- Dave Lombardo is one of a kind! This took about 2 hours of practice and a gallon of sweat. There were a few mistakes that stuck out to me, but here you go regardless. Enjoy!

Great job! SOH is such a great album. I've often said, if the guitars, bass and vocals were stripped away, I could still jam on just listening to Dave's drum tracks.

How was Lombardo so good? It's not just that he was technically skilled, but he also knew exactly what was the appropriate thing to play to compliment the song.
He's kinda like the Bonham of metal. Very human.

Favourite Slayer album! I like how they focused more on groove than speed on South Of Heaven. Reign In Blood is good but I think this record dwarfs it!

Dude, the fills on this album are killer! And Lombardo was busting this shit out in 1988! Way ahead of his time. Although I love Reign in Blood, I've always thought the drumming on this album was far more dynamic and technical. Much more groove orientated. R.I.B had the raw speed/aggression. South, yet slowed down a bit, had the blistering technique and tempo changes and is maybe the most impressive drum work out of any Slayer album. Seasons is up there too.
