- Which electric scooter is best under $1,000? I compare the Segway Ninebot Max vs VSETT 8 vs ZERO 9, all three have unique pros and cons - let's see how they differ with battery range, max speed, off-roading suspension, and more. Huge thanks to RevRides for sending the sample units.

Which one do you like best?
Zero is my first choice. The range is sufficient.
I reject all three until I can get a 14-20 inch front wheel like the Ecosmart Metro HD.
Zero 9. Just get it from the netstore. This is just so great/fun to ride!! 🤘👍
Show us hack, for g30 pls
i wish u had one to spear im in nyc living in these sheltors they just put us back in i really would really love u bro if u had a extra 1 for a heavy guy 1 love bro keep up the good work
you can change the vsetts acceleration in the p settings its default is 3 but in can go to 5
I've been seeing a lot of electric kickstart-type scooters in Toronto. Ninebot-brand scooters are a fairly common sight here now and I've always wondered how good they were. Now I know why so many people choose the Ninebot scooter. Thanks for the review man!
Do most people you see riding them ride in the Bike lanes?
@@transportationland6395 Yes, they do ride them in the bicycle lanes. In fact, where I work on the weekends, the Harbourfront Centre, the bike lanes are frequented a lot by people on electric kickstart scooters.
@@The-Opium-Den That's awsome. Better too see more people riding Scooters than in cars, hopefully more people ride e scooters and the traffic wont be so bad. I plan on ninebot getting one for getting to and from school, as the 29 bus aka the "sufferin dufferin" is always so crowded + traffic is unbearable during rush hour.
Btw, the vsett has a bunch of settings that can make the acceleration faster or slower, u can make electric brakes more powerful and bump up the speed in settings
so as ninebot
How do you make it on the vsett
@@dleeklick hold down the plus and minus symboles for a few seconds, then use the dot to make your way through the setting, and the plus and minus again to change the settings
I do deliveries with the max. 1700 km of hard riding including in rain and have only had to maintain tire pressure. It’s solid and stable, you have to get used to the lack of suspension though (I keep tire pressure on the low end).
Same lol
Same.
The tires are nice and squishy. When I first got it I thought the tires where flat. But they are just shock absorbing tires. So they have alot of give compared to other tires I tried.
How.many miles do you get
I’m not sure how they made a scooter worse then the predecessor. My E45 has suspension
I think all escooters should have turn indicators because you can't strech your hand lik ein cycles, you will fall, and it can't cost that much more, right?
It's just some lights.
I purposely bought a scooter with turn signals and I end up never using them.
VSETT is the new generation of Zero scooters. Its the same company and the VSETT scooters are better than their Zero predecessors in almost every way. It makes no sense to compare the two like this; you will basically always want the VSETT over the Zero (I own a Zero 10, Zero 10x, and Zero 11x).
Not really, vsett dont make a single scooter under 21kg. The zero scooters go down to 15/16kg. Vsett 8 is worse than the zero 9 in torque and top speed and heavier
Can't believe you haven't reviewed Revel's skateboard bolt-on kit yet, would love to see your take!
You are so underrated and I love your videos
Thanks so much for watching
Damn you need to do a review for the Vsett 9+ aswell.
Did you check/adjust P12 settings on the vsett? It comes set to 3 from the factory and 5 is better.
I think the VSett struggles off road because of the solid rear tyre. It will either dig in or bounce around, either way it can't put power down but on flat surfaces.
I saw your studio tour video a week ago and man is that thing CLEAN 👌 Just like the reviews 🤘
I appreciate it!
I have the vsett 8 with the bigger battery I agree torque is bad but it does get up to speed and with the suspension you never worried about bad roads it looks good you get compliments and feels sporty for tight and twisty roads.
Great points!
What the people mean about low torque ??
@@gabrielconti6504 it does have a rapid rate of putting the power down you have a gradual rate of acceleration. But with that said you can change that in the P settings I have mine at full power now and it’s a bit of a beast now
suspension suck power. It is always the same: like in bikes: more suspension it means it will be slower but more control and comfort
I have the vsset 8+ and dual motor wheels make it go so much faster off road and up hills
I would appreciate it if you did another video like this
Good video, I am a little confused by your choice to not take advantage of safety gear. But your a grown man I respect your choice.
