What doubts do you have about going to medical school? 🥼
I'm hesitating to be a doctor because of money My family is poor we our poor so yeah my dream is to become a doctor but my big problem will be money so yeah :)
what is med school like? like the material in the first week how do we learn and all
I've wanted to become a doctor since I was 17 ang joined as a voulenteer to an imergency organization. Now I'm 26, Trying to apply to Medical schhol (it's different in my country) and mostly I'm scared that I won't be able to balance the work with the family and future kids. Concerns that weren't part of my thoughts at 17.
im not sure if its for me or if im good enough to go
i feel like its too hard thats what id been telling myself until i recently started considering it
I'm nervous I won't be good enough, or smart enough, or I will fail.
I know a specialist who went into medicine because of family pressure and stayed for the money. He’s one of the finest specialists in town, and he now says he likes it.
Love a happy ending. We would caution this isn't the norm for those who are forced through due to family pressure.
@@MedSchoolInsiders indeed!
Anedotal at best. Just because you know someone that doesn't prove the video wrong. These videos are used to generalize the majority not anomalies.
so good they can't ignore you - cal newport
you just gave me hope thank you
I’m a doctor but I still have doubts 😂
same!
If you are lazy in any way.. medicine isn’t for you. So many people go to work and half ass their way through the day. In most professions, that’s acceptable with little consequence. Not so in medicine, every day and day in and day out you have to give 100 percent at all times.
No job require you to be at 100% all the time. It is physically and mentally impossible unless youre a program robot.
I don't think med students or Doctors are allergic to laziness, it's not like they're these pitch perfect individuals.
@@appollo1826 Okay, tell that to the family. "Sorry, wasent on my A game today. Uncle Joe is dead now" As I said, if you go into medicine.. you better be prepared to give it your all. And YES, I am a doctor.
@@scottallen3907you may need a specialist to remove your head from your ass
@@scottallen3907nah. You’re wrong
That confusing moment when I'm currently taking a medical course (medical laboratory science) and I do like it... But I also really like art, writing, and cooking. :')
you can easily do those things as a hobby if you don't choose them as a career but it's hard to do medicine as a hobby! :P
Honestly I don’t know what to become anymore, I want to be a doctor because I can’t see myself being anything else but at the same time I don’t have a passion for it. I have a wide range of interest but I can’t say without hesitation that I want to dedicate to only one of those interests. Idk I’ll probably just stick to being a bagger at a grocery store. I have an interest in helping people and the medical field but if I can barely pass my pre requisites and barely know the basics of medicine, then how can I even be one.
Exactly i can’t see myself in ANYTHIING ELSE no matter how much I search up things and try to be curious I feel like no career would fit me im just really confused i am interested in being a doctor but i have no passion for it
@@fatoumatacisse3796just take a dive, no clue how deep the water is but it may well be that you find it shallow and make it to the other side. Just try it, no point in wasting time, trying to see what feels right because that time may never come. Oh well, "Just do it." ~ NIKE
I’m finishing up my prerequisites for med school right now and I’ve realized you can’t just want the end goal. It takes more than a decade of your life and you have to enjoy the journey. I’ve loved my classes, volunteering, and research. Be honest with yourself and remember to become a doctor means being intentional with your time while pushing harder than you ever thought possible. You need to be internally motivated and quick to learn from mistakes. Hope you find happiness in whatever you do!
This was a great video!! Thanks for making this Dr. Jubbal!! Goodluck to all Medical career pursuers
Passion sustains the physician in training and keeps you engaged as an attending.
Bro the only one that is required no matter what is Hard Work. The other things you listed are nice to have, but not necessary
I have to agree but I think he giving a more detailed list to some fence-sitters (people in the gray area of choice).
