Vegetarian Diet or Pseudo Foods? | A patient story

- About 7 years ago I had a young lady come into the clinic who was suffering from intense fatigue and anxiety.
Exercise wasn’t an option because her muscles ached and it exhausted her even more.
She was having yeast and bladder infections multiple times per year.
She had been told that it stemmed from mono she had in her early teens.
Then due to mood swings around her menses and anxiety, she was put on OCP's because covering up her symptoms with artificial hormones was the cure.
Not to mention she was told to take Tylenol, Ibuprofen and Benadryl as needed for her headaches, muscle aches and to help her sleep.
All while her food routine looked like the following:
Breakfast - cinnamon raisin bagel or Poptart and green tea.
Lunch - potatoes, veggie pizza, fruit, spaghetti.
Dinner - veggie burger.
Snack - soda pop and crackers
Water - 60 ounces per day
She was holding to a vegetarian lifestyle.
And as you can see by vegetarian, she wasn’t eating vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds and beans.
No matter what type of diet or lifestyle you're following, if it doesn't include real, whole foods, then it's not supporting your health. It may support weight loss or some other goal, but not optimal health and vitality.
