Love these cars, get it back on the road soon
Nice project. Cool to see that engine new
I need to finish A project for once lol. I keep getting more.
I have the same car and color scheme. Just starting to work on it. I hope to learn a lot from your videos.
I have one the same color scheme too👍
Beautiful car! Only 4,490 verts made for 1995. Of those, only 342 in White, White top, and White interior. Make sure to transfer over the generator's cooling duct system from your original motor to the new one. I own 2 LQ1 cars and know these very well. Yes, that motor does look like a new one! Very nice! Also, NEVER throw out those original plug wires with the white numbered firing order on them. They are unobtainable now...have been for years. Very glad you ripped out that aftermarket radio, this car deserves an original one put back in.
I wonder if your neutral safety switch went bad concerning why it wouldn't come out of gear?
Super spicy unit! That car is probably going to last forever when put back together. I didn't know GM made a DOHC V6 during that time period.
It's a great engine when maintained, this engine was to replace the LG6 which is the turbo 3.1 from the ASC Mclaren GP.
@@WBodyTech LG5. Also used in the very rare one year only 1990 STE Turbo sedans.
Nice car ! I have a black 95 vert with the lq1 also. I changed the timing belt and components not to long ago. I recently just changed the upper and lower intake manifold and valve cover gaskets and I snapped 1 of the bolts on the intake plenum and another bolt just keeps spinning freely so I'm assuming I damaged the threads on the intake. My torque wrench wasn't working properly. I'm going to try and remove the broken bolt and retread the damaged hole in hopes to complete the job. FML
These are nice cars, I learned my lesson with a torque wrench years ago with intake bolts, now its just a ratchet and yup that feels about right lol.
@@WBodyTech An inch lb or newton meter torque wrench is a requirement when working on these LQ1's.
Biggest issue owning a car of this age is you can't find any oem parts anywhere. I had to install cheap aftermarket injectors while changing those gaskets I mentioned above.
I stock pile parts so i have plenty of spares. These engines were very common from 1991-1996 so parts are out there.
@@WBodyTech Don't forget about the 1997 LQ1.
What did it come in? just the cutlass? @@jiggity76
@@WBodyTech For 97, no Cutlasses got the LQ1, only the Lumina Z34 and possibly the Lumina LS sedan as an option.
Has non disturbing engine has belt and chain
