PCP has made people buy much more expensive cars than they could otherwise afford, very few cars would be new today with the cost of living and tax. PCP makes People ignore the big balloon at the end and when faced with it they just take out another PCP for another 3 years and on and on they go forever in debt.
Commutes today are long and People want cars for comfort. Gone are the days of good paying local work especially in rural areas and with motorways people want to do that in comfort and speed.

The only bad thing about the new Cub, is that bloody awful, bright red single seat, you could get 3 people on an old one.
In the UK the best engine choice was the C90.
They were immortal, and even once they were taken off the road, the kids were running around the fields on them, jumping ditches and running through hedges.
In the 60-80's nearly all the kids learnt how to ride on them.
If the engine blew, you knew where another one was, you could do an engine swap in an afternoon.
If you bounced into a tree, or finally managed to break the pressed steel frame, take off the engine and wheels,
Someone will be wanting them soon enough.

The blue/light blue/red seat color scheme and single seat were what they had on the first Super Cubs in 1958. Honda has always considered the Super Cub and its variants to be a single-rider bike, even though they equipped them with longer seats and footpegs for passengers.

My Helix does fine on the highway; just stays in the right lane unless some car is really slow. No problem since I stick to the inner or outer lane to ensure I can prevent anyone from driving parallel to me. 60-68 depending on uphills and wind. No wind max of 71, so highways are do-able.

I don't know what they called it in the mid-60s, but my dad had a 150cc version with a fairing like that. Only had it for a couple of months until he went up to a 350 cc bike. He spent his youth on an old Indian with a suicide shift in the late 30s and early forties. Was even driving years before he got his license because he was a military messenger for the Navy in Bayonne. They actually hired bikers to run their messages, they didn't care who you were or how old you were! Just how patriotic you were! At 16 he forged his birth certificate and by the time he was 18 he was sitting in the tail gun of a B-17! So seeing that bike again was a pleasure, thank you!
