- Join me for a few beautiful, tranquil moments, beside the river Frome, near Dorchester.
This is a superb place to relax, watching the fish, mayflies, water fowl and damselflies, or just enjoy the gentle ripple of the water and weeds.
Slow TV isn't for everyone - nothing is scripted here - no narration or music - nothing much happens, except by natural chance, and that's OK - there are no sudden loud noises in this video, mostly you will just hear the sounds of water, birds and occasional other natural sounds. You may also sometimes hear (and perhaps see) the faraway background of human activity, but don't think on that for now - just enjoy this peaceful moment by the river... - Jak na to + styl
To capture a fish catching an insect in real time, in mid air and completely at random, has to be one of nature photography's absolute diamonds.
Watching nature reminds me to relax. It’s surprisingly easy to forget to relax
My shoulders un bunged. Whew, it's been a bit since that happened. You are right. Relaxing is difficult
@@ShellyS2060 I felt my shoulders relax too! I didn’t even know I was holding so much tension there until I relaxed.
@@hgrace0 whew! Let's remember what this feels like 👍
11:39-12:33 big thanks to the sleepy riverhorse-dragon-dinosaur for guiding me in a breathing exercise!
Just around 2:30 you see an insect and i was wondering if the fish would catch it and it did. Beautiful. Thanks for the video.
love the birdsong and the water sounds
Was pretty stressed out, but I forced myself to just sit down and watch the whole video. Feel a lot better now, thanks! Loved the ducks
Even Eva was quiet. Very peaceful.
Love these videos!! Ty so much!! Been mostly blind and house bound for 20 yrs, it's nice to feel immersed in nature again, ty ,ty ,ty!!!
This is my first time tuning into one of your Slow TV segments. I have been watching you for almost a year now and I don’t know why I am just now tuning into these. I have ADHD and I get extremely overstimulated by loud noises/multiple noises all at once so this was such a blissful experience for me. For just a couple of minutes I could feel my brain begin to unscramble and pacify itself. It’s definitely a struggle to keep paying attention though, I can feel that my brain keeps looking for something else to satisfy that need for dopamine. So that’s why I started to write this comment, lol. I have been so busy today, this gave me just a couple of minutes of peace and quiet to myself. Having ADHD means that life quite often feels like never ending noise and never ending dissatisfaction. Always looking for something to satisfy my brains urges. Getting lost in webpages and searching up random things I get fixated on and loosing time. Thank you for the mental reset, even if only momentarily.
Didn’t want to chill for quarter of an hour when I got up this morning and I got the notification but I have to say thanks for these. 16 hours later and it’s exactly what I needed to switch off for a minute or two. How fragile life is, how fast the current state of the universe changes around us, the fleeting nature of friendship and love.
Keep up the good work and, as always, stay safe.
Nothing is more beautiful than nature.
Lovely and calming. Nature sounds are just one of the best things in this world.
Thank you so much for this..... I was feeling very miserable due to arthritis pain, but this was wonderfully relaxing and so beautiful. God bless you❤
So nice to see a healthy river. Beautiful - thanks Mike.
this brings something very special to someone without sight
Truly lovely. There is no place I can get to, where I am away from the endless sounds of traffic. Even Parks with Lakes have busy highways cutting through - the visuals are nice, but the traffic noise is unceasing.
After a remodel of my garage. For the last 4 days alone. This and a home made beer 🍺 relaxed me to the point I had to come back after falling asleep to post this message.
Just the sounds of birds and flowing water - perfect. For a year we lived on a few hectares next to a conservation park where the daily sounds were just birds and the wind in the trees. Even though I was working, we still think of that time as a 12 month holiday 🐦⬛🦉
Beautiful! It's so sad that these days such peace and quiet is so rare to find. Even going far away from cities often does not help. You need to go really far and/or very early and be very lucky to enjoy this (at least in my area). And then when nice place is finally found - suddenly there is sound of woodcutting, heavy machinery or construction work. It hurts, both the ears and the soul
Tuned in to this just before bed last night - perfect 👌.
Ahhh...an hour on my bike and then that's exactly how I will spent my day.
