- Addison Gardner, 12, has testified in West Virginia's legislature in opposition to the state's new abortion law, which would ban abortions even in cases of rape or incest.

The middle schooler asked lawmakers: 'If a man decides that I’m an object, and does unspeakable, tragic things to me, am I, a child, supposed to carry and birth another child?'
She then urged the legislature to reconsider, saying: 'Some here say they are pro-life. What about my life? Does my life not matter to you?'
Rita Ray, an 80-year -old woman who had an abortion in 1959, 14 years before terminations were deemed a constitutional right, looked on as Gardner spoke

Banning abortion will definitely lead to less abortions. How much less is still a question but the numbers will not be the same. Why do democrats always play dumb.
It's not a ban on abortion, it isn't even just about the abortion. The federal government is not meant to have certain powers over all states, the purpose of federal government is to answer to the states and have few and limited powers.
The overturning of roevwade is returning the power of said law to the states and allowing constituents to organize according to the states that fit their freedoms.
The purpose is that the states must represent the will of the majority of the voters of that state or be forced out if office. That is how democracy works.
Yes it does. Uruguay legalized abortion in 2012. Every year since, they number of abortions has increased. The same thing happened in 1973 when abortion was legalized in the U.S. There were more abortions performed in 1975 than in 1974 etc.

This is why pro choice is the only choice. You can debate back and forth all day till the cows come home but it doesn’t change the fact that there are too many variables to consider when a female is seeking an abortion. It could be because she was sexually assaulted, it could be because medically she cannot have the baby, it could be because she knows she’s not mentally ready to have a child. The list goes on and on. The argument of the fetus being a life that should be able to decide its own fate directly contradicts you taking away the mother’s right to have a say so over her own life. No one is asking anyone to agree with abortion. Everyone gets to have their own opinions and beliefs about the topic, however your opinion and beliefs should not dictate what the person next to you does with their life. There are too many children who are in foster homes, killed by their parents or abused or neglected on a daily basis for people to sit around and be disingenuous in their conversations. There are too many school shootings with no realistic gun control for people to keep talking about how abortions are the thing we should focus on when it comes to kids. If you don’t believe in abortion great don’t have one but you shouldn’t have the power to then tell every other woman that she also shouldn’t have the choice to decide what’s best for her. And if you believe that there should be laws in place to prevent abortion then you will need to sign contracts with every woman who wanted or needed an abortion and could not get one where you pledge to take care of that baby for the rest of its life if the mother can’t or doesn’t want to.

Before this stage the fetus is a blob of cells, veins and some developing organs. So awesome!!! ⭐️
Why when people introduce themselves why do they talk about the sports they do?
They think it gives their point more validity. Plus, I'm sure it was written in the speech given to her.
She definitely wrote this herself.
Who cares. She's right

Is the trauma of giving birth greater than life itself?
@@evil-Pessimistic-Podcast In some cases, yes, for not to talking about the mental and physical dangers the baby and the mother can suffer
@@-Honnis- so a life that has a lot of suffering isn't worth living at all?
@@evil-Pessimistic-Podcast That's not what Honnis said. They're saying that nobody should have to go through that kind of suffering whatsoever.
I would also add that the extended suffering of the tr_@umatized twelve-year-old would not justify the existence of a new life. Because in this scenario, you would be playing Russian Roulet with _her_ life and treating her as an expendable means to an end.
She does not deserve to experience that. Her life comes first, not the potential existence of a baby that doesn't exist yet, and it's not fair to prioritize the latter over the former.

The baby is not the perpetrator, the impregator is. Why not propose doing something to the abuser, rather than the innocent victim(s) that was created from the abuse?
Because that would literally not solve anything.

If I get you right, it's just the other way round. I assume you're "pro killing", right? If the "doctor" does it, it's alright?
Well we have different punishment for adults and kids why can't same be applicable on Abortion.

I’m a conservative, and pro-life.
But anyone who believes a child who was 🍇, should have to carry the baby to full term and have the child, is a sick individual.
The child that suffered that trauma should not be forced to endure and live out more trauma that a birth would cause her.
There’s a line that must be drawn, and we should most certainly draw it in a case such these.
Thank you for actually being a smart conservative
@@SweetGem97 I have 3 daughters, and my little girls mental and physical health will always come before my political views.
And even if I didn’t have daughters, I would still be against forcing children to have children.
I believe in cases of 🍇, Moms health, or under the age of consent, should all be afforded the choice of keeping the pregnancy of not.
We shouldnt direct policies to the extreme cases.
