We are going here in Feb and these videos were so well done and helpful!
Just found your videos yesterday. Love them. You offer a comprehensive review and ive seen all the others lol. Much appreciated
I appreciate that so much! đ€
I like the addition of the pros and cons from both of you!
We will keep doing it! Iâll be sure to get Ethanâs thoughts on his trip in June. He picked the resort đ
This was a great series and very informative from Akumal. Can't wait to see your trip in June.
Thank you
I am really sad to see these end. I am so much more excited for my vacation, and also embarrassed I watched these all in one sitting! Ha! I subscribed. I definitely want to see where you go next.
Glad you like them!
Great videos! My husband and I went to Secrets Cap Cana last year, this year we're doing Secrets Akumal in August. Will be nice to see how they compare! We LOVED Secrets Cap Cana! The beach is amazing, and the staff were all so friendly.
Iâve tried to go there twice in the past, and both times my flights were canceled. Fingers crossed that third times a charm! Have fun at Akumal đ
Great informative videos. My wife and I went to Secrets Capri 3yrs ago, and we really enjoyed it. I can't wait enjoy Secrets Akumal this month. Thanks for helping to make our decision easier
Youâll love it!
We are considering a vacation in September to either Secrets Moxche or Secrets Akumal. Can you compare the pros and cons as compared to both? We are going for a 50th birthday and going with other couples and family members.
Really enjoyed your videos! Can you share your top 5 cocktail to order in Cancun?
This is a hard one! It kinda depends where I am, because some resorts have better mixers than others. Youâll see I like sweet drinks:
1. Strawberry mojito
2. Mango margarita
3. Mango tango
4. Miami vice
5. Rum punch
We are headed to Secrets Akumal in February and I just found your videos! Thank you so much for taking the time to put these together. I am so excited to experience this resort! I do have a quick question if you are still following questions on these videos: How do you get all of your liquids to Mexico in a carry on only?? Sunscreen, aloe, makeup, etc. How do you do it? I would love to not check a bag but I'm nervous!
I buy 3oz items and I donât limit how much I take. Iâve been taking as many liquids as I need (as long as itâs under 3.4oz) for over ten years. If I need 3 bags of liquids thatâs how much I take, but normally itâs two bags for my husband and I. I use âhardâ plastic bags from Amazon not ziploc bags. They are linked in my Amazon storefront đ
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel Thank you so much! I think Iâm going to try it!!
We stayed at Secrets Akumal April 2018 and our hugest con was the "towel game". It was IMPOSSIBLE to get a spot around the main pool no matter how early you went ! The drink service at the beach was great ! Can't speak about drink service around the pool since we could NEVER get a spot
We didn't see that issue (anymore than normal I guess). I know some resorts are good about removing belongings after an hour or two (which is how it should be), perhaps they have a pool concierge keeping a closer eye now. I also get up before the sun, so I do get first dibs. Beach service was fantastic!
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel The funny thing is the 2 most expensive resorts we have ever visited (Secrets Akumal,Excellence Mujeres) had the worst towel games while the Hard Rock Vallarta, Hard Rock riviera Maya and any of the RIU resorts had very little towel game. My experience has been the resorts that use the âtowel cardâ system always seem to have more loungers available.
Some great Sunrises at Secrets Akumal đ
The only good thing I get from never sleeping in đ
This might be an odd question, but could you share about reserving pool/beach loungers and if you would recommend a backpack or some sort of beach tote for bringing your items to these areas? Curious what is the best option to do that sort of thing! Thanks so much for sharing, looking forward to visiting!
I definitely recommend a beach bag! Youâll have more stuff to carry than you probably think. People save with sunscreen, cups, books, etc. I donât save a seat unless Iâll be sitting in it soon. So Iâll put my stuff down, go get breakfast, and then have my butt in the chair within an hour đ
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel Sounds like a good ettiquette tip! So you'd say it's safe to leave non-valuables unattended for about that amount of time? Thanks again...
Iâve had sunscreen go missing from my chair before (at a variety of places). For the most part things are safe. But Iâd never leave anything of value.
My husband and I are going in August and we have really enjoyed your videos. We have the swim out option which I was skeptical about bc I wonder how often we will use it. Thanks so much for all of your tips. Canât wait to go!!!!
