- Test ride and first impressions of the 2022 Honda ADV150. I never thought I’d see one for sale in my area, so you know when I did, I just had to buy it! Join me on my maiden voyage of this cool little adventure style scooter! Honda is the best when it comes to small displacement motorcycles, and this scooter is no exception! With bikes like the Monkey, Grom, Trail 125, Ruckus, Super Cub, and now the ADV150, Honda fires on all cylinders in the mini-Moto game.
- Zábava
Yes everyone, the handlebars were crooked. A quick trip to the dealership a few weeks later and they fixed them. Thanks for watching!
What it the gas mileage on that bike ?
104.8 mpg as if last fill up.
@@GasWorksISO 44 km/l
Just don't get the whole 'embarrassment' element of scooter ownership. A bike is about freedom! Whether powered or not, massive or small, it doesn't matter what you're on, as long as you're having fun!
Great video - I'd happily own one based on this vid alone 😊
You are one of the main reasons. I bought a 150 ADV. I have owned a lot of motorcycles and this is the most fun I have ever had
It’s one of my favorite bikes I’ve owned. Can’t really explain why except that it feels like an extension of me when I ride it. Effortless in handling and quick enough for 90% of the riding I do. I hope to keep it for a long time.
Welcome to the ADV 150 family! Great to see others enjoying this bike. What I like most is how simple riding a motorbike can be! You'll have lots of fun on this.
Thanks! I Can’t stop riding it! I’ve put 200 miles on it this week and I’m really impressed.
@@GasWorksISO Nice! I'm going on a group ride with nearly a dozen bikes tomorrow so that should be a blast. I'll probably be the only so-called scooter. lol
The 150 was made for congested Southeast Asian cities. For the American market, a 350 would be freeway legal and cheaper than the 750..
I had my eye on a Forza 300 until I found out they don’t sell them in the states. We’re lucky we got this ADV150 at all.
I nice bike I think the top speed is 70 and 76 for the new PCX160. I still can’t decide which to get
I have a 2021 ADV 150 with about 1100 miles and I love it for my first bike. I am averaging 117 mpg and have hit 65 mph top speed. Great scooter and great review!!
Do you need a motorcycle license for this?
@@story1234 I do in idaho
@@story1234 You do but call around to different places because when I took my test, they had scooters I could take the test on, as opposed to having to use an actual motorcycle and worry about shifting gears and all of that. It was insanely easy.
I rode a Honda 750/4 for years until I tried a Honda scooter about 20 years ago. Hey don't wave at me , screw it. Love my scooters
I just did my first oil change at 600 miles in October. Winter is coming in Iowa so riding time is limited. Very pleased with performance and ride at this point.👍
Great video and initial review, thanks so much for sharing! Enjoy and have a fantastic day!
Congratulations! Happy for you that you found what you were looking for. Nice first ride video! Looks like its going to be a fun little ride for around town. I'm looking forward to your next video on it. Gas mileage, storage and how your break in period goes. Go have some fun!
One of the nicest looking scooters out there. I want one.
Wait for the ADV350
@@VegitoBlackityBlack when will that come out? I'm in Australia.
@@Andytheevien maybe around December.
Me too. I pick it up Saturday 🤣

"...strike while the iron is hot..." I heeded your words and bought mine in February of this year. There were four ADVs in the Spokane, WA area, three in Spokane and one in Coeur d'Alene, ID. By the first week of March, all of them had been sold! Thanks for those words and for your inspiring me to buy it. It would've gnawed at me for who knows how long if I had missed the opportunity to get it. Please keep pumping out the ADV videos! We are a small group for now but I think that will change over the next year or so!
Congrats on the purchase! I have plans of taking mine on short overland trip if the weather ever gets better around here. Winter doesn’t seem to want to let go this year..
Awesome! Enjoy! Look forward to the content with your new scooter!
Thanks for the demonstration and video, a very nice scooter. I have the same fun experience on my smax 155, cruising around at 60mph, top speed 75mph, everyone should own one scooter
Awesome video. Pick mine up 12/29/2021 and I'm loving it.
I had a 150cc scooter for commuting for a few years. You're right, those things are FUN! And handy, with all the under seat storage. I'd totally rock one of these.
Always cool to watch your videos👍
I agree that the handlebars look crooked. What was your final thought after getting used to the bike?
I'm a motorcyclist And always have had an eye on a cool scooter.
Personally, I really like how the Japanese custom scooters look, all low and long, 250 cc powered... You've got a nice looking ride there!!!
