It's about time for a Parker Posey renaissance! O'Hara and Coolidge have their emmys, Parker's gotta be next
She was the only interesting character in Lost in Space besides the robot. Man, that family was boring AF.
He, He, Hello!
Agree!
Parkenaissance! I like it
She didn’t win for her tour de force preformance in Josie and the Pussycats huh
She was fabulous in Waiting for Guffman. 'I'll always have a place at the Dairy Queen'.
How extraordinarily generous she is! I’ve never heard someone use their talk show time to gas up so many different people.
Too bad her screen time; especially seventh inning on, in Beau wasn't Approached, Scripted, and Dealt With in a(n) Respectful Manner.. ...😐😶
I met her at a college party and remember being struck by how genuine she was, very kind, very gracious for someone so young (she was a freshman, and I was a senior so real grown up lol) and a wicked sense of humor. Glad to see she is the same person today.
@@drumbum3.142 wut

The script, and the direction (ultimately) gives her a middle finger.. ... disrespects her, in Beau is Afraid. Particularly in the last fifteen or so minutes.. -😐-
@@drumbum3.142 I'm sure she really needs a white knight like yourself going around telling her who did and didn't disrespect her. What an unbelievably disrespectful thing to do.
The irony is palpable. But given your criticisms, I wouldn't expect you to taste a thing. 😮
I adore this person - she is probably my favourite actor, everything she does is just so engaging, a joy to watch.
Too bad her screen time; especially seventh inning on, in Beau wasn't Approached, Scripted, and Dealt With in a(n) Respectful Manner.. ...😐😶
have you seen the films she’s done with Hal Hartley? Phenomenal
@drumbum3.14 I haven't seen it yet, so I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly. Are you talking about her time on screen as a whole? As in how well she's utilized when she's on screen rather than being just set dressing?
If you literally mean the general amount of time she is on screen, I doubt that a lack of respect has anything to do with it and I also doubt she would care much. She said she and Patti Lupone only worked on the film for 2 days, that's not a shooting schedule you go into expecting to feature largely in a film unless you're a real out-of-touch diva, and she certainly isn't that.
She is such a kind and wonderful smokeshow!
I love Parker. We lived next to each other in the dorms when we were both at NCSA during the summer of 83. She had the most charming southern accent at the time. It’s been wonderful watching her career.
you were at NCSA in the 80s? So many friends of mine went there :)
@@alumpyhorse Yes. 83-87. HS Ballet
I saw a video of her playing with her bean while wearing a dark blue office suit.
Wow, lucky you! It is very nice to hear from someone with a CZcams who lived with her. Did you order a ticket for this show of Late Night with Seth Meyers? Did you see Parker Posey in person on any other talk show or a film convention for her?
you were lucky to know her then, she is always full of energy
i want to see Parker Posey work with Aubrey Plaza just for the lovely dark vibes
Ned Rifle
Parker Posey, Elizabeth Banks, Rachel McAdams in the same room would be wild
Please add Lena Headey thank you.
Have you been reading my dream diary?
It’d be a room I’d never want to leave 😭😍
We're there, dude. Huh huh.
I wouldn’t be able to handle it, no way I am cool enough
For the past 25-30 years, Parker Posey has been the best living film actor. Nobody is more aware of the tone of what they are in than Posey. She brings herself into movies so perfectly, and weaves her essence into the very fabric of whatever she is in.
Counterpoint: she plays herself in everything. She's like the Rock. That first sentence of yours is something else.
please welcome for the first time parker posey everybody
Among the Americans, at least, I am hard-pressed to think of anyone better, at least among comedic woman performers.
She is fun bcz she is unique, and has kind of a dreamy muse quality
Exactly. She fills the screen. My favorite is House of Yes.
She is such a badass mofo. House of Yes was all the proof ever needed.
Too bad her screen time in Beau; especially seventh inning on.. ...wasn't Approached, Scripted, and Dealt With in a(n) Respectful Manner to let her Really Shine, Pulse, and Radiate in the Succinct way you describe.. .😐😶
@@drumbum3.142 Dude, if you didn't like the movie that's fine but the language you're using implies that you're speaking about film in a mostly objective way and understand the process behind it and you clearly don't. I haven't even seen Beau is Afraid yet, and even I can see that you're using all this film industry/critique language to essentially state "I didn't like what happened to her character in the film."
Nothing wrong with that at all, of course. Maybe you think she was just underutilized, and that's a totally valid criticism of a film as well. But you also seem to be saying that her character in the film or how she's involved in the plot is somehow reflective of the filmmakers' level of respect toward her and I seriously doubt that's the case.

So (when You Do See It that is. .. Dude... Lol); How (the Heck) does it fit into the context of the Film and Script,?.. Dude.. (?)...
I've always loved her. Her mean girl in Dazed and Confused surely laid the blueprint for a lot of other highschool "mean girl" movies
OKAY well that was an incredible interview. Parker brings the best energy and engages with people so effortlessly!! What an utter gem.
