Wow best easy watch inclusive review. We did the turtle excursion with the guy on the beach that charged. I think it was $25 several years ago and they said if you don't see turtles you don't have to pay and they were serious and it was wonderful because it was just me and my husband. He had a float that he would pull me on when I felt tired. And of course they know exactly where the turtles are so you definitely get to see turtles. It's worth every penny!! But again, kudos on your presentation. This is the most pleasant review, interesting review and easy to watch review I've ever seen. Keep it up!!

Great to know about the turtle excursion, as we really were not sure whether to do it. Seems we would have seen more turtles if we did it.
Love hearing an honest review and thoughts, appreciate comparisons too! but thought your video showed too much of just the two of you speaking. For people who haven't been, we really want to see more of what the resort looks like, while listening to your comments. Eg when you talk about the beach to show more panning video of the beach area, the seating, the water, than stay still and see you the narrator with the beach just in the background.
Great feedback and noted for next time. We plan on doing more resorts in Riviera Maya/ Cancun area so will be sure to show more of the resort itself.

If you like Mexico and Secrets resorts and are looking for an amazing beach try Secrets Maroma. Snorkeling isn't as good as Akumal but the beach is amazing!
We heard Secrets maroma beach is really nice. Have you been?
We might try that secrets next time to compare.
You want a great gym you need to go to the hyatt zilara cap cana. Best gym at a resort Ive ever seen. And Im new to your page. Really like your reviews!! Keep up the great work!

In other resorts in Mexico, we typically have always been able to order alcohol to the room. It just so happens at this resort, we never ordered alcohol through room service so cannot confirm.
I just booked TRS for first week of April and paid $2300/person all in (ie airfare/hotel/transfers/taxes) from Toronto. I was seriously considering Secrets Akumal too. It was $700-1000/person more than TRS would you say ts worth that much more $??
Hmm that’s a tough one I think it’s definitely worth $500pp more than TRS but once you go over I’m not so sure.
Something to consider is TRS has no beach to speak of you have to go over to Grand Palladium, something to consider if you value the beach.
The flip side of TRS is you have the use of multiple resort facilities that you won’t get at Secrets Akumal.
The double flip side is at Secrets we never felt like we needed more things to do, which we did at TRS 😅.
The attention to service and detail at secrets for us was 10/10 whereas as TRS felt like a 7/10
Ultimately if there is anyway to get secrets for for $1000 in total more it’s worth it
@@ANTSEL Thanks for the reply! We picked TRS just because it seemed a decent value for $. The beach thing didn't bother us because we love to walk and we liked having the other resorts to explore and we loved that infinity pool. Its hard to go wrong with any Secrets property but I think the key with some of the higher end properties like Secrets and especially Excellence properties is to book WELL in advance. When I started looking a resorts late summer/early fall I could have booked Secrets Akumal for about $2500/person for 7 days all in. By the time I booked TRS in early November Secrets was over $3K. Most of the Excellence properties weren't even available to book by then. If you are looking for a little bit more affordable Secrets property Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana is good value for $ especially if you book early (when I started looking it was $2300) and has an amazing beach (Bavaro beach is one of my favs. calm, wide and you can walk forever) and you also get use of Dreams next door. I was tempted to book the new Secrets Playa Blanco in Playa Mujeres. It was good deal but I'm leery of new resorts and I like the lush mature grounds of the established resorts. The other resort I REALLY liked and had fabulous reviews was Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya. Its a bit more $ than TRS and a bit less than Secrets and the only reason I didn't book it was the fact that it's set back from the ocean and you can't see the ocean from anywhere on the resort except the beach. There are no ocean view pools, restaurants or rooms (there is an ocean view category room but you can't see the ocean for the foliage and they are a lot more $).
Would you recommend this for the price?
You made a good decision. If Secrets were less, then yes, but at that price difference it is not so worth it. We loved TRS the first time we went there. The second time was post the pandemic, and I think they had some issues after re-opening. The spa, pool, food are all great. Enjoy!
And they say you Americans don't get much holiday time 🤣