Have a great weekend everyone 🌻🐦🤸🌞
I will have to watch it again, I fell asleep half way.
Utterly, utterly wonderful. Thank you Mike. 😻🙏❤️
I'm watching this as I have my breakfast, but now I just want to see the real deal. You've inspired me to go for a walk down the Nadder after work today
What a pleasant afternoon by the river 😊
Who needs television when all this is around us. Thank you for posting and sharing. I am reminded of a few words from a poem ' What of this life if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare (and listen)
How lovely, this reminds me of swimming in local Rivers as a child after long bike rides ❤
It's relatively quiet in the garden with the storm brewing in the south, but I could hear a couple of birds responding to the calls your birds were making. It was both a little surreal and lovely :)
Perfect natural reality, thank you very much. I sometimes forget how beautiful the earth is. ❤❤❤❤❤❤👍
How peaceful was that.
I too am lucky as I live in Dawlish so I too have our stream that runs down to the Sea.
Love all the birds calls as well
Sleep video for bedtime, thank you 😊
I put this on as I drifted to sleep. I woke up in utter panic, realizing there was something in my room. I screamed as the whooshing sound grew louder and jumped out of my bed. As I ran out of the room, I accidentally kicked some furniture full force with one of my feet, badly stubbing several toes. I woke up my roommate and in a daze and told them there was something in the house. We went back to my room. They stared at my phone, looked back at me, and I realized what had happened.
10/10 video, would wake up in a cold sweat again.
Just what I needed. Thank you!
This was a rare treat that I wouldn't mind being well done.
I moved to a BIG city away from a TEENSY TINY town 2 years ago and I forgot how nice it is to be able to leave the house and have a pond a stones throw away, or a 2 minutes walk away to go sit down by and listen to nature be.
Now I have to get used to the nature I share a wall with and their incessant need to play fighting games at full volume :C
Awesome! This is just what I needed, and just when I needed it. Thank you, Mr. Shrimp. I always enjoy your shows.
This is lovely. I went for a walk by the river last week and was surprised at just how peaceful it was. Usually, that area is full of students messing about on the river, but none was around and it was just so serenely peaceful with just me and another picnicker and a couple of ducks. :)
i like to bring one of those air rifles you get at carnivals with me on walks precisely for the teen problem
@@karara5532 With how crooked the sights are on those things if you aimed it at the kids you'd end up killing a duck.
@@karara5532 No need to resort to measures that will see you doing serious time! At best, you'd meet with return fire the next time you go there.
There are high frequency sounds, (between 13,000 Hz and 20,000 Hz) inaudible to adults but unbearable to the youths, that you can download and play through your phone or bluetooth speaker. They're more efficient at repelling pests and no risk involved. I've used them to great effect on public transport and in pubs when I want some peace.
Use them ethically though and don't employ them near babies and other innocent children.
I often cross the Frome at Wrackleford, last time it was over one meter deep, Nice and peaceful when you filmed this, very enjoyable. Thank you.
Thank you for inviting us on yet another lovely walk, Mr Shrimp. I partcularly enjoyed the unadulterated sounds of nature. (That's not to say i dont like hearing you talk. It's just that in this case, commentary was superfluous).
Thank you for sharing, this video reminds me that i need to get out by the river i could defiantly need this time to relax as I haven't felt myself lately. Hope you and everyone reading is doing well :)
Thank you. I came home somewhat upset and decided to watch something to clear my head a bit. This video was in my subscriptions and gave me 17mins of calm.
Slow TV just what I needed today thank you Mr shrimp
Thanks for this. Going to DL it for my long months working in the New Mexico desert, remind me of my Hampshire home.
I love this channel.
What a wonderfully relaxing video. The sounds of are so clear. Thank you ❤
so beautiful, I've always found the outdoors so peaceful and relaxing.
02:44 the Wood Pigeon call is one of my favourite sounds on a weekend ly inn.
We have a forest 3 feet from our back path and the W.P's. cooing wakes us up every morning. Cool.
Greetings from the US. Just did a 10 mile Kayak trip in Ohio. Great day. That river looks nice.
