This Game is NOT Garbage! | Disney/Pixar's WALL-E, PS2: i don't have a nose review

- This month, I'm taking a look at the surprisingly highly requested WALL-E game for PS2*! You'll likely notice that there's not much of a focus on the game's story this time around. To begin with, while the opening missions of the game maintain a very thin plot, I didn't think it was especially interesting to talk about, so I focused predominantly on gameplay for the first half of the video. There are also a number of levels that are fairly similar, so it made sense to talk about some of these collectively, and as such there are occasions when I jump out of sequence to talk about some later stages of the game. Anyway, hope you enjoy, guys!
*To those who requested the PS3 game, I do intend to cover that game separately at some point.

This game does look fun, I'm pretty sure the ds version nothing like this but I have to sit down and play it again to be sure, I really laughed at your metal gear reference with the stealth box joke
I'm not sure what version the DS game is but I assume it's the same as or similar to the Wii/PS3 game. I was actually pleasantly surprised by this one. It was refreshing to play something competently made and not tedious. 😂
Its mostly likely 2d like most tie-in games conversions from console

I love Walle My whole family actually love the movie but I won’t lie there was some sad things but all in all Pixar did an awesome job with this movie plus the good thing is they didn’t overstep the boundaries with saving the planet which is a good thing because seriously I’m all up for saving the planet but dude if you force it down my throat that’s not gonna happen

I remember getting this on the PSP back in 2008 as a Christmas Gift from Santa, man i had so much fun!
I absolutely loved the music! (Surprised you didn't talk about the sound track in this game, oh mell next time on WALL-(E) PS3)
Piping in the UMD and hearing that menu music just hits so deeply with nostalgia! Work Day and the tank Playground where all fun! But i just love the axiom levels, (i would always be scared of the dark bits as a kid lmao, had my dad do it for me haha!), The music in the repair ward playground, robot rescue, and life on the axiom are great, but human highway has got to be my favorite in terms of music and level design.
Rooms upon rooms of nothing but destroying robots and getting past frog- err. human highway sections.
I'm loving it!

nostalgic... - i remember that as kid i used to play it that much that i master it to 100% 3 times lol. i think its good game - and the wall-e race was super cool to play with friend.

for me this game is among the legendary of my childhood....
I'm surprised you didn't talk more about EVE getting shocked instead of WALL-E because it's one of the biggest changes to the story compared to the movie.
Two things that made me wanna lose my mind
1. The level where you have to rescue eve in the factory
2. Hearing wall e's favorite song after a long hard level

Great video as always Micheal, one of the best pixar films gets a pretty good movie tie in game, it's usually not to be expected with movie tie in games. I had a recommendation but it's for three games but they are not movie tie in games but where on the ps2 and ps3 and are now on the ps4 and ps5. The recommendation was for you to review the three Jak and Daxter games made by Naughty Dog, which I totally forgot they made it, thats the same developers as The Last of Us and Uncharted. Anyways this property is nostalgic to a lot of people including me and I've noticed an increasing number of reviews about either all three Jak and Daxter games or it's just on the first game, so there is a lot of love for the games if you haven't played them.
Weirdly enough, I've been thinking about Jak and Daxter ever since the Treasure Planet review when I gave it a mention! It might happen eventually, I'll see.

@@idonthaveanose it's fine and I hope to see you someday review the three jak and daxter games, I've been recently replaying the first one and something that doesn't hold up is the camera controls, they are inverted and you can't change them unfortunately, and I personally hate inverted controls unless it's for flying in video games, but I had such a sense of nostalgia that I'm powering through it. Also if you answer yes to the question i left for your q and a, when I asked will you ever review newer games I have another three recommendations. Quick question though what do you think of Konami and Rockstar? (the video game companies)

@@TheNerdstalgicPodcast Yes! They get a lot of criticism, but the vast majority are okay, I think - some are really good. I've noticed a slight resurgence in movie-inspired games recently. Outright Games seem to do some movie-based games, but I've never played them. I think they did Scrat's Nutty Adventure, and possibly the Jumanji game but I might be mistaken.

The Scrat one basically looks like the PS2 Ice Age 2 game. I think the newest Disney movie game I own is Pixar's Brave on PS3. And it's nothing like the movie at all, haha

At some point I would like to cover the PS3 version - the initial plan was to cover both in the same video but the PS2 version gave me a surprising amount of material to work with.

The Xbox 360 part of the game is hard.
This game is completely different from the PS4/Xbox360 version of WALLE the game. This is a much better version too with better graphics, which I think is strange.

Wall-E has and always will be one of my favourite Pixar films to watch. And it's good know that one of my favourite films actually got a good video game adaptation.
I've just finished the xbox 360 version and o thought I'd come back and watch this video, but omg am i annoyed 😅 as the PS2 version of the game looks way more fun and interesting then the next gen version 😅😅 like wtf! Hahaha
