Do deferral students have better chances than that of those who have applied in regular decision? (deferred ea Yale)
So I mentioned towards the end that generally yes, you are in a better position. Yale published data and said 20% got deferred so that's actually a pretty low number for a top school which means those deferrals are likely to remain in high consideration.
From my own experience, one year we had a Columbia deferral become a waitlist and then she got in with a full ride while the RDs only got rejected.

You know, I made some TOEFL/IELTS stuff a couple of years ago and it didn't really go anywhere, the only video I made about English tests that people actually watched was the Duolingo. I guess that was during pandemic when it was the only option, maybe it's a good time to revisit TOEFL. I personally recommend IELTS over the TOEFL though.
