Daniel MacQueen I think it was a matter where George fit Ozzy's vision regardless of his talent, originality.. At that moment Jake was the guy who fulfilled better the sound Ozzy was looking for. Well, it's just a way to look at it.
I read somewhere George had the gig, and Jake E Lee showed up with the long black hair, George had recently cut his and Sharon made the call, and decided on Jake. as asinine as that sounds... I actually seen an interview where Ozzy talked about there being some really amazing guitarist, but their look did not fit. which may or may not lend credence to the above
@@CharlesRazielshadowrage41 Yea i have also heard something like that but i heard that Lynch cried in the car home because he had just quit his day job for the Ozzy gig
This is Lynch at his best when he is one with his instrument. He is a guitarist that actually feels the instrument and plays from his soul!I love this video because it really shows what Mr. Scary can do!
Fuckin beast! This dude has been gaining more young fans and reassuring us die hard fans that he's on his game and will keep bringing us the most unique sounding almost shred hybrid music until he can't physically play anymore, although I've often wondered if he's even human, he's too good
many yes' and no's with this one. oh man, he really loves jeff beck. proven over time. and i still love his stuff, no matter how unclean it gets sometimes. his feeling for playing is a treat. sorry for bad english whatsoever
mark henson Oh yes he is! Out of the 80' my number one will always be Mr Edward Van Halen,Randy Roahds,Michael Shenker,Yngwie J Malmsteen and Mr Scary's something else as well!!!Ouppppps sorry Satch and Vai but you know, you guys are great but that's all,the lot that i've just named got that extra magic touch... Shit,i've forgotten Mr Steve Stevens, hell of a guitar player as well!!! Hello from France :)
+nicolas sosolic All excellent guitar players, although some of them have similiar styles. George has his own melodic style and tone that's genuine and is excellent. I have some players I like more than rhodes, shenker and malmsteen. I rather have Paul Gilbert, Petrucci, Govan and Marty freidman. But this is about George and he's the best at what he does.
Lynch does sound good with a rhythm guitar backing track. He's never sounded that great playing in a 3 piece, too many weak fills, missed notes. Reb Beach on the other hand has a great technique for a 3 piece band.
chris perry, you're probably right, but Lynch's playing is ART, so much style and surprises and never being less than incendiary, while Beach's just a generic but very competent PRO...to me, there's a difference there
+DarkMetalJazzPunk Nah, artists like Reb Beach and Richie Kotzen have matured over the years I think mainly because both can sing and know how to phrase. Lynch is just no longer relative and is making poor attempts at being "different".
yes, relevant. But you made the same subjective statement but in the positive. Relative could also work because in relative terms, lynch just doesn't measure up to Beach or Kotzen.
George Lynch was and will always be one of the greatest guitarists. He's pure style and musicality. No one sounds like him.
+TheTrueFortress LEGEND!

4:34, vintage, ripping and savage Lynch. Nobody sounds like that. These are George's moments of brilliance in his wiser years.
There is only 1 George Lynch... totally unique Guitarist!
This is Lynch at his best when he is one with his instrument. He is a guitarist that actually feels the instrument and plays from his soul!I love this video because it really shows what Mr. Scary can do!

His tone is much better here than the over-processed Zoom-sounding crap he has had at trade shows the last few years.

mark henson He isn't really a shredder.
Yea he doesn't really shred, just put him next to Paul Gilbert and see the difference lol Not saying Paul is the better player or anything though.
@@Star_Sn1per but listen to George’s playing in the 80’s and the early 90’s just look at that reh video he is a shredder
I have two favorite players. Eric Johnson wears the white hat and George Lynch wears the black hat!
