Devourer of gods is still my favourite calamity boss, just hearing the drop to universal collapse and then watch the giant worm of cosmic steel burst out of a portal brings me chills

The thing i love about DOG infernum is that for first timer the fight might be ass but when you get used to the fight it is probably one of the most satisying and fun boss fight after you beat it

Disagree; bastard is too fat, fight overstays its welcome and becomes just tedious really fast.
I'm used to the fight and it still is ass. Not used to it like the no hitter in the video but used to it to the point where I can maybe beat it after like fiftyish attempts. I know all the moves and how to avoid them but when the time comes I normally get screwed over by the very small window where you can't dash again, or he just flies out of the map never to be seen again and I have to either log out or butcher him with something like Cheat Sheet.
Or he just rams me with his massive ass forehead and instakills me because that sure is a fun mechanic 👍
Doing this without minimap / background map is actually insane well done I just beat infernum DOG today for the first time after 2 DAYS OF ATTEMPS so good job
Although minimap does slightly make it easier, it’s not that much harder minimap makes it slightly more consistent, also for me this was easy to nohit
Idk, i fight all the bosses with no minimap as for me it makes it harder, like what the hell is happening on the screen

@@unoriginal2552 it is way too hard and precise i havent gotten past phase 2 in my ranger playthrough you need to ram at just the right time to dodge the head, in phase 2 its too fucking fast to keep up with it

After beating Infernum DoG myself i must say
That Revengence and Death mode DoG is nothing in comparison with Infernum mode DoG
I love this fight because it's the only infernum fight I actually managed to no-hit

@@Hostefar there different damage sources than head like lasers or body which you actually hit quite often when dashing wrong

@@Xeamlesstimings aren't fun when it comes to something like DoG. You have precisely zero seconds to get back in the timing if you screw it up once. Because if you mess up a single time, well that's a nice 600 damage you just took isn't it? And oh look you just ran into one pixel of my body afterwards! Don'tcha know that's another 170 damage?
@@unoriginal2552 so don't mess up? With a glass cannon build I can survive a head and body combo. You have around half a second to get back in it. Iframes exist. The timings are purely just from practice, and are around a half second window as far as I can tell. Dog is really just a endurance fight over 2 minutes if how much you can remain consistent and not get your rhythm broken. Yes DoG is one of the hardest bosses in the mod, yes many people may not find it fun, but it is in no way poorly designed
Love the start of the second phase here. Seeing the giant mech worm blast out of the portal as soon as the drop of Universal Collapse hits gives me chills. The laugh is just the cherry on top.

God, Universal Collapse is such an amazing soundtrack. It gives me chills everytime I hear it. It really encapsulates the feeling of fighting a hyperpowered cosmic entity.

I have played many difficult video games, retro, metroidvania, dark souls, others.
This boss is really one of my favorites, few bosses make you synchronize with him to such an extent that it feels epic, especially when the boss himself mocks your attempts or tries to prevent you from defeating him.

I played like 9 mins of terraria so i don't understand anything
but this looks so awesome that i was frozen in place the whole time jaja
So I started playing Terraria for the past month, completed a normal world, ima try a new game on expert and then jump directly to calamity (wish me luck lol)
youre going to need to have a wiki by your side at all times when playing calamity, and constantly look up the best builds for the fight 😭

Well rip I guess this is where my infernum run ends. I just can't. Other than this boss fight I've loved all the others in this mod.

Really all you need for this boss is patience. It just takes learning the attacks and it's mechanics, because the game made it so one way or another no attacks are unpredictable, even if he switches up on your randomly on one of the dodges. It took me 15 attempts with a summoner build, so just make sure you have the best equipment

This fight was one of the hardest for me to beat in Infernum. It was a huge journey all the way through. Learning every individual attack, getting the timing right, figuring out the mount to use for the evil laugh attacks, and dying over 100 times to eventually get one successful attempt. The predictive dashes with the fireballs was a huge choke point for me, and it was only when I looked up the number of dashes before the worm popped out for longer that I beat it- and it was on the same exact attempt.
And it STILL took less attempts than the Profaned Guardians.

This fight seems like a dream to master, the flow state you've got to reach, especially for a no-hit, is insane. I felt a sliver of this fighting the Eater of Worlds on a bugged difficulty mod that made all segments take 1 damage, at 27000 health. It was a ridiculous endurance fight that I believe lasted an hour in real time, because the difficulty spike caused by breaking the worm was too intense, so he had to be kept whole, whittled from tail to head. Right when I was closing in, and he was at maybe 20% health, right then the sky got stormy and the party that'd been going on ended, which put a humorous "final phase" effect on the whole thing that I desperately wish I'd had footage of. It wasn't a shadow of this fight, but that was the first time I felt a sort of calm flow fighting a boss.

One of my favorite bosses in calamity, has a amazing song, memorable, and a really hard boss. It feels so good to just kill him and you feel awarded even though the play through is not over

I think I got how you avoid him try to coil up by faint him a little to his body before moving out. Quite a feat for quick to panic like me ; w ;
But it still wonder how you can ram through his body without get hit.... my timing never have enough I-frame with horizontal charge, even when almost too late for headshot (vertical is fine...).
