- Yes, this time I'm taking a look at Scooby-Doo's PS1 debut, which sees Scooby, Shaggy and the rest of the gang hunt down the Phantom Virus while trapped in their very own video game. Will they find a way out, or are they Scooby Dooby done for?
Notes:
- 0:24 - Not sure 'camp' is the right word, but it's definitely corny
- 3:33 - Yes, I know my Greta Garbo sounds more like a vampire
- 10:13 - My capture card could not handle the brightness of the Arctic levels, and the background here is pretty much indistinguishable. The card tends to exaggerate the contrast in either really dark or really bright areas and I genuinely can't help it - it's a fairly old card now. Honestly, I played around with so many settings to try and make it look as best I could, and I couldn't make it any better, so apologies
- 15:25 - Yes, I do my own choreography

I grew up with A Pup Named Scooby-Doo and the song is just very good is the best out of all of the Scooby-Doo's
If you want something Scooby Doo related that's a bit more up your ally, might I recommend, "Scooby Doo On Zombie Island", or the 2010 TV series, "Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated"?
Tbh it's always surprised me that I was never into Scooby-Doo, as I grew up with a lot of HB shows.

the sound that fun fair robot makes used to give me nightmares as a kid along with the screaming skull astronaut. television was 🎃scary👻 in the 1970's and so were the powercuts

I had this account every since I was 20 that's because I finally learned how to do it
I hated the Egypt level as a kid and still do the reason the BATS. It was always a small platform and here comes an enemy you can't see and if they hit you you have a good chance of getting knocked off the platform and fall to your death.
Those levels are painful! The platforming is some of the worst I've experienced.
If I was six or five I would say I definitely 100% grew up with CZcams the reason why I say I almost threw up with you too because I was 14

I’m glad that I got to be at the premiere ☺️ I liked the movie when I was a child but recently I rewatched all the scooby soo movies and this movie didn’t impress me that much like when I was a kid , quess I saw it with other eyes . I wish this game was launched for ps2 and at least be like the scooby doo ones for ps2 . I really liked the last part of the movie where they got to that amusement park, And It would be cool if I could free roam in the city and the amusement park 🌃🎢🎡 unfortunately they made it for ps1 . Great review ✌🏻 PS : I spilled the popcorn 🍿 when I read that you didn’t watch the Jetsons which is better than the flintstones 😲

You should play Scooby-Doo Unmasked for PS2, from a guy who’s played a lot of Scooby-Doo video games I honestly consider it the superior Scooby-Doo licensed game and a bit of an underrated gem too.
Oh he should play mystery Mayham that one was one of my favorite ones

@@jamieharrell5321 That game is pretty good too also Scooby-Doo A Night of 100 Frights is another game I’d recommend cause it feels more like the 60’s Where are You? Television series. The only thing I don’t like about it are the load up screens their annoyingly long.

Unmasked and Night of 100 Frights were both good, Unmasked was great even, surprisingly so.
Can't say the same for Mystery Mayhem though, which was another Scooby game from the PS2 era.
Oh plus did you know in Scooby Doo unmasked the late great Adam west got to play In the game if you’re a true Batman fan you would love this

I never told you this my friend you want to know what's so crazy I was fourteen when I first started looking at CZcams that was like in the early 2000s I am now 34 I almost grew up with CZcams
I am a die hard Scooby Doo fan and even I couldn't be asked to play past the first couple of levels. However, there's a PS2 gamed called Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights that was my absolute favourite as a kid that I think has aged very well.
Wow, everyone is recommending that one. 😂 At some point I'll give it a try.

I only watched and liked the cyber chase movie and never played the game because I grew up with the PS2 and all of it's Scooby Doo games which I would be interested to see you review them if you're up for it of course.

The Final boss is 100% luck based. He moves way to fast.
I like this game but the final boss is the worst boss I have ever fought
I recently learned how to beat him easier, it's better to not jump when trying to dodge him in phase 1 and 2 but still it's luck based, in phase 3 I have no idea how to dodge, but with not jumping in phase 1 and 2 I had enough life to survive but still it's unfair.
I think someone else might've suggested this, but Scooby Doo Unmasked is a surprisingly fun game!

This game kind of reminds me of Crash Bandicoot Warped meets Looney Tunes. Kind of mind boggling seeing the cyber scenes to this game

I'm a big fan of Scooby-Doo, that is early Scooby-Doo, outside of whats new Scooby-Doo and the animated movies, I didn't like modern Scooby-Doo much, but this game looks very um... ps1 license gamish, was interesting to watch tho

Yeah... this is one of the ps1 games I grew up playing which did not age well. It was difficult due to poor depth perception, wonky combat and stiff gameplay.
Are we going to gaze off the fact that this is a total ripoff of Crash? I know, it's silly, but come on! Don't they think Shell Shocked was enough? Anyway, great video, as always :)
I get what you mean but I didn't really see this as a Crash rip-off - more just a really basic platformer with some similarities. I found Shell Shocked and Lilo and Stitch to be much closer to Crash than this one.

@@idonthaveanosePersonally, I saw similarities with Crash 3, especially the round selection screen, and a female character (Coco/Velma) next to the game saving screen. And the stages are 3D linear platforming minus the bombs. But you're right, the others are closer.

I actually hated this game, just as bad as the film it is based on.
Night Of 100 Frights is better than this and it's my favourite Scooby Doo game (not really a huge Scooby fan and the only games I've played of his are this, Night Of 100 Frights and Mystery Mayhem)
