      Gilles would be a great person to sail with, and the opportunity exists! Might cost a few bucks, but any sailor could learn much from Gilles!

    Keep the tours coming Ken. I’m a Bob Perry fan and Tayana’s are one of my favorites for bluewater sailing. 👍👍👍

      Hi Clay, I was a huge fan of Tayana as well, but could not find one that was maintained well when looking for a boat for Z and I. And Eloise was also not maintained properly before Gil brought her back to life.

    Beautiful work. Gil is clearly a world class yachtsman. Unfortunately it was difficult for me to understand. They certainly created an incredibly well found and comfortable boat for world cruising. Looks pretty spendy however. Great tour lovely boat.

    Sheave? 2 sheaves at the moveable block(block and tackle) is a 4 to 1 mechanical advantage. Interesting tour. Would be interesting to know how the lives/interests/capabilities of older cruisers have changed over 20+ years.

    We met Gilles in July 2014 at the Arenal harbour in Mallorca. We were on a rented boat side to his boat, the year before the purchase of our own boat. He is still in our souvenirs, one of the nicest persons we have ever met, genuinely generous.

    Thank you Ken very nice tour. Very interesting to have electronic anti-fouling.

    • @SailingAquarius
      @SailingAquarius  Před 4 lety

      I am also interested in the acoustic antifouling systems! There are several systems available.
      www.ultrasonic-antifouling.com/ultrasystem-powerplus/
      www.pyiinc.com/sonihull/sonihullduo.html
      cleanahull.com
      sonihull.com/sonihull-systems/
      Nice video at the bottom of this page.....
      emcsindustries.com/anti-fouling/recreational-vessels/
      All use the same technology, and probably all work about the same. I plan on getting one of these at some point!
      And there are some systems that use copper anodes in the water at anchor. These systems dissolve the copper slowly which create a copper solution around your boat for protection.

      We will make "Boat Tour Videos" as we find interesting boats, with interesting owners. I don't think a tour of a "boat" is very interesting without an interesting owner to talk about boat and all the changes, likes and dislikes etc. With each tour I learn something from owner, and I want the viewers to get something out of watching the video as well. Fair Winds, Ken
