How to Set up Microsoft Authenticator App

In this video I will show you how to set up the Microsoft Authenticator. You will be prompted to set it up when you login to your account. Select the next button 3 times until you see the QR code. Once you see the QR code, you will need to download the Microsoft Authenticator App. On your phone, open the app store, and download the Microsoft Authenticator app. Once it is installed, Open the application. Then, select Add Account and then Work or School Account. Select allow if prompted to take pictures or record video. Use your phone to scan the QR Code. Once scanned, on your computer, select Next. You will be prompted on your phone to Approve the Sign in. Select Approve. Now, when you go to login to your Microsoft Account in the future, it will prompt you for the Authenticator password. You will type in the password in the app, that changes every 20 seconds. The next part of this video is optional, but could make it easier. If you would like to add the to authenticator code to your computer browser like the example in the video, keep watching and I will show you how to add it. Start by typing into your browser mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info. I put the link to this in the description of the video. Once you are here, select Add Sign In method. Then, select Authenticator App and hit Add. Then select I want to use a different Authenticator app. Then, select Next. Open your Authenticator in the browser in the top right corner, then select the scan icon, and scan the QR Code. After it is selected, hit Next. Open the authenticator and select the latest code it has generated. Once the code is entered, select Next. Now, when you need to login to your Microsoft Account, you can get the code from the Authenticator App in your Browser.

This doesnt work on a land phone,, thus people remain locked out of certain websites. After a couple of years one can only say to heck with it and quit.