Youâll love it!
We have 11 and 13 year old boys. What resort would you recommend for family? They are both more like teens (not into characters or daycare camps). Probably water park or activities like that. Iâd be happy to book with you as My current agent hasnât replied to me in weeks, passed me off this his assistant and then ghost.
@@jenniferbadgley5795 we'd have to chat further once I knew dates/budget. You can go onto my website to submit a quote request! www.memoriesandmojitos.com
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel done. Look forward to hearing from you
Iâm currently traveling, and will get back to you on Tuesday!
Fantastic video series. How does this compare to Atelier? Which one would you recommend for a honeymoon trip? Thanks in advanceđ
Thank you! So, I really love both resorts. Itâs going to come down to what youâre looking for, and if you plan to do many excursions. If youâre not already working with a travel agent and youâd like my help (assuming you live in the US) feel free to reach out and we can figure out the best one for your honeymoon! memoriesandmojitos.com/quote-request/
Great videos guys! Do you think itâs worth paying for the Preferred category? Thank you
I think itâs a toss up at this property, since thereâs no preferred pool. It would have been nice for the ala carte breakfast option, but besides that I didnât miss out on anything.
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. Your videos are very helpful!!!
Did you bring the floaty or did you get that there? A friend said they saw a review saying that you can bring your own pool floaties. What is your experience with this?
I always bring my own, and leave it behind for someone else when I go đ
ffantastic ~ :)
Just wondering in your candy/tip bags how much money do you put in each bag? Thank you! Iâm sure you told us but I canât remember which video it was in.
It completely varies on the situation. Anywhere from $1-$20. đ
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel thank you!
Ooof here now this is like the McDonaldâs or Disneyland of vacation: i am legit so depressed wish i never came - agent told me it was Tulum beach road đ€ŠđŒââïž
I donât understand your comments. Youâre 30 minutes from Tulum. Perhaps you need a new travel agent who can book you at the right place for your wishlist.
Hi Brittany, My husband and I are looking to return Mexico this coming January. We typically stay on the Pacific side of Mexico (Huatulco, Punta Mita, Puerto Vallarta), but are planning to stay of the gulf side for this trip. We were not fans of the Riu Palace Peninsula or the hotel zone near Cancun. I know you've stayed at several of the hotels that I am interested in for our upcoming visit. Would you be willing to rank Secrets Akumal, Secrets Moxche and Atelier Playa Mujeres for me (1st, 2nd, 3rd)? Are they comparable at all? I've watched all of your videos on these resorts, but am having trouble deciding since they all look great. Thanks for any support you might be able to offer.
Hi Kristie! Iâd connect with your travel agent to see what they think is the best option for you. I can rank them for what I like, but that has no bearing on how YOU like to vacation. I like them all for different reasons. Atelier is my current number one. If you donât have a travel agent and would like to book with me you can fill out a quote request form and we can chat. Best of luck đ
Thank you! I appreciate your quick and honest feedback. Over time, Iâve started to research and book on my own due to some issues that Iâve had with my travel agent in the past (Iâll spare you the details). I really respect and trust your opinion and would be interested in potentially booking with you in the future. For this trip, however, I have a credit available through Apple Vacations as a result of a cancellation that I made previously. Cheers!
@kristierahm3396 youâre welcome! For the future, any travel agent can apply the Apple Vacations credit. Just tell them about it from the beginning so theyâre sure to book you with Apple.
Good to know. Did I see somewhere that you donât book flights for your clients? Iâm looking to bundle if at all possible. Thanks. đ
what do you consider the best adult all inclusive resort in mexico?
Currently, I like Atelier Playa Mujeres
I need to know where your husband works, I need to find me a job that allows that much vacation time!đ€Ł just kidding! you guys are blessed, I enjoyed the whole series! keep'em coming!
Public School. Which means we travel during the peak & expensive times đ
which secret resort did you like better this one or cazemel?
They are not comparable resorts, but Iâd pick Akumal if I had to choose.
What currency do you tip in?
I tip in USD. If you need to convert your currency because youâre from Canada, the UK or elsewhere, get MXN.
I think Kevin needed some more notes.....you gave a lot more pro's n con's than he did đ
Kevin was heavily redacted đ
