      @@dopiaza2006 Actually, it could be taken a couple of different ways: (1) it could be speaking of a physically dead man (which is rather really morbid (not shocking for the Stones), or (2) it could be speaking of a man who is impotent.

      @@nealm6764 The Steel Wheels Tour was coined by many as the “Steel Wheelchairs Tour”. Couldn’t have been further from the truth. Although at that point, they were getting up there in age, you wouldn’t have guessed it. They performed like youngsters, and proved to the youngsters that they were still on top of their game. And I agree, Mick was quite the performer. I was amazed at his stamina and showmanship. Just oozed cool.

    That’s why they are celebrating their 60th year in 2022. Even at this age they still have so much energy I just saw them this past October and I hadn’t seen them since the 80s and they were still fabulous! The Stones dropped "Tattoo You" when I was in ninth grade. My buddies and I played the hell out of it. "Start Me Up", "Waiting On A Friend", "Hang Fire", "Slave", and "Little T&A" round out a great record. I remember thinking back then how strange it was that the bass player was older than my dad. By the way, back then my folks had no idea what Mick Jagger was talking about in this song beyond the catchy hook. When you're ready for more from The Stones, check out some of those other cuts, along with "Miss You", "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", "Beast of Burden", "Tumbling Dice", "Wild Horses", "Angie", "Honky Tonk Women", "Jumpin’ Jack Flash", "2000 Light Years From Home", "Let It Bleed", "Dance Little Sister", "Mother’s Little Helper" ...

    The two very best Stones tunes...."Shes so Cold" (with lyrics) (Man I would love to see Asia's reaction to THOSE lyrics. That would be MUST SEE viewing) and "Shattered". Both hit me like a brick when they were released. If you could successfully pull off a Karaoke of either tune, you would definitely be the bar star of the night. But I remember thinking it was so pop for the time which it really was. Even their comeback album right before this, some girls, is one of those albums worth every single song on it is absolutely amazing and it's still more edgy. And then of course they have a decade or more of material going back before that. They were friends with The Beatles by the way.

    Mick Jagger has a certain way of putting the annunciation where it is needed and if you notice the back up vocals are sometimes a little bit off where Mick Jagger's are like just seconds from being together but they have done this on a lot of their must. Gives the idea that the note is sounding a little longer.

    This was used for the launch of Windows 95, the first real computer startup program that placed software icons on your desktop where all you had to do was click them.

      @debjorgo Před 2 lety

      @@curmudgeonaf Well you had Windows 3.1 or 3.11? that would lunch software but I don't think you had the icons on the desktop, unless the software itself, put the icons there. I'm just trying to remember this as a PC user, not as someone who was a tech head. I don't think I used a mouse until Windows 95. It was all keyboard shortcuts.

      @debjorgo Před 2 lety

      @@curmudgeonaf Alright, you got me curious on this. If Apple had the icons as far back as '84, and Xerox before that, I would think Microsoft would have had then before '95. Especially with all the stealing going on. So I checked Wiki. The picture of 3.11 looks like I remembered it, you had to click open windows to get to the software. Now you had icons, or GUIs in these windows, but they were not on the desktop.
      I've just seen that John Nielson and Raymond C below mentioned W'95 an hour before I did anyway.

    Some of the lyrics were wrong, but at the end the last two lines do not end with the word ‘come’. It’s ‘You make A Dead Man cum’ and the line is a tribute to early 20th century African American Blues singer Lucille Bogan, whose lyrics make ANYTHING today seem tame. That was a line in one of her songs. It means exactly what you think it means.

    Asia, BJ… If the world was going to end tomorrow (nuclear war), there would be just 3 things that would still exist:
    1) - Fallout
    2) - Cockroaches, and;
    3) - The Rolling Stones
    …These guys have been rocking the world for close to or just over 50 years that I don’t think anything will kill them off!!! 😂😂😂 Keith Richards would be “high as a kite” but STILL wouldn’t die & Mick’s big lips would protect him 👍🤣. One of the greatest bands of all time… Unquestionably 🤘😝

    You should react to “out of control from Havana Moon” the stones were banned from Cuba for a very very long time and in 2016 they put on a free concert in Havana where an estimated 500,000-750,000 showed up and jammed with the stones. Out of control is my favorite performance from that show, the crowd gets involved, it’s history.

    FYI The Rolling Stones debut on the Ed Sullivan Show in the '60s, they played their hit Let's Spend The Night Together but had to change the lyrics to Let's Spend Some Time Together. Times have changed.

    I highly recommend trying the band called The Dave Clark Five. They were part of the British Invasion of the 60’s and had 14 top 40 hits in the U.S. from 64-68. Try “Can’t You See That She’s Mine”, “Glad All Over”, “Do You Love Me” and “Over and Over.” All upbeat fun songs.
