For all the credit he got in his heyday, Lynch is still underrated. This era of videos and all the rest prove it. What a relationship with the instrument... fucking awesome
One of my favorite things about George is his fearless approach. He wings it, takes chances, no fear of failure, and doesn't stay in the comfort zone like most.
Been a fan of his style since I started playing. He's like a more modern and agressive version of Jeff Beck. You can see/hear his genius and love for the guitar. Legend!
Few people see how similar they are. George really does have a very JB vibe in that he doesnt do sequences or licks like most guitarists. He anchors himself by rhythmic counterpoint and how he dances around a scale...he uses lots of exotic chord-tone intervals. Very slippery and Jeff-like.
I don't see much similarity to Beck in his tone, neither I see Van Halen's similarity in his tone to Clapton, as they have both stated in interviews, I believe they were only influences, does not mean they are going to sound like them eventually or be similar, George has a similar tone to Schenker's, I believe also Demartini has a similarity to Schenker
I’ve always loved Eddie Van Halen but George Lynch is someone deserves to be in the same conversation as him. George constantly evolved and is extremely unique in his tone and playing. Very very creative guitar player and continuously plays well to this day as an almost 70 year old.
George’s playing is just ridiculous. It’s just filthy. I could listen to him jam all day long. It always sounds like him yet fresh and new. He’s amazing
lynch holds his own..i wonder why malmsteen didnt show up...ive seen dokken/lynch mob and rising force....pure excellence on lynch and malmsteen...btw i got my lynch mob tab book signed and got a pick as well from george
I was at that show in 2004. Yngwie did show up, but he pissed off the club owner who kicked him out so George played a double set. Awesome show! His guitar tech had the skull and bones guitar out for us to get up close and personal with during soundcheck.
Dave Morris We never seen him! And for the money Yngie sucks! George on the other hand is a balls to the wall player that does give a damn about his audience. Did you know that same day earlier Ronnie ( RIP) had to get One of Georges' amps fixed for the show that night! Ronnie said he was a very congenial person, and down to earth kinda guy! Hey man i see your a guitarist, so am I. If you like, please checkout one of my latest cuts, it's called "My Axe No Mercy" here's a link > soundcloud.com/user735361361/my-axe-no-mercy-improv-by-dana. Hope you enjoy ✌🏻️Peace
Now, I am glad this guy plays to his own calling. I have really grown tired of guitarists sweep picking these days. Love the phrigian layers of scales to this little jam.
Of all the sweet guitars he has...this tiger for some reason is his best fit jeans we all have...he gets the nastiest sound and even phrasing from it...what can I say I've been listening to him since 87 listened to his early badass shit to that weird shit he played on that one solo album but now he's tearing shit up again more mature and just mean...rhythmically and solos..love his style..keep going george he's got lots on his musical plate now but just shows he still loves what he does n loves his fans...great dude..can't deny miss the dokken ballads and his soaring vocals complimented the guitar but I still it in my car along with all his new stuff...ps..I have the see-thru Orange in his instruct vid but went with reversed black head stock...awesome!!! Axe
just awesome. gotta luv George Lynch even after all these years that guy is still keeping the faith and i love that about him. seems like a cool dude too.
it's stuff like this that makes me almost want to set my kit up and start jamming again!!!! man he kicks ass!!! if i knew it was worth doing i'd probably make time to jam.
Damn Right MIne too, For 33 years and going of myself Playing I'm 42 and he's 62. My B'day is 9-21-74 and his is 9-27-54, 20 years difference and a few days! He's my MENTOR/ INSPIRATION!! Lynch & Martini are my 2 Fav Players on the Planet!!!!!!!
You are the man george, glad you have kept your signature dokken guitar all these years,if i ever wanted a famous persons guitar that is the one lol, cheers george!
That tiger stripe isn't, and never has been an ESP. It was a Boogie Bodies body he got from Wayne Charvel's shop in the late '70's, and it's had several necks over the years, a few made by Karl Sandoval (who made Randy Rhoads polka dot V) and a couple of other necks built by other luthiers. Obviously, since George has been an ESP artist, whatever neck has been on the guitar, it has had an ESP logo. He doesn't actually have the guitar anymore, he sold it at the start of the year
That finish on his guitar could have only been done by destiny in the hands of a true master. It was himself done by his rockstar lifestyle and going with the flow. Check out the story told by him, it's on a video of metal head to metal head with Chris Broderick from Megadeth
He's far from my fave player but I'm convinced he's the best player on the fucking planet. Kinda glad he never reached that kinda Eddie Van Halen poppy status. Saw him with Dokken once and they opened for Judas Priest on their lame ass Turbo tour. Lynch alone, mopped the floors with Priest that night.
For all the credit he got in his heyday, Lynch is still underrated. This era of videos and all the rest prove it. What a relationship with the instrument... fucking awesome
luuuv me some george fucking lynch !!!!!!!!!!!!!
He stills loves his craft, that is why he has NEVER sucked like most players do when they get tired of the pressures. He is still having fun.
I think what makes him so special is how he can go on and on like this forever
One of my favorite things about George is his fearless approach. He wings it, takes chances, no fear of failure, and doesn't stay in the comfort zone like most.
Absolutely agree!
He wings it because he is lazy
@@Rezparviz Sure he is lol.
I love how these haters always have something to spew but they are always checking Mr Lynch out lol. Mr Scary is a legend!!💯🤟🔥
@rex lazy you would get arm pump trying to play half that song
George is an incredible talent. He has a highly distinctive sound & style.
He is way out there in the desert making guitars woking on cars and shredding all at same time tireless massive legend.........
man just think about ALL the cool stuff this guy has done with a guitar. One of the best ever!
I Agree!
In my humble opinion he is THE BEST!
I never get tired of watching George play. He is one bad mofo. My favorite guitarist of the 80s hands down!
Absolutely, Nothing but Love & Admiration for the One & Only, Mr. Scary!