So peaceful.
absolutely wonderful. I would have also enjoyed watching just one angle for an even longer period of time (45mins / 1 hr) but I will definitely watching and rewatching this video. thank you so much, atomic shrimp!
Nice and relaxing, while I soak my tired feet......
What a lovely moment of calm
I have stand at the site of a river near the Old Mill in Tavistock, Devon. Just a hour, relaxing. It's such a relaxing thing to do and watch. If you want to relax and empty your mind, then this is a good thing to do
Very relaxing to watch 👌🏻
A bit like the fire place one if you have trouble sleeping 😊
Extremely relaxing. Fascinating to hear so many birds I don't know. I'm only familiar with some of the bird sounds in Minnesota.
Well that’s 17 minutes I’m never getting back! Thanks for putting me to 💤 😂
Yeah, it's awesome. I enjoy the down time.
12:10 the river weed kind of resembles a nodding cat 😻
😺
Very nice. I live in the US in Wisconsin. I was surprised to hear only one bird we have in common, The House Sparrow.
Very peaceful . Thanks . 😊
Lovely, need more of this in my life. Thankyou.
Very nice. Not slow at all, just my speed.
Tranquility in a mad world 👌
This is so lovely! I have saved this to play when I am unable to sleep as I think this will really help me relax. Thank you, from Poole! :)
Just perfect❤❤❤
Beau-ti-ful! It warms the cockles of my heart. Thank you so much! 😊
Thank you!
Quality content I always knew I wanted. Thank you!
Beautiful. Wish I lived near something like this.
Watched it at X2. Doubly relaxing. 👍👍
Thank you ❤
Nice video, liked the fish in the river.
I just love this videos ❤ it's so nice to chill and just watch. My girlfriend and I Watched some of the others you made as well and we try to pain one of the things we see. Perfect activity on a sumday. Thank you
I just woke up but the peaceful vibes of this video are going to make me fall asleep again. Keep up the great work Shrimp!
Love your work, all the variety.
Thank you for this vid. I really enjoyed it. ❤
Sometimes just existing is all you need to get through the day 😌
Left Hampshire (i know, this is Dorset) for good in 2005. This makes me brutally home sick but also content.
What a beautiful place, so peaceful & thanks Atomic shrimp 🦐🤗
What an awesome, relaxing video!
I live right next to a big river, we used to play around there as kids all the time. Nowadays the river is really dirty and smelly because of various reasons. It's really sad to see it that way.
wonderfully calming vid mr.shrimp. Mayflies in abundance
River, it flows.
Nice relaxing interlude.
Nice! I’ll add this to my TTRPG sounds playlist
lovely
i love it💖
Here we are
Stuck by this river,
You and I,
Underneath a sky that's ever falling down, down, down,
Ever falling down
Through the day,
As if on an ocean,
Waiting here,
Always failing to remember why we came, came, came,
I wonder why we came
You talk to me,
As if from a distance,
And I reply,
With impressions chosen from another time, time, time,
From another time
Legend
Lovely 🙂
Nice!❤
Good Job, we have a Dorchester here in Canada, which is just east of London, Ontario, close to the river Thames. Momentary confusion set in when I looked it up on the map which took sent me to that village. We have lots of cities and towns named after places in the UK, mainly because folks from there named the towns here a long time ago when they settled here.
There's some crazy bird action in this video. Would love to see if someone can identify all the birds heard here.
Duck zoomies!😊
Hope im not the only one watching for Fish or specifically Crayfish. The river looks clean so clear. i would love to find a spot near me with crayfish (rubs stomach) 😁
Nice video 🙌😊👍👌🍀💞
You have the most varied content I've ever seen
Very nice. The focus seems a bit soft in most of the shots, but I guess this is out of reluctance to risk the better camera on such environmental work - and this is effectively a nitpick, since the video works well enough as is. Many thanks for these casual insights.
Interesting choice. Lovely 17 minutes. I missed your voice though. I enjoy listening to you. I look forward to your next video.
So many trout! Good to know Britain has one healthy river left. I presume fishing is not allowed on this stretch?
Serenity
Your channel is a giant advertisement for living in the UK, lol
I've been spending a lot of time in my nearest local nature reserve.
