  • The Golden State Warriors are on fire right now. Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole combined for 50 points, while Steph Curry had a game-high 34 points off the bench. Golden State is up 2-0 against the Denver Nuggets, but the Phoenix Suns are currently the No. 1 seed and up 1-0 over the New Orleans Pelicans. Marcellus Wiley, Emmanuel Acho and Ric Bucher discuss whether the Suns should fear the Warriors or not.

Durant rarely brought the ball up after made baskets when Steph was on the floor. And when they had their death line up in, Iggy played point.
Poole presents problems that KD didn't. KD has always been a stationary player and not 1 that offered any gravity when the ball wasn't in his hands. Poole is nowhere near the player KD is, but he is better at using his new gravity to get shots for himself or for others. Steph's shots didn't get much easier with KD on the floor. Because of Poole's movement, Steph/Klay/Poole are better suited to make the game easier for everyone, but especially for themselves. How many iso calls did we see in those 11 mins those 5 were on the floor?

That was because of the bogus technicals called on Draymond. I say bogus because one of those early technicals, against OKC, was ridiculous. Dray was under the basket with the ball, went up for a shot, and Steven Addams swatted the ball away. Dray's legs flew up and one of them got Addams in the groin. It was obviously painful, but it also was obviously not on purpose, and it happens all the time. In fact, LeBron did exactly the same thing to Iguodala in the finals and it wasn't called. And the Cavs also had Matthew "Diver" Dellavadova, one of the dirtiest players in the league, who'd injured a couple players earlier in the series but never got T's called on him because "that was the way he played." Dray is a tough, physical defender, but he's not dirty.
So when Dray got into that contretemps with LeBron in the finals, he had accumulated enough T's to force him to sit out a game when the W's were up 3-1, and then when he came back he was very cautious. I think another T would have gotten him ejected again.
Remember also that Steph and Bogut were hurt in that series. Bogut didn't play the final game, and Steph had twisted a knee against the Rockets because they allowed moisture to collect on the floor and it was slick. He obviously was slowed and didn't play well in that final game, although he would never blame the injury for his poor play.

Great take. People already forgot their initial predictions. Greg Anthony said that this was a bad match up for the Warriors. Instead of saying the Warriors were better than I thought, now it's about how the Nuggets are depleted.
The depleted story is a bad line. If they were a team that recently lost those players and now they are forced to play without them, then I would understand. The Nuggets were a 6 seed without those players. That lineup earned that spot. As a 6th seed, you should be good enough to contend with a 3 seed. The reason why these games are not close is not because the Nuggets are depleted, it's that the Warriors are not playing like a 3 seed. They are playing like a 1 seed.
And if the Nuggets had everyone, they wouldn't even be a 6th seed going against the Warriors. Likely a 2 through 4 and would have home court against someone else.

Shoot but the sad part last game if I'm not mistaken Poole had less minutes & more points than Wiggins did the boy ready & he gone show it. & That savage in curry sit back watch everything than come in on attack mode & it's lethal right now come on now 23 mins & 34pts as I look it's early but the pelicans up on the sun's & all they have is Ingram & CJ can't wait until that sun's warrior matchup it's going down.

I like how they have this energy for the warriors like oh look where they was before Steph got hurt. But for the nets they like man the nets was always this team. I'm sorry before kd got hurt both him and Steph was in the MVP conversation and both had their teams in first place before they both got hurt. The main difference is that this isn't the same nets team like it was when they was first in the east. Kyrie wasn't playing yet and harden wasn't harden yet at the time and they was still first because of kd. Now they don't have harden and the player they got back for him or main piece hasn't played yet. Don't come up here talking about what the warriors did before Steph got hurt but then completely disrespect the nets before kd got hurt

Earlier in the year, I was begging for a Nets vs Warriors finals. These are 2 completely different teams. When the trade went down, I thought that would be the end of the Nets for this year.
I didn't expect Kyrie to be able to play and for him to look so good. However, I don't think they get out of the East. Simmons is broken. When he returns, we will all see it. I do think Durant and Kyrie are the best combo in basketball, but as a team, they don't do a lot of other things right, so if they are just slightly off for a game, they could lose to any of these teams in the East.
Next year, they'll have Harris back to help spread the floor. I'm hoping they can remain healthy then and make it to the Finals.

I hate when people don’t give success credit because it’s not game 7 in the finals, so nothing before counts, the steps to get to the Chip hold no weight, the momentum a team creates and rides feeding off of each game doesn’t count as clutch, stop down playing games/moments/players because they “have yet to be proven to” as if that matters, moments make players, moments build reputations, but you have to HAVE the moments to be able to prove it

They haven’t played a lot together this season and this is exactly what they need to catch some fire. The league and fans are oblivious to the fact that if Steph gets a hot steak going and the rest fall in line…. The warriors might just be the toughest team to defend in the playoffs.. might even see klay and Steph sitting out 3rd and 4th quarters like we’re accustomed to. All I know is you motherfuckers better pray Poole loses his hot streak and Steph falls back into a terrible slump. If not, I’d get my affairs in order.

If a casual spectator like myself can see that 😒 … It’s a debate show and I guess he got the anti GSW stance but … there had to be something better than this… GSW has been planning this for a LONG time… this is the opening salvo… they got some other weaponry in line…

GENIUS! 😲
