The lever, which is located in the handle, may be broken. Kettle models may vary 🤷🏻♂️
My cattle have same peoblem i use addehsive tape for thikness for still not work buddy and swtich gone back to off position still
Check, your kettle may have a different design. Some kettles have the problem of a broken plastic lever in the handle.

My kettle is always on. The switch on or of doesn't matter. The power was normally 2000+ watts, but now 200 to 600 watts....... does it make a little bit contact?....