Awesome! I've been eyeing those for a bit. Had a Yamaha 125 I miss at times. Look forward to see how it does...especially cruising and top speed on freeway. Also up hills. I'm sure it will be just fine. Congratulations!
Same here
I'm going back and forth between this and the PCX. Leaning more toward this every day. Nice video. Thanks.
Forgot to mention I'll be watching more oqfq your videos on it.
I'll get both. At least one hybrid.
Wonderful! I recently bought mine and passed my basic riders test. So looking forward to riding my Honda ADV150!
You are the second “scooter guy” I have found on here (both by complete accident. That said; you both have the same “happy to be here” personality and it’s awesome. I’m going to find some “scooter folk” and see how my night goes. I need positive people in my life DESPERATELY! I won’t ride a scooter, but I like the options on that screen. I nerd out over that stuff. If it had a military time option; oh man. A Corbin seat person too?! Cool. Fun and reasonable people; the lot of you. I hope you enjoy your day and I’m going to enjoy this short adventure. Thank you
Awesome ADV!!! I picked one up at the end of July!!! Enjoy! Ride Safe!!
What was the OTD price? I'm trying to locate one now.
Great video. Thanks for your assessment and comments. I, like you, have never rode a scooter but this ADV 150 looks very nice. I'm currently shopping for something in the 125 to 150 class. There is a lot to choose from out there.
Thank you for sharing the video!
Nice review, that scooter would make a great little commuter 👍
Scooters have come a long way. That’s a cool looking little dude
I have one too , love it . will back on it in October after 2 1/2 years away .
Had mine, for 15 months now.
Lov.e it, first time back on a scooter or bike for 50 years.
I agree re cruise control, I did a small road trip recently and my right hand got stiff, age I expect!
It's the great scooter / bike out there.
I owned it since Sept 2019.
It's agile, nimble, pretty good mileage.
All of you got to enjoy good riding experience on this ADV 150
U like it better than the PCX 160?
Personally, I've never ride PCX 160.
I've tried PCX 150 but the ride was different, it's not agile, it's riding ergonomic wasn't good to ride long distance.
On paper, the PCX160 engine was better.
But on city street, I'd still prefer ADV 150
Gorgeous bike! I have the Honda PCX and I love it (they don't sell ADV's in my country). It's so good for quick trips to the shop, the storage is fantastic, but they're also just so fun to ride. I'm a learner rider, and I feel like it's the perfect bike to get started on. There's no embarrassment here, Honda make a fantastic scooter, and I'm super proud to own one.
I agree handle bars was a little off and it was also nice to see someone break in their stuff like I do
I was just thinking about the handlebars, right before you said something, haha. But, she's definitely a gnarly looking scoot! I'd love to get one, just to play around with.
They are crooked! Not much, but I have to either fix it myself or leave it at the dealership and have them do it, where they’ll probably scratch the paint taking the fairings off….
From GB great review 👍
Great review 👍.
really cool scooter! i've been considering getting one since i'm a student and a car just isn't in my budget great video !
I just bought one love it.
Just as I noticed the handle bars being off you said it. Lol. Great bike!
I really want one I'm so excited for next months
LOVE FROM MISSISSIPPI USA 🇺🇸
This looks too damn good. Really want one now
I would wait for the bigger versions. Totally worth it
Perfect choice, enjoy 👍
I am moving to the Philliphines and been already looking for a bike over their and this is one of the bikes I have on my list to test ride once I arrive in May. thanks
this looks like a little beauty for a first bike. i need something small and simple to drive around the burbs and get to class/work.
Awesome scooter, with side and center stand.. I started in 1984 on a honda aero 80 scooter. I've also had a honda silverwing and sh150 scooters. Nowadays I've settled on, for now anyway, a larger "scooter" with dct transmission, the bagger honda goldwing dct. My dct experience began on the very scooterish NC750X dct with storage. As I get older, and don't need to cruise comfortably at 70 mph, its back to smaller scoots. Enjoy.
I put a deposit down on an ADV 160 and I'm happy to see others loving their ADV. It'll be my first two-wheeled vehicle. Probably a Transalp in my future as well if I know myself well enough.
I just bought one yesterday but I have a blown knee right now and I can't ride it right now. I can't wait
Nice! I've owned 14 bikes in my time, including my current HD Ultra Classic--fully loaded touring model. I love my Electra Glide, but it's not more fun than the scooters I've owned--Honda C70, Honda CH 250, BMW C650. Scooters are great fun! Your ADV 150 looks like a blast! hehehe I need to downsize! Thanks.
I agree, small bikes are more fun than big bikes. I have a '06 HD Springer and I had a '05 E-Glide which I got rid of to get the Springer. Ready for a 2nd bike, smaller and more fun..Maybe even a scooter?
