Can totally understand the driveway thing man, I'm so grateful for mine. Washing the car is actually enjoyable rather than worrying an old lady's gonna trip over the hose or I'm gonna get hit by a bus.

Gave my 740 a rinse with a pressure washer yesterday. Still needs a more thorough cleaning after the winter along with my Amazon. The church bells gave me a chuckle. I've seen a couple of other people on youtube have similar sounds occur in the backround and become a staple of their videos. I suppose the bells will become yours soon enough!
Loved the banter with Ms Involvo'd about the bells. Another guest appearance from the cat. I assume he or she is the neighbours and not yours. Like you say so good for you to have more of your own land and space to clean the cars. A beauty of a Volvo now looking more beautiful with a wash but those wheels are hard work but i guess worth it because they suit her so well. After all the work on Lili to get her running nice, spending some time in a chair appreciating her beauty is natural and should be enjoyed. I hope the bells don't drive you crazy. They metallic blue is lovely.

Being able to take care of your Volvo on your own driveway is a far cry from kicking hobos of shitted on mattresses next to a tram line :)

Bilt Hamber Auto-Wheel is great at removing ancient brake dust. I thought I'd have to have the wheels on my 240 Torslanda refurbished.... Three goes with Auto-Wheel and Auto Glym wheel brush they look amazing!

for the wheels: get some chimney cleaner, the spray thing. give em a preasure wash, spray the living out of them. let it sit for 10 min and wash with water. works like a charm

I use Mr muscle oven cleaner on my 940 alloys also good for gasket removal and de cokes plus I've freed off sticking turbo vanes on my v70 with the stuff what an idyllic place you are both living in also do r forget regardless a woman is always right happy wife happy life

@@Involvod works like a charm, cannot compete with regular wheel cleaner just make sure to scrub it in and wash it off within 10min or so.
Getting your own driveway hits different. I don't miss working in the middle of the road.
As for the caked on mess, get some polishing compound on a microfibre, takes some time but it get's it all off

My wheels were exactly the same I struggled to remove the baked on brake dust. I found "The pink stuff paste" on an old tea towel took it of rather well with a little elbow grease.
Oh nice, I brought a tub of that over with me from the UK so I'll give it a go!

Lovely video! I know how you feel; even if it's not garaged but on your own turf it just feels that bit better. And yeah, keeping nice alloy wheels nice can be a bit of a b*gger for daily driven cars, our Sweed always has some dark residue somewhere in it's footwear

good job, the house looks great, you need acid to clean the wheels, you could try brick acid, failing that try white vinegar, mix it with fairy liquid to help it stick to the wheel and leave it on there.

That would be a waste of money. Turns out it's illegal where he lives to wash your car at home. He may have to do what Jay Leno does with all of his cars - wash them without water. (Provided that's legal to do where he lives.)

@@pontushaggstrom6261 Jay Leno NEVER uses water to wash/clean his cars. In fact, most of his cars he doesn't even drive in the rain. Water/rain isn't good for cars. So, he chooses not to expose them to either. Go to his CZcams channel and you can see what he uses instead of water.

I use Oven Cleaner on my wheels. Can't leave it on for longer than 5 mins, though, so it's best to just try to do 2 wheels at a time.

Have you tried Iron out or some sort of analogue? I have found that that helps with the brake dust and associated metal particles that build up from neglect especially on basket weave style wheels. I always appreciate the laid back style of your channel, Cheers!

@@Involvod I think the product you used was very similar, it resulted in the purple liquid seeping off the wheel, so my suggestion may be redundant and not necessarily available in your location. good luck!

Have you tried Wonder Wheels on the alloys? It did a brilliant job of getting the baked-on brake dust off my 740's original wheelcovers when I first bought it; nothing else would shift it.

This sounds maybe weird but try some Toilet Cleaner for the Wheel, it worked really well for me.
It's pretty aggressive but does not damage it

I think the only real solution is have the wheels sand blasted and powder coated. But you could try a Dremel with some mild grinding brush or something.
Are you allowed to wash your car on Easter Monday? Interested because I intend to move to Germany in the near future.
Turns out, you can't wash your car at home at all, I just found out 🙄 But I'm not sure if it's forbidden to do tasks on public holidays as it is on Sundays 🤔 Probably

Thanks. Sounds like it could be an ignition problem, I've seen this issue on old Rovers before and it was a faulty ignition coil 🙂

Hello, good time. I have a Volvo 740gl model 1991 station wagon, which is difficult to start when it is initially turned on, and it runs very poorly at idle, and its fuel system is semi-injected, from the model that does not have electric injectors, and there is electricity on the socket on the fuel regulator. I don't have the positive and negative, but in the top round, when it turns on, it bites very well. Can you help me to fix it?
... if I remember right from this wheel cleaner - there is a stronger version in red available, to avoid oven cleaner?

@@Involvod Just when you thought that you'd heard it all. Absolutely ridiculous! I've got my eye on a 1982 240 GL- beautiful deep red color with 122k miles. They still have every reciept from, and including, the original purchase from the dealer! $12k USD.
