It's funny looking back at this game now knowing that Gaia in Greek lore is not actually a Titan, but a Primordial Being who gave birth to the Titans and some gods.
Yeah, they took a good number of liberties with the myths to make the story work more dramatically.

She is a titan, the mother of titans! She didnt feared gods let alone kratos, a mortal which was a pawn all along
Knowing exactly what Kratos's capable of, what he's been doing and his kill count, she was a fool to betray and leave him for dead. No wonder, Kratos went inside her and literally broke her heart, lol.
In Zeus's own words, "Your pawn has failed you, Gaia. You should've chosen the other one!".
This is the reason both the Olympians and Titans were untrustworthy assholes that formed Kratos into a monster for the sinister purpose of carrying out their selfish agendas.
They all make a fatal decision of underestimating Kratos bro. Minus Athena.

@@Ghost-ql3hl Ikr? Gaia could've literally wait until they destroyed half of the Olympian forces before she decided to reveal her betrayal to Kratos. That would save her all the trouble of handling the extremely powerful Olympians on her own.
But no, she did the stupidest thing and decided to reveal it when they only just killed Poseidon. It obviously resulted in Kratos turning on Gaia and decided to get rid of both her and Zeus.
Gaia was honestly one of my favourite characters, but a shame she was classified as a Titan and not a Primordial like in the original source.

To this day I'll still say that in this game, for some reason, its in-game engine cinematics looked WAY better than the pre-rendered ones..
This is the PS5 version that's why. The game itself is gonna look better on a higher spec machine due to 4k upscaling, but since the pre rendered cutscenes are pre rendered, nothing is gonna change from the original.

Although, I think the same dialogue during the opening of GOW3 from 3:00 with Zeus's pep talk is even better and impactful while Mount Olympus is shown off. Cory Balrog, the director of the new God of War CONFIRMED multiple times that Kratos in the new God of War game is still A FULL GOD. He confirmed that Kratos is still immortal and has his godhood power. He is just constantly restraining himself from unleashing his full raging power because he doesn't want Atreus to be like him.

Gaia was so entitled it made her commit her last mistake of her life she was expecting KRATOS to forgive and forget and was genuinely shocked that he was trying to make her plummet to her death it’s like she’s has forgotten that she betrayed and insulted the dude who brutally killed Posidion with his bare hands right in front of her and the other titans and brutalizes and mangles whoever stands in his way including monsters who are almost about as big as her until they are crippled and at the brink of death and murders people just to spite them by calling him a pawn. she even had the audacity to blame him for what he has done to the world denying the fact she is the one who master minded the whole thing and convinced him to come back to life and take his revenge on Zeus.
I can see why kratos always full of anger. It seems Everyone always betray him. Which I didn’t realize when I first played the trilogy

If Kratos took and saved Gaia and the other Titans to the future during the Great War after which they even died in that future, then how come Gaia was guiding him through all God Of War 2?
She’s basically Mother Nature. Even if she herself “dies”, her spirit can live on through the world due to nature.
Or if you mean how is she helping him even tho she’s supposedly talking to him from the battlefield of the Great War: probably just a titan ability to speak to people through time or something
OR if you mean if she has seen what kratos does supposedly and possibly even seen him betray and kill her, why help him? She was probably planning on trying to kill kratos after being brought to the present to try and change her fate.

She speaks out of time. She was helping him from the past all the time. Thats why when he went back in time she said she was waiting for him even though he came from the present.
Literally. Made no sense for her to betray him, he killed Ares as well Poseidon. So instead of telling him to climb inside her or even hold onto the numerous tree’s she has sprouted around her back. She just lets him drop.
With him Poseidon will send them down to the sea

Kratos always killed them who ever help himself or came to his aid😂🤣
Gaia probably betrayed Kratos because she felt that the Titans were capable of winning the war themselves. She basically assisted Kratos against Poseidon and contributed to his defeat. And she possibly felt that the titans deserved the victory against Olympus more than Kratos did. In my opinion Gaia and the titans deserved revenge but Kratos did much for them and completely went out of his way to save them from banishment. Kratos could have simply set himself somewhere on Mount Olympus and take the Gods down one by one with the Blade of Olympus but chose to help Gaia because she resurrected him. Gaia’s betrayal was probably due to her being potentially blinded by rage. Cronos wronged his family, but Zeus betrayed her personally, just as Zeus betrayed Kratos. I guess that due to the supposed destruction of the Greece world and demise of its magic, she couldn’t foresee the outcome of her betrayal.
Kratos only bringed 5 titans and 3 of them are instantly killed.I dont think they will ever stood the chance against the gods.For a primordial (gaia)that existed before time that was a very dumb move
