I'm here from the description of a shitpost status lol
My dad loved the movie up. He was always an animation type of guy, but he thought it was top 5 most beautiful movies he's ever watched. He told me it would make him super depressed if our mother passed away before him. He also said it would be unfair to her if he had passed away first.
On the night of 20 September 2014, I was laying next to my father on the hospital bed. He had gone through numerous blood transfusions in attempt to rid the cancer from his skin. We had just finished binging his favorite TV show, Top Gear. Before I head off home, he pulls out his phone and plays this song. With tears running down my cheeks, I looked at my dad, hugged him tightly, and said:
"It's okay. None of this is fair, but it's okay. You were there for all of us, you did your part. You lived your life, and we will keep living ours until we see each other again."
We were held in each other's arms for the next 10 minutes before my dad fell asleep from medication. I took off and went to bed.
21st September 2014, 4AM, my mother wakes me up. Sobbing like there is no tomorrow, and I just knew. Was I sad? Yes. Was I disappointed? No, how could I have been? I was happily depressed. Our dad got taken away from us, but it was not in vain. My family has taken shape today because of who our father was in the past, and we continue to carry his pride.

My grandfather passed away a month ago due to his second brain stroke. Up was one of his favorite cartoon movies, and he loved watching it with me and my younger sister back then.
Weeks before his sudden death, he told me through our video call that his greatest dream right now, after a long time, was to see his all of his grandchildren graduate. He paused for a second, and shortly after, said that the Lord can take him after that.
I didn't get to have a proper goodbye with my grandfather. My grief felt overwhelming, still does right now, and for a while, I've lost interest in doing most of the things I do.
I can't stop my tears from falling whenever I remember all the good times we spent together, especially that talk we had. School, especially this school year (last year in Junior High), was never that much fun for me, and I'd rather do programming for hours every day. But now, I had more drive and motivation to graduate from school, not only for my future, but also for my grandfather.
All I want is to see him again and give him the warmest hug. But even more than that, I hope he is in paradise now.
I miss you so much, Lolo. I'll see you again someday...

Listening to this song it reminds of my grandma who passed away 10 years ago due to cancer when I was about to enter first grade, she wished so much to see me going through school and see how Im doing but she knew she wouldnt have enough time. She told my mom that she trusted I would do well and I did. I owe so much to her for what I know right now since she was the one who taught me how to write and how to do calculations... now standing by the swing which we used to sit on and relax, all rusted up and touched by time, I realized how much time had passed although it felt like yesterday. I didn't know my grandpa that well, but he was a simple man, and that was his beauty, he didn't care about money to much, he had no sense of greed in him, he was a great man that died with a respectful life standing before him, he died at a fairly young age between 55-60, I miss him so much, he was a great man, a great grandfather, I called him poppy Joel, Rest In Peace.