+Michael Allen I agree with you. Always have seen George like a kind of modern Jeff Beck. Good to know that more people think that. :-)
It's not the tone so much as the licks- they have a very Beckian modality to them
The 'modern' Beck comparison is spot on!
Amazing playing. George Lynch is the man. I wouldn’t take 10 Slashes for one George Lynch.
No many scales but a lot of licks...just perfect...this guy really ROCKS......
I’ve always loved Eddie Van Halen but George Lynch is someone deserves to be in the same conversation as him. George constantly evolved and is extremely unique in his tone and playing. Very very creative guitar player and continuously plays well to this day as an almost 70 year old.
I think he blows EVH away.
Love this man and his immense talent
George’s playing is just ridiculous. It’s just filthy. I could listen to him jam all day long. It always sounds like him yet fresh and new. He’s amazing
Lynch is just one of those players that when you hear him, you KNOW it's him.
Sheer talent. Rock on George Lynch!!
One of the most unique and sickest players. One of my top three influences.
Thanks for the video!
MK
George Lynch is the Tone Master!!!
Seen him at Hartleys House of rock in High Point, Yngnie didn't show up! He blew the fire alarms off the Damn walls! ROCK ON GEORGE👊🏻

Everytime he throws that strap over, his eyes close and One beast emerges.
Can watch him play forever🤘
If anyone really had to ask...the master still has it!!!
Now, I am glad this guy plays to his own calling. I have really grown tired of guitarists sweep picking these days. Love the phrigian layers of scales to this little jam.
Lynch tone, timing, intuition and feeling are second to none!!
+AltoVolta73 you can hear unlike serg gl is it right now
+Fred Frederickson some people have too much dirt in their ears!
Lynch never had tone....please!!
@@clayearth8287 Hope you're kidding. Every single Dokken record he played in had great tone.
@@clayearth8287 Lol no tone I'm so sorry when did you lose your hearing😂😂

Lynch is the man.
Grandmaster Sir George, absolute master! Any chance that he will team up with ZZ Top, just for a live recording album?
This is fucking awesome
By the way, Mr. Scary was at 💯% that night for George all night. It was the only one that stayed in tune all night long! Peace ✌🏻️😉✌🏻
MONSTER....
I am curious how he is using those 3 amps? Like which is the main source? Is it for a wet/dry/wet mix?

That tiger stripes ESP guitar is around 33 years old.

And now he's father in-law to Priest's Guitarist Richie Faulkner.