This idea or riding a scooter is debatable at my advanced age, but I like the Zero 9 of the three. Ideally, you would test their performance over certain obstacles. I imagine most spills occur from hitting potholes or loose gravel on curves.
I might like a seat option but none have this. Thanks for the reviews.
Ninebot max has a seat made by Segway.
You’re never too old to learn new things. Most scooters have a seat option and even if you purchased a model that does, say, 25mph or 30mph, you don’t have to ride at top speed. You can set them to gear 1 which on most models is between 9 and 11mph.
I got the Vsett8R four months ago and its really nice ( got the R for added range for an extra $200) = great scooter -only prob is it loses its power on hills because it has only 1 emgine -unless your a beginner or your just really mellow id say start with the Vsett9
How is it ? Now
Get into a bind and this thing is a life saver
Loved the video Ben!👍😊
Thanks! 😀
If you guys are looking for great speed for only 950 you can also get a kukiri g4 which goes up to 40 ish mph
You really do some gr8 vids!!
I appreciate that!
I started with the Ninebot, moved onto a Mearth RS, then an Emove Cruiser and now I just bought the R version of the VSET 8 and I gotta say...VSET 8 wins hands down. It's the perfect commuter for me, with a 21AH battery, the 600 Watt motor, great suspension, and it's super low maintenance. I definitely could have stuck with any of the others but for me, it's the best balance between just stepping into being a hardcore scooter, but since I use it for leisure rides and getting to work, it's just lasting for ages
What is the range on it truthfully
@@Ryan-ew7nn 10 miles max if you like fun
In my country ninebot max cost 650$ And vsett8 about 750$
mi scooter pro 2 $550 best power best price
lol mi pro 2 is garbage, weak motor and weak speed
@@corsinivideos YOU probably just got the cheapest hiboy of the store lol
@@jvkb3365 lol stop clowing bro I drive an emove cruiser
@@corsinivideos for real i had the Xiaomi pro 2 ans its trash after 2 months i upgrdaded to a vsset 8 best choice of my life
Are any of these water proof?
I have the vsett 9+ pro limited with the biggest battery in red its so much better that the blue color
Always love youre vids
Thanks Kobe
I still love the SUV of all Scooters….. NIU kqi 3 MAX
Did he really just say that a $950 scooter is entry level? That’s a lot of money
That's because you're a peasant.
Just kidding. Seriously. A grand is a lot of money. They make decent scooters for a few hundred bucks. Those seem like good entry level scooters.
I, for some crazy reason, really want to get an e scooter but I agree the price tag is the biggest turnoff. However, after doing quite a bit of research spending less than $5-600 you’re basically getting a kids toy and there are some insane e scooters that are really cool in the $2-3,000 range. So I can understand why anything under $1000 is considered entry level
njoy your videos. Since you review scooters, can you tell me if there are any scooters out there that have all of the following qualities: lightweight, foldable, cruise control, detachable battery, wider deck, built-in safety lock?
Agree. I can't do these heavy scooters. Anything over 30 lbs is a no go for me. Misssing out on a demographic, but I'll keep searching youtube until I find reviews on them.
Why’s gotrax ultra gmax not there
I've always wondered are those "speed hack" apps legit?
They are all over $1000ca :(
Sad 😔
pls bro can u help me what should i do
i bought a e scooter like 1 month ago
but i dont like it the lcd glitches and its front wheel drive and it heavy and i have loses the front fender cuz i falled
how can i return in back cuz my parents bought it to me and i dont wanna say i losed the front fender and i dont want it
pls say a good ninbot under 500 bucks
These are waterproof?
A scooter that has the range of ninebot max and the weight of Xiaomi m365 pro or pro 2 would be the best scooter ever. If such a scooter cones out I wouldn't think a single second to buy one.
Any suggestions on a E scooter for someone 6t ft 7, 210 lbs? It's hard looking for something that would be tall enough for me. Budget is under $2,000. Any advice would be much appreciated since you've looked at many E scooters :)
Custom build would be your best bet. When something is made in China they don't think anybody but Yao Ming is tall lol.
Can you review the ninebot e25e?
I have a ninebot with the max mod 48v battery add on and literally mad it into a different e scooter. Worth the $200
0:54 the MAX G30 is not really entry level price. I just think it's the best scooter you can get because I really hate the designs of all the others. It's sad that brands don't make some scooter with G30 design, hidden suspension and 1000W motor.