Thank you so much for teaching me❤
These signs are way too generic. They apply to almost 95% of professions. Its like aaying if someone doesn't like to work hard they shouldn't bother working at all. Evwn doctors are lazy at times does it mean they do not hace the thirst of knowledge or no longwr a strong work ethic?? *Rhetorical
I agree with these signs since becoming a doctor does require a lot of dedication, effort, and patience but wouldn’t that apply to any profession such as a lawyer, engineer, dentist, etc? I’m a senior in high school and I’m not too sure of what I want to major in for college, but I’m thinking of being a PA since it feels more attainable than being a doctor
Nah engineers just spend most of their days thinking of ways to not do thier job.
@@callmeosho7792ima senior too and I lowkey wanna be a doctor
Dont limit urself go for doctor
If it just fear that you'll fail to become a doctor, why not overcome that fear. PA is a great career but Im pretty sure you'll make a doctor as well. Break down the steps and execute each step one at time.
@@appollo1826 yeah I do fear that I’ll fail when I am in pre-med & med school because it’s so hard & the MCAT since I’m not a good test taker but I find medicine interesting
Sir I have always wanted to become a doctor since my childhood days
Same but I hate learning 😭
@@VanessaNze-tf9cp if you don't change that you're fucked
Mount Everest is only worth climbing if you love climbing, so enjoy the pain, and then you shall enjoy the journey through suffering. To all the future superheros - let's go!
Good list. Hate seeing some of this in simulations.
Honestly it's a good thing I gave up on trying to get into medical school. I never had a chance even right from the start and once I tanked my MCAT, I knew it was the final nail in the coffin and it was all over for me.
What do you do now?
@@lostship I work in supply chain now. Currently I'm focusing on building my investment portfolio and getting certifications to help take my career further. I'd like to land a federal job one day and snag those sweet, sweet benefits.
@christopherwilson8327 Damn, that's really cool how you built the right path for yourself after trying for a path that didn't suit. I don't know you, but I'm glad you didn't give up and found a passion. Keep it going man, I hope your career only goes up. Blessings.
Feeling reassured that none of these are issues after sending in my AMCAS/AACOMAS 😅
Am a pre med student thank you for the advices doctor Jabbal
My pleasure!
I'm a nursing assistant (which doesn't require any grades etc) and at the beginning I had an uneasy feeling to go to work. Now that I have the routines stuff, befriended some collegues and gained some experience it's quite enjoyable. Not the job that I've been aspired to get as I've wanted to be a vet.
The vet school requires somewhat 8 degrees more and have a very little chance of getting in. Thats 7-10 years of studying considering how fast you want to study before becoming a vet. It's priorities that matter most in which decision I'm willing to make. :')
It throws me off watching this video being uploaded right after me making it clear to family after a heated argument that if it's not medicine I'm studying, I don't see myself majoring anything else at all. Well, I don't know what to feel and say...
If you've committed to medicine, full steam ahead! You got this!
It appears that you're very passionate about medecine. Congrats and all the best!! Never lose sight of your goal
thank you so much for the much needed affirmation🥺
Bro I haven’t even told my mom that. If she knows I can already imagine the look on her face and the heated argument too
Same here thank you
I am currently a student of maths stream , my parents want me to take engineering, maybe i like it too but lately I am developing interest and thrust for neurology, and want to go into the research side of medicine rather than becoming a full fledged doctor. Aiming to combine computer science and neurology to create something beyond current intelligence of human . Also, maybe due to my previous experience and bad health in young age and the trauma it caused compel me to do the same. Even of all of this , i have a slight inclination towards business and precisely research based business thing... Already told above... It's so confusing, should I take my chance at it if I am not willing to be a doctor but some researcher...what are the other paths to pursue the same?

Morality is relative. A morality test just checks if your morals align with those of the authors'
In my medical school there was a debate on whether the use of QBanks like Uworld is ethical
Does the medical school itself practice morality if it charges 80000 a year in tuition?
100% facts. The main reason I hate ethics questions. Ethics question are restricted toward one answer and only that occupation can tell you if YOUR morality is correct or incorrect. It makes me ponder if we need these type of questions due to a few odd-balls.