This movie was utter insanity, and I loved every second of it.
Too bad her screen time; especially seventh inning on, in Beau wasn't Approached, Scripted, and Dealt With in a(n) Respectful Manner.. ...😐😶
@@drumbum3.142it wasn’t a respectful character? she was literally a puppet. she didn’t have anything to respect lmfao
Parker Posey seems really genuine.
She has always been my kind of weird. Can’t wait for her to be recognised by the Hollywood industry
Also Party Girl is on of my fav movies of all time. Thought I was the only one that saw it.
@@ThefetchNZ as a librarian I loved that film
She is recognised by everyone in the industry
She and her husband would have won the Mayflower Dog Show if not for losing that damn Busy Bee...
Adore this woman! Her memoir was fantastic and highly recommended to anyone who grew up with her '90s oeuvre!
she was the best thing about the new Lost in Space, she was incredible in that
Favorite character
No. The BEST thing about Lost in Space was ROBOT.
she is an hilarious and bracing actress, but has other pursuits. I am a bibliophile, and watched a documentary about used book shops in New York that were dwindling in number but still going- and it turns out Parker produced it. smart girls got it rocking.
LOVE her. I just watched this 90's indie called Clockwatchers with her, Toni Collette, and Lisa Kudrow and absolutely adored it. It's almost like Ari Aster's Nine to Five. Her performance is great.
I saw that in the theater.
One of my fav movies
Very underrated film.
If you're a fan of her work, make sure to buy and read her book - excellent essays!
Loved Parker Posey in Beau is Afraid. The movie has some stellar performances.
Lol.. .
Too bad her screen time; especially seventh inning on, in Beau wasn't Approached, Scripted, and Dealt With in a(n) Respectful Manner.. ...😐😶
been so in love with Parker Posey since Dazed and Confused, then I found out she's from this tiny town a few hours north of my hometown and I loved her even more. For her to have come from a redneck, total wackjob, gun nut, groyper-idiot city like Monroe, LA and become a extremely bright S-tier actor/celebrity is uncanny.
she knew early what she wanted to do, and her family supported it, she had a good start
The House of Yes, The Anniversary Party, Clockwatchers, Waiting for Guffman, Kicking and Screaming, Dazed and Confused... I mean, I seriously cannot think of another actor who has played in as many of my favorite films as Parker Posey. I would gladly give this woman my last kidney if she needed it.
My favorite line from Dazed and Confused comes from her:
LICK ME, ALL OF YOU
For me the scene in You´ve got mail, when she and Tom Hanks get stuck in the elevator, is priceless. She is hilariously horrible in the whole movie. Love her!
“Patricia is amazing. She makes COFFEE nervous.”
Where are my Tic Tacs?!?!
Parker Posey, just a phenomenal actress! Always been a fan ever since Party Girl. 🤩😍💖🍿🎥
Parker Posey is phenomenal,
love all of the films she did with Hal Hartley !
You had me at Hal Hartley!
She's the best! Best in show, best of actors, best of humans.
I love parker posey so much
Too bad her screen time; especially seventh inning on, in Beau wasn't Approached, Scripted, and Dealt With in a(n) Respectful Manner.. ...😐😶
When I see Parker I think about the movie Josie and the Pussycats 😆Love it
I watch Parker Posey in "The House of Yes" every Thanksgiving. She's iconic.
She's a force! Seth could hardly keep up with her effluent charm
Parker Posey is one of my all-time! Forever and ever and ever!
Parker Posey seems to never change.
Parker Posey is a national treasure. I hope she still lives on the lower Eastside like she did in the 90s like the rest of us hoi polloi
she should be on more talk shows! she's captivating
So good to see one of my favorite indie actors
Parker Posey is my favorite Elizabeth Banks character ever.
Haaaaaa!!!!
Oh damn not lying hahahah
Except Banks is younger and hasn't been acting half as long.
So, that doesn't actually make sense...
You have that backwards. Elizabeth Banks has the career Parker Posey was supposed to have.
I will always associate Parker with an old girlfriend of mine. Girlfriend was a librarian, and was a fan of Parker's movie "Party Girl", which basically was a documentary about my then-girlfriend. Very........interesting time in my life I'll say.
Legend
I once saw a video of Posey doing her.. one handed exercise
I’ve always adored her. Her memoir is worth a read. Really hope she gets some recognition.
I'm 65 and really dig this chick!
... Cool
She's pretty groovy!🌼
In a class of her own . class, grace , enthusiasm, passion, intelligence, and insanely beautiful.
"You're the same too, except for your body & your face" 🤣😂💀 She is going to SLAY her White Lotus role! 💯
Parker is timeless, and so damn talented.
Ms Posey needs to be the next Samantha Stevens, not because she embraces the whole Elizabeth Montgomery vibe but because she would ROCK the whole Serena vibe, her sister.
If you haven’t heard Parker Posey narrate her audiobook “You’re On an Airplane”, treat yourself. ❤️ I imagine even if you’ve already read it, you’d enjoy the audio.