You can't blend in with every other scooter. M365 and ninebot stuff really blend in nicely.
Edit: 2nd paragraph.
The max does not have "hidden suspension". Any shock absorption the max relies on goes directly to its pneumatic tires, which do not replace let alone beat a quality suspension system. Most new high end scooters come with the swing-arm system that the vsett 8 has, because its the best basic suspension design to date. the vsett series is the successor to the zero, so if you want to compare the zero 9 to its equivalent, the vsett 9 would have been more appropriate. As it is the zero 9 has an outdated suspension design that bottoms out at most obstacles that have more depth than a large pebble, the ninebot by my experience is almost the same as riding a traditional kickscooter in terms of comfort and being able to deal with obstacles. Since it is the 9 of the zero series, it will be faster than a vsett 8, but the zero 9 pales in comparison to its actual equivalent of the vsett 9/9+
Does the speed hack work
I would choose the zero 9! Good bang for the buck absolutely 💯 , but I will stick with my Segway GT2 ! Great video and info 👍
I’ve been looking into getting one I want one that goes fast and goes far
gotta spend more than 1k for that.
Try the emove cruiser it goes 60 miles, also try dualtron their company makes only far range scooters🔥
I want to upgrade with something with suspension want range not speed have a hiboy sr2 was thinking inmotion l9 or do you think of ones you rode
I have a VICANTEC 1000 watt dual wheel scooter and lost the front power
So im basically 1 motoring it….it like the Wolf warrior off road Would a newer single motor 1000 watt scooter be enough to ride via fields on flat terrain? Chin high grass? Thanks for input Looks for best off road scooter under $1000
Way cheaper to replace the damaged motor. If it’s the motor itself. Might just be a bad connection somewhere. The motor technology is pretty simple. Like an overpowered fan. Stator and copper windings.
This looks so fun.
Can anything be done to vsette 8 to make faster/longer range?? Either by firmware or some scooters allow you to plug in an external battery and use both at the same time for added speed/range.. Love your vids btw!! Thanks bro!
Why is the soil super red???
I hew try Zero 9 and Vsett 8 and suspension for city is much comfortable on Vsett 8 so i both it and i had make in 4month 500km and its is good scooter no problem all araund good scooter.
What's the best uphill commuter.
I have a mile up and down a very steep hill every day. Followed by about 2 back and forth city miles.
Same
I will say the vsset 8 with dual motor or the vsset 8
Anything with dual motors front and back with a wattage of 500w
Awesome scooters! 👌
They are fun!
@@AuthenTech I bet! I might try later as I do mostly ebikes
Guess 8+ should be a better option now
Good video 😎
What about inmotion S1
Can any of them ride off road
I need help with a Scooter to help me move around campus, I have Avascular necrosis on my left hip 😭🙏🏾🙏🏾
I am betting on zer0 for the winner.
That is a cool bike I give it a rating of 100%
If you don’t care about range and you want speed get the kaboo mantis 8.
I had the Segway ninebot tho and the support of the stand broke
I'm 240 lbs and I'm hesitant to get a scooter at 275 max. Not sure if it would be ok
The load bearing settings are typically 10% higher than what is published. Manufacturers tend to show a lower number for safety reasons. So, if it says 265lbs max it is most likely closer to 270lbs.
THE RANGE DONT MATER IF YOU CAN CHARGE IT TWICE COMPARED TO ANOTHER
Yes
Ninebot... That full length solid steering stem does it for me. None of this collapsible bullshit. I still get 60km's range out of mine after 2000km's. It is a solid machine. I am looking at going for aftermarket suspension but other than that it's perfect
How did you get 60km range? Do you go in eco mode all the time?
@@wskwong2000 No, I smash it in sports mode most of the time. But I did a long run in Eco just to prove it can still do 60km's
Nanrobot lightning and D6+ have a collapsible front fork with just one screw. Stem seems pretty solid but I’m guessing not as solid as yours.
Good for the money
Ive got a aovo m365 pro for £300 and its really good
Pls Speedhack for the ninebot
Hi love your videos they're very informative. Can you tell me if there is a scooter that goes about 40 miles per hour that comes with the seat and is good built quality? The 60mph ones are a liile to much. Preferably one that can do a little off roading with nobby tires
Not that I know of
Nanrobot D4+, D6+. 40mph. Has a seat option. Price is good right now. $1400 down from last years high of $1700
Joyor F7 $669.
