Lilly, the GOAT of DTs. Emmitt the GOAT of running backs. Troy and Roger, two of the greatest QBs to play. Teams of the 60s, 70s, 80s and especially the 90s, with so many greats
Love seeing the love given to The Playmaker. As Tex Schramm said of Irvin upon the Cowboys drafting him, Michael returns us to the living! I own several Irvin game worn jerseys including # 19 on that countdown. My favorite cowboy. Nice highlight video and 3 of our greatest!
Great to see young fans interested in history. Keep up the good work! My top 5: Lilly, Staubach, Aikman, Randy White, Emmitt Smith. Those 5 are a cut above the rest and could be placed in any order. I've got Irvin at 8 but can see an argument for higher because his passion and competitiveness elevated the team. Larry Allen's close at 6 but loses some points for positional value. A single offensive lineman typically doesn't have as much impact as a QB, RB, or even a great D-lineman can.

Staubach went to the Superbowl 5 times during his 10 year career... Cowboys did not win them all but Captain Comeback got them there. Excellence personified. Randy White brought a level of Toughness to the Cowboys not seen before or since. White was a superb player, nearly annual All Pro... and I just find it kind of amazing that 2 of the Cowboys all time greats were both Defensive Tackles (Lilly).

Hey Cowboys Kid, good-looking vid you made. Hard to argue with Bob Lilly and Emmitt Smith. I think Michael Irvin is underrated, but still have a hard time seeing him in that third slot. Who's number four on your list?

Too many fabulous players for me to pick 3. Your 3 picks are indeed legends, but I would have to add Roger Staubach, Deon Sanders, and Hershel Walker. Household names in my world!
E Smith is the most underrated and under appreciated player in the history of the NFL. No Emmitt would mean no super bowl for the Cowboys in the 90s. None
The Triplets for me,can't pick one without the other two and that's how they'd want it,3 superbowls in 4 years with teamwork, unselfishness and great work ethic Aikman/feild general Emmitt/work horse Irvin/Playmaker
Michael Irvin wasn't even the best number 88. Drew Pearson was awesome, and always made the big plays when they needed them. Without all of the issues that came with Irvin.
Wow! How do you only show a top 3? Bob Lilly is arguably the greatest DT of all time. Emmitt did finish his career with the most yards of any rusher in the history of the game, and the playmaker Michael Irvin, a physical receiver used his size, tenacity, fight for the ball and toughness to absorb many fierce hits while catching pass across the middle of the field, a question comes to mind. Where do you then place Larry Allen and Roger Staubach on the list? Larry Allen was most likely the strongest player in the history of the NFL, and quite possibly the greatest OL that ever played the game. He probably should be listed at number 2 behind Bob Lilly. Then at number 3 is a real tough debate on whether I would put Emmitt Smith or Captain Comeback. I might argue for either one as a tossup, but consider Roger Staubach’s level of success during the time he quarterbacked the Cowboys. There is very little doubt in my mind that the Cowboys would have won Super Bowl V if coach Tom Landry would have played Roger Staubach at QB instead of Craig Morton. From the following year when Staubach began to become the starting QB in Dallas, he led Dallas to 8 playoff appearances in the next 9 seasons, including a 12-7 postseason record in which the Cowboys played in 6 NFC Championship games, having won 4 of them, where he played in four super bowls, having won two of them. I am not sure, but one can make quite the argument for Roger Staubach being in the top 3 Dallas Cowboy players of all time.