They are hypocrites. There is no worse person than a hypocrite who wants to make others believe that his "morality" is superior to other people.
I'm strongly considering medical school right now, my only concern is that I already dislike working a full 40 hours a week as an MA, but it really depends for me. I feel full of energy leaving work if I've learned a lot, or I get to work alongside coworkers I have a good relationship with. I feel my worst when I'm doing routine clerical work with no new experience or takeaways.
Hell I'm a bit confused myself on what I wanna be I love the idea of surgery and would love to be a surgeon but at the same time I somehow feel like my parents and family also have some part to play in that so I don't wanna be forcing myself in it.
Will Ai replace doctors in diagnosis? What's your opinion?
So far at strong morals, seems to be going well

It's kinda too late for me. I graduated two years ago, and I regret it. I am just going to try to get a job at some remote ambulance or apply for a brain-dead branch such as sports medicine.
Is it really? Can’t you go back to increase your grades, study for mcat, etc? If it’s what you are wanting to do, go for it. I’m in undergrad right now and I will probably spend some years after graduating just studying and trying to get in if I don’t get in my first try.
@@alenaatoutlemonde4036they say too late because it appears they already have their MD
I think I want to a doctor but I don’t have a huge passion as a high school student but also don’t see myself doing much else. Any Tips?
Go & meet actual doctors, take a glance at their work, observe & then decide. Don't trust anyone on social media
Is it possible to become a doctor If I only have a GED not a high school diploma and I have a wife and daughter? How would I even go about getting loans for school if I don’t have the best of credit? I’ve wanted to become a doctor my entire life not for the money or status but because it makes me happy. Just unsure if it’s even possible now…
Well, it would be a long journey for sure, filled with lots of sacrifices. For example, you would need to take all your prerequisites, which could take you up to 3 years full time. You would then need to pass the rigorous MCAT exam, and then hope to be accepted to a medical school, and do that for 4 years. If no medical school near you accepts you, you’d need to consider moving away to another place with a medical school that will accept you. Then, you would need to do 3 years residency. Throughout med school & residency, they highly discourage working a full time job as they want you busy with your studies. You’ll be sacrificing time with your family and friends, and will rack up a ton of debt. Contact medical schools in your area to be more informed.
What if I want to make CZcams videos about doctors and don't want to become one?
I am in my 4th year now what a hard bath to be in
Didn’t they cap the shifts to 24 hours? Why is he saying you can still have to work for 30 hours in a row?
Well I asked chatGPT what job I should get if I want to make a lot of money. The first thing it said was doctor, such as an anesthesiologist or surgeon
I want to become a veterinary doctor because I hate people 😅
Unless youre an animal whisperer, you will still have to deal with people in order to help the animals. Most of the animal that you serve have an emotional pet owner that want you to fix their pet friend/family.
@@appollo1826 it's not about talking to emotional owners to help their pets it's about the feeling afterwards like I can pretend to be nice to people in order to help an animal but to save them is like ughhh and about animals any animal I will save in future it won't be like that why I saved this it will be the opposite are you getting what I'm saying 😁
fair enough 😅
come on mannn!! ihave medicine midterm tomorrow 😢 I cant lose faith yet
I am currently a premed student. I wanted to become a pediatrician but now im considering nursing. I am super smart & think I have the right personality to become a doctor but maybe not the grades.
So you don’t have the drive?
The grades can be addressed - check out our study strategies playlist here on CZcams. If after going through the playlist you still aren't getting the results you want, we offer 1-on-1 help as well
This is fear creeping up on you. You can overcome this fear by not just calling yourself "smart" but actually changing those grades that are questionable and moving forward toward becoming a Pediatrician. If you have the right personality to become a doctor, go make the occupation that is right for your personality. In the end, you won't regret it if you exhaust your genius into becoming a Pediatrician vice something you're settling for.
You can do this, you can always improve grades. Never give up from your dreams!
