The only thing you need to start planning in your hobonichi is a pen or pencil. Anything else is just extra. That doesn't mean this video isn't lovely or these tips won't help. It's just a comment saying if you can't afford to keep up with the planner community then you shouldn't feel pressured too. All you need is a pen
Just a little tip for your Tombow dual tip markers, if you add a piece of clear tape over the color numbers it will prevent the number from scratching off. I can’t remember where I saw this little trick but it does help. ♥️
I AM REALLY LOVING THE STICKERS FROM - Shine Sticker Studio on ETSY!!!
Love the new intro and outro! My 4yr old actually noticed that it was different!
Your videos are so educational to me. And I love your your sweet voice. 😊😊😊
Always a pleasure, I have found that zig dot markers are much lighter on the Tomoe paper except that black and the navy. Also as you pointed out writing on the pencil board directly under the page is not great. I have settled on my sharpies and paper-mate flairs no board required and no bleed through.❤
These ARE important planner things!!!😂😂😂
Ty for these amazing tips ❤
Great video. We have several favorites alike. Thanks for the pencil board suggestion on use. I’m a HUGE JetPens fan too. Looking forward to your future videos. Happy New Year!
Just what I needed on a Friday! I am new to Hobonichi thanks to you lol… I got the Hobonichi cousin and I am loving it! LOVE the paper! I will try some of the Sarasa pens and the brushables to compare with my Tombows. Thank you for all these suggestions.
Oh Julie 🤦🏼♀️ you have sent me down the biggest Hobonichi rabbit hole. I’ve just ordered one and am sooooo excited to start planning in this. Thanks for a great video, handy to know which pens work well with the paper xx
Love love this video. Patiently (who are we kidding) waiting on my cousin to be delivered!
I've been planning my whole life, been part of the planner community for 20 years, and a Hobonichi user (Cousin and Weeks) for about 6 years. When I saw this title, my first thought was "the only must have is the planner," but this video is excellent. You are 100% correct about the Tomoe River Paper being unique (which is why I love my Hobonichis). Although someone can start with just a ballpoint pen, the items you mentioned bring beauty to the planner to keep you motivated. Thank you for sharing, Julie. :)
New subscriber!! Thanks for sharing your favorites! Def trying some!
I love using my frixion highlighters and markers. The ability to erase is huge for me. As long as I’m. Gentle the paper is a champ.
Now I want ALL the things!!
I started writing with the Pentel Clena in my Hobonichi at the beginning of last year. Loved it. Then I bought the Pilot Kakuno in August. I love the way the fountain pen glides over the paper. This year, I decided you use both. The Pentel in my weekly section and the Pilot in my daily.
Realized I didn’t ever leave a comment. So watching again but loved the video. As always a great resource!!! 🤍🤍🤍
I agree with you with putting the pencil board 2-3 pages after the actual page I'm writing on. :)
Hint for washi with TRP that might be easier than cutting on a mat… use either a sharp edge ruler or a small hobby knife (pencil size), lay the washi and then press edge on washi and pull up the washi and it should break cleanly. Also King Jim Kitty washi precut strips are amazing!
