Hi Tyler, I have a question. I got my Nickel last weekend and have ridden about 4 times now. Today I noticed that when I pushe 1-2 times and cruise, all's good with my balance, but when I take my leg off to push again on the second or third push my right leg (I'm goofy) starts to wobble a bit and I loose balance. I feel it going unstable with every push. I don't loose balance turning or just cruising short distances, but those pushes threw me off balance today a few times. Do you have a tip to improve that? Maybe I'm either throwing my left leg too much around, or putting more weight on the left side while doing that? It's a real bummer that I can't push more than 2-3 times in total while riding and have to stop, readjust and continue.

Just seeing this now. First off, congrats on getting your Nickel and getting out there and giving it a go! For your specific issue, it’s hard for me to say because I cannot physically see what you are doing when you push. Generally, I’d ask what you’re doing with your right foot when you feel imbalanced. Are you turning/adjusting your foot? Adjusting from a sideways position (like when you are cruising) to a straight position (like when you push) can cause imbalances if your foot is not fully adjusted straight. If you notice this isn’t the case, I would then look to how you are specifically pushing with your left foot. If you are shifting your weight around too much when you do, or if you are pushing to aggressively/quickly, the momentum and weight displacement can cause imbalances

Thanks man! It's been fun. Never been on a board before and thought I was having a 30's crisis, but here we are. Cruising and all. I think based on what you said my issue is with pushing and I think my right knee leans a little to the left. I'll bring my camera next time and record myself, because honestly I feel like it's a different thing each time. @@pennyboardtyler

Hey Tyler - I took the time to actually film the way I skate and I believe the issue lies in the way I push. I'm adding a super short unlisted vid here that shows my "incredible" pushing technique - if you or anyone else here that has an interest in seeing bad pushing in practice can take a look at it and share some advice, that'll be awesome: czcams.com/video/wZehOl6OPo0/video.html&ab_channel=MyalismFilms Thank you! @@pennyboardtyler

I love when people hype other people up, especially when trying something new. May not seem like a lot- but it’s beautiful to see you cheer on your buddy and give him confidence when he’s starting out. Love to see it! Love your content! I’m getting my first Penny because of your videos- it’s been 20 years since I’ve used a skateboard and I’m in the “I wanna cruise” phase of life now. Was nervous to pick it up again, and your videos gave me the itch to pick one up. Appreciate you!

What 22' inch or 27 inch skateboard? I'm 1.80 tall and my shoe size is 41. I like the design of the 22' inch one.😊

I just answered your other comment about this, but if you really like the design of the 22inch one then by all means go for that one!

Tony Hawk has a "Penny" board that's not half bad at all. I bought one on clearance at Walmart as an inside joke for my inner child, but I was kind of surprised at how well it functions.

I want to find the genuine freak who rides a penny board the other way around. I know they're out there raising eyebrows.
