  • How to make Hopiang Monggo
    Came from the chinese word “ho-pia” which means “good pastry”, hopia is a popular inexpensive Filipino pastry filled with bean paste, ube halaya, onion, or pork. Try to make this very simple recipe of our Hopiang Monggo filled with Mong Dal Beans (you can also use green monggo or ube halaya as your filling). So delicious! 😋
    Ingredients
    Monggo filling:
    * 1/2 cup mong dal beans (yellow/white monggo)
    * 3 cups water
    * 1/2 cup all purpose flour
    * 1/4 cup condensed milk
    * 1/2 cup sugar
    Dough 1
    * 1 cup all purpose flour
    * 1/4 cup shortening
    * 1/4 cup water
    * 1 tbsp sugar
    * 1/4 tsp salt
    Dough 2
    * 1/2 cup all purpose flour
    * 1/4 cup shortening
    * 1 tbsp sugar

      Hello there! 👋🏼 it might be that your dough was soft or the water was too much. Or might as well, the dough was okay but the monggo filling was too watery. 🙂

      Mommy Amy Julian hello po. First and second dough is about 5 mins each. Then combine both, and knead until it becomes flaky. Pag iko combine na and doughs, mga 8 layers would be okay po para maging flaky ang layers.