My first "bike" was a Honda CH250. I've owned numerous actual bikes after that, but that scooter was still my favourite. It's really too bad there's such a negative stigma towards them in North America. When I was Europe several years ago, scooters are everywhere. I would say about half the actual motorcycles are scooters over there. They are very popular.
That’s a very nice bike💨
I rode a Lambretta 150 to High School and enjoyed every mile. Even though all my friends were riding the New Honda Super 90's. Yeah, I'm talking late 60's! The thing my friends wern't aware of was that 150cc 2 stroke motor would smoke those little Honda with ease. Dad brought it home after a TDY in Italy in 1964, so I got it as a hand me down. I'm paitently waiting for the Honda ADV 350 to come to Texas. I mainly need the 350 Scooter because that 150 would get me run over out here in the sticks where the speed limit is 75 on the Staste Highways.
Would love to have the 750 but want something I can hang on the back rail on my Motorcoach and we would never need a 750 for what we do. Which is explore the back roads and mountain roads for sight seeing.
cracking little bike... its funny how as ive gotten older...these smaller fun bikes are more appealing.... im age55+ done all the sportbike and pretty much EVERY type of bike.... i now still have an NC700x honda... but i dont really use it much now because my 200cc scooter is just soo much fun round quiet country lanes here in UK ..
It is so funny you were mentioning the handlebars being crooked. I just bought the pcx and noticed the same thing so I was eyeing your bars too right before you said they look crooked. They appear crooked to the left while mine were crooked to the right.
I put the front wheel between my legs and tried to crank the bars the corrective direction. It was dark when I took it for a test ride tonight but I think that was enough to move it the 1 degree or so that I needed to fix it.
Hi Gas Works! This is my first time checking out the channel and I just noticed your in Yakima!!! How cool, I'm from Yakima as well and have a bunch of Personal Electric vehicles (Surron, Nami and V11)
Looking to possibly pick up a Honda as well, do you do group rides locally?
Thanks for this video..too bad we can t get this from Canada.i ll defenetly go down and get it from there...😉👍
Nice ride
The dark/gray model looks awesome, nice scooter,,, there are a ton of mods out for it....
The handlebar is a bit cricket for me too, but since we imported it from Thailand, the handlebar is cricket on the right hand. At this points after so many videos, I think it was cricket on purpose because in the US, the handlebar is cricket on the left hand.
just recently moved to Bali from the state and bought a used Adv and love it, i used to ride cbr600 anf the r1 in cali, but truth be told i love my Adv better.
My dream scooter someday... 2nd choice pcx
Looks very fun.
In a way looking at the Handle bars While your riding it dose look Crooked like it needs to go more to the Right, it doesn't look straight. did you ever look at that to to see if it was an issue ? Another great video keep them coming :)
Yeah it’s an issue. Others have the same crooked bars. I’m probably going to fix it myself though. The dealership will probably scratch the paint fixing it themselves and that would bother me more than the crooked bars.
I think that color looks amazing!?!🙏
i think this bike really suits your style of ridding
Grom/Monkey/SuperCub/Trail 125/ADV150 are avail here in Tampa Bay... Dealerships can't list 100% inventory on all apps, so go in-person to see what's ACTUALLY there. Ya might be surprised
9:35 No cop would pull over a scooter. Lol. Wild man. This is the same enjoyment I had from the UK Top Gear.
I did mine for 3000 kms loop north to south of Philippines. W/o any issues, very nimble vs my bigbikes. Nice
Thanks for the fun video
Awesome scooter 🛵
Nice bike id love to own one
that side stand engine cut-off was the result of the high number of some certain country rider that forgot to fold their side stand back in before riding
It's very well known model here in the Philippines 🇵🇭 when it's released, enjoy and ride safe 🙂
Good to know, I hope to return to the PI this July an will be on the hunt for a 2 wheeler. With the much lower speeds and more dense traffic, I think I can get away with a cheaper bike..
Job well done
Nice review. I’ll buy one in SEA. Those handle bars were off a bit.
I never thought I'd see the words "adventure" and "scooter" together.
Yup that's awesome, so is mine I need an m class 2 enforcement to go higher speeds.
I'd like to use the lane on 40+ mph roads instead of brake down lane.
Btw, great review, helped quite a lot. I’m early sixties, ride a big fat tire mountain ebike but always wanted a motorcycle. Been thinking scooter might make more sense, ease of use, balance etc. how would you compare this to the adv 350?
