OUT ONTO A TRAY, NICE™
NICE HISS™
I'LL BE COMING BACK AT YOU WITH SOMETHING NEW OR OLD, ALRIGHT COOL SEE YA™ - Zábava
These long stints without an upload makes me worry if he died of food poisoning.
....or that he ran away with the spoon
Wish he'd do a teaser post showing what he's working on every so often.
Food poisoning(?) Steve1989 kills 'food poisoning'.
He needs to recover
Steve has an interesting upload schedule usually 1 or 2 a month
Steve needs to start his own MRE-only restaurant chain: "Steve's Nice Trays"
Every restaurant has a perturbed cat next to the door. "Nice hiss!"
everytime they get an order they have to say "Now lets get this onto a tray"
"Fresh Frozen MREs!"
Gordon Ramsay: Excuse me...? 😠
And you have to heat the food yourself with an frh.
Do not - I repeat, DO NOT - order the Chinese food. Especially if it's on sale.
To answer the mystery: After eating it up, you are supposed to pack the trash back into the original bag. Than you close it with the zip tie. Here.
k
"You gotta try Lithuanian chicken broth at least once in your life"
Such wise words Steve.
literally threw it away every time i got it, is it actually decent? lol
@@H3rmit_ did you even watch the video?
It's great as far as broth goes. Has the thickness of those maggi instant soups.
2:25 Not true my friend. That zip tie is very important. You will need it to fix your spoon when it breaks.
HA quick thinking!
LMAO!
There's some triple-w-knot that hasn't been invented that you need to show us for that to be true.
As someone who's eaten a number of those towels, I can assure you they are NOT refreshing in the slightest.
Do they come with cherry flavor?
@MarSec C It's a Hank from Madness Combat
Do they taste like chicken?

"that is masterly delicious"
Lol
Nahahaa
If, in a future video, he casually takes that biscuit back out of his back pocket to eat with another meal, I'll lose my mind.
Watch the one where he eats hardtack from the 1860s...
And it came to pass.
That's great, which video?
Zip tie: yay I’m part of the army!
Steve: it’s basically useless.
Zip tie: 🥺😧
Ah thank you for the laugh that was awesome
*laughs in 2nd Lieutenant*
Just in case somebody was actually wondering, zip tie's designed purpose is to zip up the original packet after you collect litter into it after the meal to keep our forests clean.
Story of the Littlest Zip-tie coming to Netflix early this year.
Steve says matches and zip tie are useless. Lithuania declares war!
what a wholesome guy, apologizes to a matchbox
Lol
Matchboxes are people too!
20 of them even formed a famous band..
I really want there to be an episode of Chopped where Steve is a guest judge and the secret basket ingredients all come from MREs.
Yes
Please
"And for your secret ingredient... Coffee Instant, Type 2!"
“They have a blue tip so that’s a plus”
Ronnie Camp other than that, they’re terrible .. sorry lol!
Different tip colours mean different things maybe?
@@are6ix138 Yeah, that they're blue.
And they give you *40* of them.
@@are6ix138, I *think* it means that they are "strike anywhere" matches
The Zip Tie is clearly so you can attach your Panzerwaffles to your rifle for tactical snacking.
Most logical usage suggestion for the zipties yet.

I feel sorry for anyone that hasn't seen one of Steve's MRE videos.
Honestly. This man is a national treasure
Seriously. It used to come up on my recommended tab for so long and I would wonder why in the world would anybody want to watch this. Then one day I gave in and now I can’t stop watching. I’m actually mad at myself for having missed out for so long.
Holly115 Agreed
haha I've never been in the military and I've never had an MRE, however I stumbled across this channel a couple of years ago and it's kind of my guilty pleasure on CZcams. It's good stuff as Steve is actually a very good food reviewer and knows what he's talking about when it comes to all types of rations.
Sometimes we all need our fix of this channel it's just so damn addictive. Thank you Steve 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸✌️👍👏

@@elcheffe3460 don't try FDF old style rations, or you'll regret it, everyone who ate them had the shits, and they also taste horrendous as they are almost all soy based some sort of pasta and very bland. The one exception would be the Goulash one which actually had meat in it (horse if I recall correctly) and is in a can, that is one of the few edible ones. I used to stuff my pack full of instant noodle packs because they were aeons better than the shit they gave us as "food".

im actually a little surprised Lithuania has its own MRE's. To give you a rough idea of how small Lithuania is it has a population of about 2.8 million and a GDP of about $56bil while the city of Seattle metropolitan area (a mid range city by American standards) has a population of about 3.9mil and a GDP of about $360bil. If Lithuania were to join the US and the whole country were treated as a singel city metropolitan area they wouldn't even make the top 50 by GDP since #50 is urban Honolulu at about $65bil.
The language and culture of it's people make it a country, not an arbitrary dollar value.
Pretty ignorant way to look at the world.
@@CNYKnifeNerd big countries have a tendency to absorb smaller ones, which is why the 100 little Germany's are now 2 major German nations (Austria and Germany, those heathen northern germanic countries in Scandinavia dont count) and why the hundreds of native tribes were conquered by america, spain, and england. Russia's love of the Baltic makes the Baltic states a prime target for expansion, and being stuck between Germany and Russia the situation all the more likely for either country to have merely engulfed them. It's actually pretty amazing they managed to break away from the Soviet Union since it wouldn't have taken much to have just steamrolled the Baltic states during their revolution rather then give up the Soviet/Russian access to the Baltic. I didnt really explain it well, but I'm more surprised they produce their own rations and equipment since that's like Seattle producing it's own MREs and equipment, thanks to economy of scale it seems more likely they'd have just bought MREs and equipment from another nation. I guess MREs are a small ticket item compared to a fighter jet but still
@@CNYKnifeNerdnah, conscious effort by Lithuanian nationalists at the beginning of the 20th century, years of warring for independence and a good amount of luck (power vacuum in Eastern Europe after WWI) is what made it a country. There were many who would have had the nation of Lithuanians be stateless like the Kurds are now.
@@arthas640yeah, I think the last point is the major factor. Things like MREs don't cost much in the grand scheme of things.
@@viliussmproductions Yeah but it's often cheaper and easier to import rather than produce domestically when you dont need many MREs, especially since small militaries like the Baltic states are purely about domestic security so they're unlikely to need MREs much since they'll be sticking close to major cities and bases. Especially since they both host NATO forces and work with NATO quiet a bit I'm kind of surprised they dont just import MREs from another NATO member, or pool their resources and work with another nearby country with a similar cuisine and produce MREs for multiple countries (like having a single set of Baltic MREs). Even outside of cost that can help with production as well thanks to economy of scale.
Love this channel, but one of my fav moments are the musical spoon taps after mixing the drinks. A+ Steve1989! Thank you!
I heard Steve pulls up to Mcdonalds, orders his food, drives off, then goes back and picks it up 2 to 100 years later.
This has to be one of the first MREs I've seen without at least one packet of coffee or tea.
It varies between those choices for the 10 ration variants.
Wasn't the Israeli and maybe Greek like that as well?
Lithuanians drink only vodka.
That chicken broth was here instead of coffee/tea. Don't know if that's common in other countries, but we have a choice to buy chicken broth in the coffee machines here in Lithuania too.
