The Pollux and Castor boss fight was very satisfying considering that before Castor violently killed a slave for no reason other than speaking out and during the fight Pollux deliberately and spitefully made Aletheia plummet to her death just so Kratos doesn’t reach her and then he has the nerve to say that he’s an innocent? yeah their deaths were well earned
I love how he stomps the tumor like a bug
The slave and his friends thank Kratos for killing his cruel master
That’s why Kratos curb stomps that little tumor
And that's the reason why I don't feel guilty robbing their corpses of The Amulet of Ouroboros

Agreed. Even though I prefer the boss list of GOW2 and GOW3 more, this one is usually overlooked
It is has the most epic boss battles with a striking music which is amazing.
Also had one of the hardest sections in the series! That Goddam elevator, feckin hated it.
@@hydroshock1853 The bosses in this game definitely don't lack in terms of granduer/spectacle. Like the boss battle that takes place on Hecatoncheires with his body getting infested by the Furies insects, warping his mouth and making giant monsters spawn out of himself to fight Kratos. Or that Final Battle with the three Furies, with Kratos battling them in a black void/maelstrom.

The first thing Kratos does for the Oracle: Lifts the massive stone away and immediately tries to heal her only to see it has no effect. Feels empathy and remorse and holds her hand till she dies

well in Valhalla Kratos did felt regret for killing the captain. Its true hoplite hates cowardice, and it is even stricter moral code for Spartan hoplite than Athens, but Kratos never thought that not all people can fight. After deep thinking Kratoa realized that the captain is just a normal man, and the kraken is just an animal, and that Kratos showed him what a real monster looks like.

I forgot how good looking this game is, it almost looks like a ps5 game.
It should’ve been remastered along with god of war 3. It would’ve been great seeing this game run at a clean 60fps and high resolution.

@@shawziiz5031For the first 2 GOW games they said they couldn't remaster it like GOW3 because it would take too much work dealing with older hardware but tbh they could've remastered/remade it with the GOW3 Engine seeing that GOW2 could've been on the PS3 but they chose the PS2.
@@TheShadowspear2 That just weird. I mean is not a remake. Remastered is more or less a simple port sometimes. They did it with two GOW on PSP and GOW1 and 2 on PS3, and then GOW3 on PS4. Capcom did a good job bringing all DMC from PS2 and PS3 to PS4. Heck they even port that DmC, you know the emo Dante that everyone hate to PS4 as well. Even Uncharted got all of it port to PS4, as well as having a full collection released on PS5 now

It's an interpretation following the series' "the gods suck" theme. When Castor died, Pollux asked the gods to share his immortality with his brother (as he was divine). The gods (probably Zeus) then conjoined their bodies as a sick, literal interpretation of the request. Too bad for them.

I must admit I had the same bias that a lot of people had about Ascension. The reason is people don’t generally like prequels. We saw the same thing with Star Wars. But God of War: Ascension is a masterpiece. The mechanics are great, the world is beautiful and the fighting is so intense that it demands you raise your level. The game does start to slow down a bit around the moving snakes but the overall pace of the game is excellent. The final boss fight isn’t as satisfying as Zeus but how could it be? If you put your bias aside and accept what the game is meant to be, you will have a truly wonderful experience playing Ascension.

@@robert4039 Personal opinion since I only played GoW2 a little and 4, and I think Ascension looks really really good, and the combat looks good too, but my opinion is that the rage meter being tied to not getting hit isn’t really a good idea. Dealing damage to add to rage meter is fine, but getting hit lowering rage meter sounds.. kinda wrong. You’d be angry because you’re getting hit, not getting calmer, in a logical sense. But for other games, rage meter doesn’t lower when you’re not hit. Promoting great play is perfectly reasonable, and maybe consecutive hits without taking damage increasing the gain of rage would be better, but the part where it drains because you’re hit doesn’t seem like a good design choice, especially for newer player who’re looking for fun before getting better.

One thing I wondered in Ascension is how Kratos was able to kill the Furies, especially wih breaking Tisiphone's neck bare-handed, WITHOUT "The Power to Kill a God". At least with Chains of Olympus the death of Persephone was with the use of Zeus's Gauntlet and the Sun-Shield. Perhaps Athena knew that those of divine blood, even a demigod, can kill their own.
Overall, the prequel is alright; with Multiplayer being an interesting experiment. It kind of explains the conundrum of why the Olympians couldn't simply "erase Kratos's nightmares".

This was a fine God of War game. I hope Santa Mónica to make a Prequel in the Greek Mythology with current gameplay. I miss the fearless brutal killing machine that Kratos used to be.
If they did that i think gameplay should be a mix of old and new.
It should be about Kratos years as a spartan,training growing up to be a spartan,meeting his wife and having Calliope,going to many wars,making his oath to Ares,fighting battles in his name and ending with leaving the player as being able to kill his family in the temple.He actually had many,many adventures even before the Ascension.
We should see Atreus of Sparta whom Atreus/Loki was named after,we should see him being told the stories he says to Atreus on the boat etc

Ascension was pretty good, not sure why it got such a bad rap. It was definitely the best looking PS3 game ever produced IMO.
The bad rap is because it was a prequel and the game is a bit too short due to multiplayer mode being added. But it was never regards as the worst game. It just became a least favourite in the series that all.
@@shawziiz5031 tell that to a lot of people who hate it just because it isn't GOW 3. looking past that nonsensical bias, it's a very good game. I thought the new mechanics successfully mixed things up and encouraged the player to try new things. something which I've never seen reviewers mention is that you can switch magic mid combo, that shit is amazing! once you've fully upgraded everything, it's game over for the goat people lmao.

Sorry to break it down to all of you but this is actually recorded through an emulator RPCS3. The graphical glitches in the video says it all and the high resolution. PS now supports at max 720p. So yeah this is played on pc not ps5.

He's not an animal, he's merely human. It was by GOW2 and 3 that he'd snap out of blind rage to show no empathy for everyone that manipulated him. At the same time, he's still rational enough not to attack those who mean him no harm or stay out of his way.

This game was the most hated one in the series. According to Santa Monica Studios own words, this game almost killed the franchise. So the chances of this game getting remastered is low.

Ascension turnt tf up in my opinion. I was curious how they would beat 3 by it being a prequel but shit, I like to think they did. The final boss in ascension was epic for it being on the ps3.