350 is not available in the USA
8:48 I was JUST saying the handle bars look crooked, and then you immediately said the SAME THING! lol
It is a instant gas mileage guage. This is my first scooter in decades and love it. I had to wait six months to get it. I also think they will hold their value.
I gave up on ever being able to buy one. I was just in the right place at the right time. My dealer never orders bikes, they just take whatever Honda sends them, lucky for me I snatched it up before someone else.
wait, how does the gauge work and where is it again?
@@TheFearlessFew on the bike
I love it, have you been on the 350
Great bike, looks and performance. However, with a 32.6" seat height, I'll need a step ladder too.
I'm in the UK, waiting patiently for the adv350 to be announced and a release date,,, the xadv is nice but to expensive
I’ve had a 50cc Suzuki Let’s 5 for around 12 years for getting around Hiroshima. Absolutely love it, but wish I had a license for a 150cc.
Hey there . I recently bought a 2019 Honda PCX 150 for $1500 on offer up and let me tell you it’s A LOT bigger and heavier in person so please be aware of that haha . I did a lot of practicing at the parking lot since it’s my first motorbike (wore all of my gear) and it’s a joy to ride. The stigma is crazy here in the US about scooters but it shouldn’t matter because you want it because you like it. :)
I wonder what it would be like going on a longer trip with this. If it can maintain a steady 55-60 Miles per hour I’m sure it would be fun. I’ve seen pictures of it with a top box and hard panniers.
It could do 80 km(50mph) per hour non stop. I'll try it out in Mexican Interstate is the speed limit.
Yeah it can cruise at 60 happily
gonna get one when they release the adv 350
I’d get one too if they bring them to the states. Unfortunately Honda won’t do that.
hope you can try tons of scooters here in South east asia, you'll find a LOT of em
I wish USA had more types.
SWEET!
i have a Honda Vario 150 for use in the city, beats driving (& parking) any time.
I have a Grom but even with a crap load of mods I still feel like I am wringing the bike out to cruise at 60mph. I am 5’6” and about 165lbs so I am thinking this adv 150 would be better suited to cruise at 60mph. I will probably install a performance variator and cvt clutch.
Dropping in a 171cc bore kit is pretty easy.
"We're ridin dirty and let me follow the break in instructions because I'm that guy." You Sir pass all vibe checks. I'm copping a scoot scoot...
I strive for mediocrity. 😊
@@GasWorksISO as the singular intelligent American opinion in this space, you are way beyond mediocre.
Good video I like the bike but waiting to see if they bring the adv 350 to USA . If they don’t I’m buying this one
If the 350 comes to the states, I’ll trade up for sure. But from what I’ve read, it’s not going to..
"activate the insurance on this thing" Awesome video though! thanks for sharing
looks like a motorcycle pls stay safe been hit bad on a a bicycle multible times 3 years ago i am taping out
I didn't know you were Jim Carrey haha. You sound like him and very nice scooter!
A couple of questions. We're about the same size, but I have arthritis in my knees and can't really bend them beyond 90 degrees and be comfortable at more than a right angle. But if they're slightly short of 90 I'm good. What position would you say your legs were in flat footed. Is it possible to slide your feet forward just enough to be short of 90 degrees? And what's the price on one of these? Thanks 👍
Also I'd replace the windscreen with a larger aftermarket
Am considering getting a bike, have never operated a motorcycle before, would you consider this a good starter?
I was so close to buying one but found a clean used forza 300 for a price that I could not pass up. Love the look of the 150. I flip bikes just to experience different rides.
My Forza just got stolen on Christmas eve. I'll hopefully get lucky.
@@bucktooth002 sorry to hear
I had full coverage & will attempt to receive 4.5k payout. I regret not locking the wheel to its left & not turning on patio lights. I would of never imagine it would get stolen so had wallet, 2 sets of gloves & other stuff. Wish I would've had the top case off. Could've been using it as a safe.
I cannot decide between these two. Forza 300 2018/2019 or ADV150 2020 or so. Forza is for sure better for longer trips, comfort. But Adv can be fun in city, some dirt, etc... Haven't tried ADV yet, only pcx/forza etc..
If you are taller the forza has more room. It's still pretty nimble in town but can also do highway without issue.
Seriously considering selling my FZ600 for a scooter or a Honda DCT. The afternoon bumper-to-bumper commuter crawl home is great for friction zone practice, but not much else.
I hear ya.
I want to exclusively drive streets & long 8 hour trips to Mexico(non pave streets).
9:20 you've just found the reason why I generally do not let my motorcycle riding buddies ride my maxiscooters. I've seen one too many near spills when people want to shift to second gear.
