  • This 2013 LEGO Star Wars AT-RT walker has given me so many questions to ask: "Is it from Umbara?" "Is it from Kiros?" "Have I gone completely insane?" I don't know the answer to any but the last one.

    I love how all of the video is about which location the set is based on, fully ignoring how the AT-RT is WAY OVERSIZED and out of scale.

    The set is based on the first episode of the zygerrian arc same as the BARC Speeder. There are multiple 501st AT-RTs and troopers in the opening scene and there are sniper droidekas and commando droids too. The umbara backgrojnd is probably just to match the other 501st sets and the yoda figure was probably just to insert a desirable/popular figure to boost sales.
    Edit: ahsoka WAS on umbara but she was leading the Starfighter battle alongside bariss as you can see them in the opening for the battle of umbara in their delta-7s.

    Barriss Offee and Ahsoka Tano are part of the Umbaran campaign, and are briefly seen in the space battle during the opening narration in this episode. This was from a google search I did which makes me lean more towards it being paired with the other umbera sets

    Hi, I'm almost positive this wave of clone wars sets are based off the scenes in the clone wars set on Umbara and Kiros (Ahsoka's people's home planet). Both of these arcs happened in season 4 but the Kidnapped (Kiros) arc didn't have many scenes that would adjust well into playsets while the Umbara arc was perfect for many playsets.
    So lego sort of mashed the two arcs together to make these 4 sets. 3 of which (the atrt, z95, and umbaran walker) were more closely tied to the Umbara arc but had sprinkles of the Kidnapped arc in there with the sniper droideka and Ahsoka appearing. Meanwhile, the speeder bike with Obi Wan and Captain Rex is the only set that is clearly tied to the arc on Kiros.
    As to why Yoda appears in the atrt set... I've honestly got no clue. My only theory would be because the Lego Yoda Chronicles were happening around this time, Lego might've wanted to shove him into some more sets.

    5:37 also don’t forget that many of the early clone wars sets have inaccurate box art showing Geonosis/Christophisis
    Anyway I think the set along with the speeder bike were probably just made to go with the Z-95 but technically inspired by different episodes. The same is true for the 2010 Arc-170 which was advertised along CW sets despite not being one, and included Fisto who never appeared in any CW sets

  • @Sopsy_Hallow
    @Sopsy_Hallow Před 16 dny +1

    the simplest answer is that its based on both to a degree, which i feel can be argued for a lot of "scene innacurate" lego sets. i dont think lego sets out to recreate a scene accuratly, just make a good set and base it of off a few things for theming. likely made the at-rt and fitted it with the umbara theming, then chose some interesting at-rt related minifigs even if they werent scene relevant, instead of choosing boring minifigs or more of the same that you could get in the other set

    Since droidekas are buildable I think Lego got away with this set more because it did only have one inaccurate minifig (Yoda) the commando droid is technically an accessory like lego skeletons are, like yeah they add to the fig count but they're not proper figures since you do have to partly build them. With minifigs you don't really build them it's just head and legs and that's the fig, everything else you put on it is an accessory.

    I personally really like this set. But it has a few inaccuracies for the set that you didn't cover. The first one is that the actual at-rt is COMPLETELY OVERSIZED, it's not size accurate to the shows and movie AT ALL. The second one is that the clone trooper that is driving the at-rt should be an at-rt driver or a arf trooper, not a regular clone. But anyway, nice video! 👍

    I would rather have you use more than one example of inaccurate background, also the one you used was about ten years apart, and obviously have different reasons for having inaccurate background.
    AT-RTs were used widely throughout the clone wars and there's not one recognizable background for them really, if anything i would argue that this time the background was Umbara because there was already umbaran set released alongside it, so designers most likely wanted to tie them together to create some link between them. That and also to reuse assets.

    • @crazydog1750
      @crazydog1750  Před 15 dny

      The BARC speeder released alongside the Umbaran stuff as well, though. 🤔

    • @nihili4196
      @nihili4196 Před 15 dny

      @@crazydog1750 That is true, but both BARC and AT-RT were easily recognizable by that time, where any umbaran vehicle were frankly quite unique in their looks compared to other Star Wars sets. That combined with the fact that Lego had much more unique sets of their own at that time could pose a risk that average kid who wasn't caught up with TV show, or somehow skipped few Umbara episodes, would get confused as to why that set is counted as Star Wars set. That's why tying it with other, more recognizable SW set on the shelves via more than just logo was important.
      It's not to help AT-RT, it was to help umbaran vehicle sell better in case it wasn't memorable enough on its own by tying it together with AT-RT via similar background
