  • Sebastien Chabal always made an impact on the rugby pitch. His response to the All Blacks Haka at the quarter final of the Rugby World Cup 2007 is one of the most memorable scenes of the recent Rugby World Cups. Would this be the scariest Haka response ever in the RWC history?

Goose bumps when the French took their vests off, revealing the French flag as they marched in unison towards the halfway line to stand tall in front of the Haka!
After this challenge, the rules were changed to keep opposing teams away from the Haka. Shame in my opinion. As far as I know New Zealanders love it when teams answer their challenge and moments like this will not be seen again under the current rules.

For years the ABs and France played in their traditional colours and there was no issue. Suddenly they get to this world cup and the French complain forcing the the All Blacks to abandon their traditional black strip . It was a ploy like referring to the ABs as NZ because it was less intimidating . The irony is that they played in that strip the week before against the Scots who had a similar multi strip and it was a sheer nightmare to tell the teams apart.
The ploy worked though and the French won a famous victory helped immensely by a myopic Wayne Barnes. Typical of the French, they went out meekly against an average English team the following game.
