The raised counters serves her purpose but I find it closes the already narrow kitchen in. Love the notches in the cabinets though.

That fireplace marble is gorgeous! I’ve never seen fluting done in marble like that. The door surrounds are very nice, and it looks very good how it flows from front to back. The dining table is beautiful, and that is my favorite chair style. I really love the darker wood tone, too. The whole downstairs really looks very good!!

It's nice, but not a fan of the kitchen island. I think it needs some texture or millwork. Perhaps reeded or fluted mill work to give visual interest? Since the fireplace mantel is fluted, it would be nice to add it to the island to give continuity.

I'd add a subtle pattern - 'island paper' in a serene light green color or in a pale orange. It's too white, like a wall. Everything is in fusion here except for the toilet, it doesn't fit into the story.

Rant! I used to enjoy watching these videos even when I didn't like the end result because I collected ideas for fantasizing about having a space of my own that I will never be able to afford. But given the realities of climate change, ecological destruction, inequality, war, etc., I just can't watch them any more without thinking about the clueless privilege so many of the people involved exude.
No one should be installing new gas ranges (everyone who can afford to should switch them out), no one should be refurbishing wood fireplaces (and existing ones should be decommissioned), no one should be building or renovating without taking sustainability and energy-efficiency to the greatest extent possible. Should we be building or extensively renovating at all??
The more I learn about the state we have put ourselves in, the more I feel anger when people proudly extol their aesthetic splurges without any nod to the very real human consequences of their decisions. No, one person's choices won't make a big difference, but it all adds up, our choices have impacts, and everyone, each and every one of us, needs to change. Now.
When will organizations start stepping out in front of their competitors or peers and doing everything they can to help? It's those organizations that will endure. When will we all stop being so incredibly self-absorbed and selfish? Do we give a rat's ass for our children, for all children, all beings, and the increasingly damaged world we are leaving them?
The house has a Kim Kardashian minimal vibes (not as minimal)- it feels cold 🥶 and sterile. One would be scared to spill 😬
I was taking a break from House and Home; As the vibe is always modern with white and a touch of black - same, same
None of these designs are memorable because it looks like every other house.
So I’ll take another break from House & Home, as in 4 to 6 months and they will continue to show A White House with touches of black accents.
I still remember designers from this channel who thought outside the box those designs I remember.