Segway Ninebot Max I don't like the charger being built in. That is like the most common thing over $20 to fail.
Is there any way to remove it? That’s the first scooter I’ve heard of with that design. You’re probably right. That will break and it will be a royal pain to fix it.
Yellow one has best range
Cyberbot Mini!
Hi 👋 ..When you doing a review for the zero 11x ?
Hopefully one coming soon
How about the hiboy titan 999.00
In Singapore its ban recently 😄
That why i hate went youtuber don't say the all true about scooter first ninebox max says 40 Miles went only running 20 miles (i have one) second the anothers scooter have a motor of 500w and ninebot have a motro of 650 waths You'll never get anywhere close to 40 miles on one battery, not even close to being close. I got 21 miles on mostly flat in the middle mode. What is more frustrating is that the claimed max speed is only true while the battery is over 80% charged. Then it slows down substantially so that at around 30% you're doing about 13 mph in sport mode. Don't believe it when Segway tells you it is normal and due to "voltage sage". That is another lie. I have another Segway scooter and it gets max speed until about 25% battery. I'm so sick of companies being able to lie and get away with it.
$1,000 for 21mph scooter. I'll pass.
Rewatch video, I hit 28 ;)
And even in the p settings you can make it even faster like launch control and like no kickstart etc
looking to get my 1st scooter.....which scooter have the best deck size....ive got big feet lol
terms of deck size between the 3 in this video, the 8 will probably have the smallest, while the max and zero 9 are around the same.
After riding a bunch of scooters, good ones, meh ones, i always come back to the quality rude my Ninebot e45 gives me. That scooter, if they would invent the type of re-gen braking a Tesla uses, and pair it with twin 1000 watt motors that would be the best ever!
I’m on my third scooter now and with these scooters you definitely get what you pay for.
Range is my biggest factor, emove cruiser/futecher/speedway 4 .. 30.5ah (about 80-100km) .. but I still put an external 20.8ah battery on it, lol i think about 150km real range or smh like that.
stem woble is real with the emove. Not a very well put together scooter.
@@whoanelly- It's a dated scooter body plan, fitted with a big high-quality battery. Most of your money for an emove cruiser is going towards the battery and motor.
I’m on my third scooter now and I’ve learned that whatever the advertised range is, is actually half in real world.
I need a scooter that's faster than the average dog anything over 30 miles an hour
Nanrobot D4+, D6+ 40mph. Descent range
Vesta how much
There is 1000 dollar under and top speed is 50
Why does the vsett looks like the splach scooters?
Same OEM, different brand. It's very common in the scooter world.
@@SickocrowAU ok, just wondering cuz I have a splach ranger. Thanks
"Average weight 150" lol
Yea for a mouse!
Idea...Have you seen the Kymco F9? It looks hot and is in between the small escooter and an emotorcycle. As you know emotorcycles have failed because of a lack of excitement. The F9 comes from a company that claims to be the "fastest growing and has a location in South Carolina". Also technology...it supposedly has a 2-speed automatic transmission. John 3:16
They’re failing from lack of excitement but more because of range anxiety. If you don’t have a place to plug it in outside, you need to be sure to have enough juice to get back home. And the advertised range is NEVER the actual range. Good rule of thumb is to cut the advertised range in half. That’s about what you’ll get in real world.
Very interesting but I wrote that a year ago, since that time many newer scooters now have larger wheels, more range, etc.
@@21degrees oh yeah. But the range issue remains the same. Whatever the advertised range is-cut in half for real world. Electric cars the same
Can we ship these as luggage on airlines?
I'm guessing not
Nope bcz there's a big battery it might be explode.
What was the p settings on the Vsett?
I made sure to configure p settings maxed out/best power/speeds possible
@@AuthenTech 👍
I’ll stick to my m365 pro 2
Evercross scooter is better tho it goes speed 28 and it’s now $899!

I'm not sure - maybe contact RevRides?
Where you from?
The 900, one way better

Suspension makes things go slower, just fyi. Why I have a hard tail in Vancouver but not a duo-suspension bike.
I gotta bump it up to $1400ish to get a minimum of 25mph….
was just thinking the same thing if im going to geta scooter for commuting to work and around town i need to go atleast 25 mph i agree 1300-1400 will get you something nice with good distance!
