VALKYRIE AMR PRO NO-RULES UNLEASHED! My First Experience in the Ultimate Track Hypercar

- This is the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro! Join me for the ride of my life in the ultimate track hypercar, with Andy Priaulx at the wheel during Hypercar Invitational at Laguna Seca. My complete sense of speed has been totally re-written, there's simply nothing else like it!
The Valkyrie AMR Pro is Aston Martin's complete no-rules hypercar; taking the already extreme Valkyrie and making it even more extreme. With only 40 customer cars (plus 2 prototypes), it weighs only around 1,000kg with approximately 1,000hp from the Cosworth 6.5l NA V12, and can match lap times akin to those of Le Mans prototypes, or in the back of the pack on a Formula 1 grid. The level of downforce would allow it to drive upside down, the engineering by Aston Martin and RBAT (Red Bull Advance Technologies) is unlike anything that's ever be seen, and it is quite literally the fastest track experience you can buy to drive.
Having been lucky enough to ride in the road Valkyrie at Millbrook with Darren Turner, this time around we're at Laguna Seca for Hypercar Invitational and I'm hoping on board the track car with Andy Priaulx. And what an experience it is, there are very few words for this crazy ride, it's out of this world, quite literally.

This was not even close to flat out and you could still see how extreme it is. Just imagining this on a full send it's gonna be violent. I wish Mercedes and Amg also made a no rule track only AMG one.

Someone said they recorded a 1:19 lap time with a passenger with only a quick warmup lap on mostly cold tires. Like lmp1 speeds this thing

When a guy like Schmee, who's driven just about everything fast there is out there, tells you : "I've never experienced anything like this", you better believe that this is an insanely FAST car! Great video!
I love the go pro shaking. Unironically. It gives you a sense of how ridiculous the acceleration and braking is, and how brutal the shifts are. Also holy shit if any car has ever looked and sounded angelic it's this. Valkyrie suits it perfectly.
na it is more because of sound vibrations have same synth as camera glass... with usually means Louds as hell Tho the moves up and down. is legit force.
He uses Sony cameras. Wonder whether go-pro would have done better.

DPi's were doing 155 over the crest at IMSA in April, and this was doing 160 with 200 horsepower to go... The only thing I've seen faster over the crest was the V10 McLaren formula one car at 175. Unbelievable.

I know it pales in comparison, but i recently had the opportunity to go for a ride in a Nissan GT-R. After trying out the launch control and going around a few corners at speed I definitely had a newfound respect for what speed really is. I couldn't help but think "if that was a GT-R, what the hell are F1 drivers doing?!?!" I cant even imagine the feeling of being in a car like this. Just wow.
There really is a MASSIVE difference between race cars and road cars. If you want to have your mind blown its as simple as getting yourself on a proper race kart

Nobody documents a car like Tim does. There's other great car journalists for sure but Tim always manages to bring any car he reviews/takes a look at to life. His passion translates brilliantly to the camera !

I have been very skeptical of the Valkyrie and AMG-One projects but I have to say the Valkyrie is far and away the more impressive car.

Neither have had any performance tests, so how do you know? People are too impressed by what looks "weird" and "new". I'll wait for them to go to the Nurburgring before choosing which is best

This is probably because the valkyrie amr pro costs more and the different hybrid system doesn’t make amg one and the valkyrie direct rivals

That's not really true. This thing is really fast, but F1 cars are in a completely different league.

F1 will do Laguna Seca in 1:05 so this is no where close.

The fact that a Mclaren Senna managed Laguna in 1:27 (under testing conditions) just makes the untested 1:19 even more impressive. Wild
I think the road valk has near double the power to weight ratio that the Senna GTR has! xD ... Like Tim said .. the AMR Pro can probably go *AT LEAST* 5 seconds faster flat out than that time. O.o

All I have for context is playing this track in GT7 and Forza. That was blistering fast compared to game. Again, that corkscrew must be physically rough to go through especially with that speed and g-force. I bet the track times were not around lunch time for that car, otherwise passengers would be throwing up their lunch. Your ride seems like a ride of a lifetime especially with this car and track. Congrats.

That was great. I was there for a bit on Saturday morning when both were out on track together & was imagining I was in the car. This video did a great job capturing it. Crazy fast on those tires & an F1 of yore sound. I was still thinking & talking about it with fellow drivers on Monday when I was on track day NCRC.

How far is that? Last "production" Valkyrie I heard broke down on the track and had 3 engineers with it. The Pro doesn't even have the same chassis as the production car
@@Shadowboost The pre production version broke down with a fault. Now there are cars in customers hands across Europe. I still expect issues which is about reasonable when it comes to extreme hypercars like this. This is using a binned Le Man's prototype monocoque not the roadcars It's not a massive departure tbh.
Can't wait to see them on the Nordschleife flat out. That will be the day.
@@Shmee150 I have to say though your passenger ride in the road car looked even more impressive, since that thing somehow has to be road legal. Still somehow it looked almost as insanely fast and as violent as this, even though the Pro is built for track only with no limitations at all.
The frequency of the revs impacted the cameras focus. That's awesome. Reminds me of shifter karting as a youth with shaky vision at speed.

Having literally just come back from Le Mans this weekend just gone, I'd LOVE to see the Valkyrie entered in the LMP1 class. There were a couple of Aston Martin in GTE class, but this would be a real treat. Hopefully they'll get something done for next years 100th Anniversary of Le Mans race.

That is just an absolute monster of a car! Its probably one of if not the most extreme car being produced currently from how it looks, sounds, performs and the power to weight ratio. Its a truely impressive machine that Aston Martin has been kind enough to make available for anyone with pockets deep enough to purchase one!
Great piece of engineering and looks really pretty too. Just remember F1 during the peak performance of 2020 were pulling north of 6Gs in certain corners
Lewis’ pole lap in Mugello is quite possibly the best description of engineering and human together as one entity at its epitome. You could feel those Gs in the second sector my goodness!

Looks absolutely aggressive, yet kinda simple(in terms of visuals). Probably one of the best looking Aston race cars ever. You should buy a new Aston Martin for your home. There's a dealership in my town of Chicago with a showroom as well, I think an Aston could be a great car to own, whether it's a Victor, a Vantage GT12, or a DB11. I'm excited for the goodwood fos this summer btw. wonder what cars with be there...

This is beauty and perfection at its best. I play Grand Turismo and can say Laguna is one of the best tracks. I can only imagine the power of actually being in that car on that track...kudos gentlemen

Tim could probably just make an entire video talking about his experience in this beast. You can just tell that after getting out and talking about the car a little bit, it feels like he still has a lot more to say. xD
Also, am I the only one who thinks the way the Valkyrie sounds rivals that of the symphony that is the Lexus LFA's V10? The V12 that the Valkyrie has sounds utterly bonkers, while also sounding like an orchestra of engineering like no other.
