I love Secrets resorts and typically book preferred club, but didn’t this time. We are going in August. Contemplating whether to upgrade or not. I heard you say they do not have a preferred pool. Do you know if they have a preferred section on the beach? BTW - I really appreciate your videos. Very helpful! Thank you.
They don’t have a separate PC beach area, which is different than most other Secrets properties. I think if the upgrade cost is minimal than go for it. Otherwise, my opinion is it’s not needed at this location!
hi, where are you guys heading off too next? I was hoping to go to secrets cap cana this year but my wife wants to go back to excellence el carmen as the private pool and deck rooms are so great.

How do you think the Secrets/AMR brand compares to the Excellence/Finest brand in terms of amenities and service?
Hi Justin! It’s Brittney, but no one spells it correctly, so no worries 😊. I think they are very comparable. I like AMR slightly more because they have more resorts to chose from. Excellence doesn’t have the timeshare push, so that’s a plus for them. Both are terrific options, and super similar.
How do these compare to Sandals? currently have Sandals booked in June for Honeymoon but considering this one.
I don’t really think they’re comparable, other than both being adults only, all inclusives. Sandals is great if you want extras included, like the catamaran ride. Which resort you have booked will play a huge role. I’d circle back to your travel agent and see which they recommend for you.
Thank you so much for your videos - I really enjoy them and they helped us planning our honeymoon. We would love to work with you as an agent but unfortunately we are not from the US. For our last part we need to decide between ERC and Secrets Akumal (rebooked from Atelier) - 5 nights stay in an EC / PC swim up and no difference in costs. What option would you choose?

Just watched the review of Secrets Akumal and have to say found it very informative. We are giving this resort serious thought for early 2024 maybe Feb or March, not sure if you could offer any advice as to which month is better. Now going to watch Hammock Cove which is another possibility for 2024. Thanks from the UK.
Nothing notable about Feb vs March. Both are peak months so I would decide based on price.
Is there a barrier that you cannot pass regarding snorkeling in front of the hotel? Can you go only so far out? Thank you. Beautiful videos. We go 2/2023. Just returned from Secrets Cap Cana 8/2022.

I love this resort but must admit the double standard for men is ridiculous. Pants and shoes in hot weather? It's a chore to pack extra clothes, but that's what you get unless you go in moo moo.
Besides that gripe, I must say this is the best Secrets in Mexico. The food, service, rooms, and beach is an exceptional experience. Never disappointed.

@@gersenapayton6010 no, they are sexist in my opinion. Women get away with wearing next to nothing and men have to cover up in the steamy heat. Men have to wear long pants, shoes, sleeved shirt. Women on the other hand can come in anything deemed as clothing.
I recomend taking linen clothes for guys. If men show up in shorts, they make them sit in outside dining areas. I end up having to take twice as much clothes because of this machismo gender role they enforce on everyone.
I think the men should just say they are identifying as a woman during their trip and then they can wear anything they want to ;-)