Love her so much. I was worried after the first season of Lost in Space was a disaster (won't get into it but her performance was the only thing notable going on) but HERE SHE IS still giving us gold. (and I'm sure the DQ would always take her back)
She is always such a delight !
*SCREAM needs to bring back Parker posey. 😫..she would be so good*
She has a magic that is all her own.
Such a nice lady. I met her in my hometown when she was filming a movie. She ran to me because I had a bichon like hers. She was so cute with a nice personality. We spoke a good bit. She had her dog there on the set. I hope she does well in life.
Her relative lack of interview time led me to believe she was some kind of optical illusion. Glad to see she's both real and charming.
i can't believe desantis let parker borrow his white boots for the night. so chic!
Dunno about the Agnes Moorhead comparison, but pretty sure Parker Posey is indeed a magical creature.
I got it. The cut and style of the dress was Endora like.
@@easterbasket9688 Yes, I agree, but she said it right after showing off her boots, which are something I could only see Endora wearing if they were setting up a joke about discos. On the other hand, I could easily see Serena wearing the whole ensemble. But probably referencing Serena would have been too much of a deep cut. 😉
I love her so much! And yes, as an ex-New Yorker I too was shocked when visiting s few weeks ago. Mind you, this was at casual places I used to go to regularly when I lived there. You cannot walk out of a place without spending at least $50...for lunch.
I just love this woman! Party Girl is an all time favorite. Parker seems like she would be a memorable conversation…bucket list truly. I’ve been a fan since high school and I’m in my 40’s 😊
Oranges and Peaches? We don't have that book.
I freakin' LOVE ms. Posey!
Loved her from all the Christopher Guest movies, was so happy to see her in BIA! Will never hear Mariah Carey without thinking about her again hahahaha
She’s so gloriously old school actor… and whooo sooo beautiful:)
She's the best. Josie & the Pussycats (2001) is such a great film. Mixed reviews at its release but later appreciated and became a cult classic. Parker is perfection in it. Anyone watching this saying they love her should go watch it. Satirizes the music industry and has Parker Posey and Alan Cumming (another funny Seth guest) as villains? Like please go watch it now.
I worship Parker Posey and hang off her every word and movement. She's, like, my generation's patron saint.
Two great actors.
I love her, such a crazy cool actor
Love her! My brother and I talk about her character in Party Girl all the time.
What a treasure. The grown-up's Aubrey Plaza
This beauty ages so beautifully.
LOVE Parker Posey, "Broken English" is one of my Absolute Favorite films of all time❤
She"s really out there. Wow.
One of my favorite actress of all time, love her❤
She has always been shockingly good-looking. A perfect face. I assume she dyes her hair now; honestly I think she'd be even more stunning with some gray.
Anyway, yes, she is also an uncannily talented comedic actress, probably the best in American film for decades, and I appreciate that she speaks up for auteurs here. It's just that I've always been in love with her. Who wouldn't be?
I fell in love with Parker Posey from 'The House of Yes'. Love seeing her in anything.
Loved her on "As The World Turns" and since.
Legend. Absolute legend.
Parker Posey is the real thing. I heard about her from someone else.
The woman recognized Posey in Greenwich Village and said hello and Posey said hello back and started a conversation with the woman. During conversing, Posey for some reason or another,
thought the woman was down on her her luck and asked her if she needed a hand out. The woman told her, "Everything is ok, but thanks for the thought."
Very down to earth and a fine human being.
Come to think of it, the woman was dieting and maybe Posey heard her stomach grumble.
Parker posey… a living icon
Loved her in Dazed and Confused:)
I have such a crush on Parker Posey.
Such a hit in Superman Returns.
Love the Agnes Morehead reference 😊
Really a unique beautiful actress.
iv been saying it all year it feels like a safer 90s- Parker Posey is great
Parker made a GREAT Dr Smith on the Nflix Lost in Space series.
Iconic legend!
She was also great in You’ve Got Mail. When she’s harassing Tom Hanks saying You did it!!! About closing down the small bookstore 😂
Joaquin and Parker Posey- both are so pleasantly whacky. I so wanted her to play Harley to his Joker ❤️
Favorite actress of all time.
I LOVE HER SO MUCHH
Parker can do no wrong in my book! ❤️❤️❤️
I love her finally
She totally still has it❤❤❤❤❤❤ I:love her.
Loved her when I saw her in Superman.
Loved her Agnes Moorehead "Bewitched" reference. 😂
i did not know i could be even more in love with this woman, but there you go
I saw beau is afraid on Sunday. I thought it was fantastic !
I read that she have a twin brother but I swear Elizabeth Banks is her lost triplet sister.
Parker all day every day 🗽
I loved her in Party Girl! Hey hey hello!
I find it funny he talks about meeting her at Chris Kattan's wedding when they were in a movie together, Spring Breakdown two years prior. haha
I have always had the biggest crush on Parker Posey lol.
