    Hi I have the F900R SE changing from a Gixxer thou and wanting something for the road I can have fun on without hitting silly speeds. I love this bike and it’s everything I ever wanted in a bike for the weekend hack out on the twisty roads. One thing you didn’t mention was how the front suspension is totally non adjustable but also amazing we’ll set up so you don’t need to adjust it. Nice review 👍

    I've had mine for going on to two years now.
    During my last service, they gave me an R1250R as a loan bike, which is a bike I was considering upgrading to in the next year.
    Turns out it just didn't scratch the "fun" itch like my F900r does.

      @PMitchell106 Před 2 lety +4

      Range is my biggest complaint as an owner. But one note that everyone misses is that the F900R is the most fuel efficient bike in this category. Combine that with the fact that the MT-09 fuel capacity went down to 14L on the new model (specs in the table in the video are outdated), and you end up getting similar or better range on the F900R than on the close competitors.

    I beg to differ...this bike is a great beginner bike...i got my A license with nearly zero experience before...i got this bike and its awesome...im growing into it day by day...the problem with small bikes is that you grow out of them quite quickly and in 2-3 weeks you need something bigger...i mean its crazy to jump on a superbike right after taking the test BUT this bike is a good baseline...high torgue, you dont need to rew it so much, handling is absolutly BRILLIANT, not too heavy etc...i mean, for me, this was the best choice i could ever make.

    • @mircea5013
      @mircea5013 Před 3 měsíci +2

      I actually have another issues with "beginner" bikes. Somehow, bike manufacturers think beginners are all midgets. For some reason.
      I'm not THAT tall (180cm), but I have long legs (86-87cm inseam) and long arms (184cm armspan) and all the "beginner" bikes feel like toys to me. My legs are cramped. I actually have cramps in my legs at times. It just doesn't work out for me. I know, I know, there are models like the kawasaki versys, but I just don't like that style of dual-sport/adventure bikes, or whatever it is.
      So when I hop on to a Yamaha MT03, or the G310 R, they're small. Anything below 81cm seat height is a no-go for me, even that feels low. So, what should I do? Get a bike I'm not comfortable on? Or just get a more powerful one? :)
      Also, doesn't this have rain mode? Can't this be limited to A2 for lower performance? I don't see why this would be a terrible beginner bike.. Does it surprise you in any way when you ride it? is it brutal?

    I disagree with what is said in this video about the parallel twin engines being boring. These engines are the ones that have the most fun on the streets. I rode and owned many motorbikes over time and my favorites were always the twins it doesn't matter if they were V, boxer or parallels.

      Agreed, compared to quick shifters on other brands, the Beemers do tend to be lacking (apart from their in-line fours). We haven't had the pleasure of riding the KTM 790 though.

    @hans-jakobschmidli3725 Před 2 lety +2

    A quickshifter that should not the used in gears 1-3 (according to the BMW handbook) is not worthy of a BMW. It brings you from A to B, but for me, I completeley missed the fun-factor. After just one year I switched to the 2021 BMW S1000R and never looked back. In my opinion the S1000R is worth every penny it costs more than the F900R

    • @MotoTribeTV
      @MotoTribeTV  Před 2 lety +2

      It depends entirely on how much of a beginner you are. If this is the first motorcycle you've ever swung a leg over then no. I'd recommend starting on something smaller. If you are somewhat comfortable with motorcycles you should manage, provided you exercise due caution. In terms of height, our shortest rider stands at 5'4 and he managed just fine so I'd imagine you wouldn't have too many problems.

      The F 900 R utilizes the BMW parallel twin engine layout. As far as seat height goes, the older F800 R had a slightly lower standard seat height of around 800mm as apposed to the 820mm of the new 900. Still very manageable but as always, BMW has a range of different seats in their catalog to suit taller or shorter riders.
